Lateef looked at the stew then looked at Sam and then looked back at the stew. "Hey Sam the stew smells really good. Is it close to being done? Because having to smell it and not being able to eat it is no fair,"

Riley laughed at her sister, and reached into one of her backpacks to fetch some tin bowls and a loaf of bread, she handed one of the bowls to Sam to fill while she tore off a hunk of the bread to pass on to Lateef to go with the stew.

Samantha smiled as she took the bowl Riley had handed her and filled it with some of the stew using a ladle. Then she handed it to Riley to give to Lateef. "You really must learn to be patient, Lateef,"Samantha teased the younger girl.

Lateef took the bread and bowl of stew. she said "Thank you for the bread and Stew." She then broke out a peice of bread and dipped it the stew. "Umm, this is really good I now understand why it took you so long. The only way to get this quality of flavor is by taking your time." As she smiled teasing Sam back.

"A sorceress must know about her cooking as much as she knows about her magical abilities,"Samantha grinned.

Kitika looked at the lump of bread in her hand, with a slightly wrinkled up nose, she just wasn't quite sure what to make of it, it certainly wasn't anything she was used to, but she accepted the bowl of stew that was handed to her greatfully, and was glad she had, for the taste of it was magnificent. She devoured the bowl of stew and the bread, somewhat unlady like, in a matter of minutes, before setting the very empty bowl down infront of her, and looking quite satieted. "Thank you!, that was delightful" she commented as she looked around for somewhere to sleep.

As everyone ate their stew, Samantha smiled. "I am glad you guys are enjoying the stew,"she said softly.

Lateef licked her bowl clean then set it down. She then took her saddle and placed on the ground next to a tree. Then she found her bed roll and placed on the ground next to her saddle. "Well thank you for supper and now I must get to sleep so that I can take the second watch shift."

Riley nodded, dug out her bed roll and tossed it towards Kitika to use to sleep on, before positioning herself on the edge of their camp where she could see both the roadway and the cluster of trees and easily watch for any intruders. By now the sun had set completely and darkness had descended apon the small group, and it took riley a moment to allow her eyes to fully get used to the dark so that she could see with out problems.

Kitika looked over the brown roll of fabric that had been tossed towards her and landed a foot away from where she sat, and wrinkled her nose that the ugly color and the audible wear and tear it had endured, finally she walked away from the vile roll and slowly approached Hellsbane who stood a short distance from the camp, nibbling on some sweet grass. She held out her hand to the Warmare, who promptly ignored her. she moved around to face the horse, still holding out her hand, and when the large mare took a quick sniff of her hand and resumed eating, Kitika felt it was safe. So she quickly changed back into her dragon from and landed on the horse's rump where she circled like a cat for a moment before settling down to sleep in a little white ball of scales.

Lateef lied down on her bed roll and started to meditate to help her get as well rested as possible. After fifteen minutes of meditating she was relaxed and ready to sleep. She soon fell asleep.

Everything ok, Sam?Shadow's voice drifted to the sorceress. Yeah, we just had supper. Did you find something to eat yourself?Samantha thought back. Yeah, though I'll spare you the details because I know how much you hate hearing me talk about it,Shadow laughed in her mind. Samantha smiled, as hse got out her own bed roll and unrolled it. Then she slid under the cover and drifted off to sleep. Trixie curled up beside her and closed her eyes.

Riley sighed a sigh of releaf as the last of her companions fell asleep, then, with her eyes constantly wandering and her ears on alert, she began to think about what could lie ahead for them, and what the best ways to keep the princess out of danger would be.

The sun had set hours before the small party had retired, and by now the ground was covered in darkness. The Sky was littered with small sparkling stars that peeked out around the low lying clouds as they moved through the air. Beyond the rustling of leaves and the soft sound of blowing wind, the night was quiet and at peace. Hours elapsed before even one of the horses shifted in their sleep.
