hallgod33 Chieftain Twilight iRavi ...Ignore the Calvin Klein model attached to this fabulous weapon. HOW CAN I!? eek HE IS SEX ON A STICK! anywho... >///> palm heals strikes and hamerfist strikes are better than punches anyway. and i like falchions. they cut quickly, and cleanly, and can be maneuvered realy fluidly with practice. i personally suck at it, but i havn't had lots of oppertunities with them anyway. i have seen some excelent swordplay and juggling with those things, as well as amazing combat demos. Eh... Whens the last time you've compared a hammerfist to a lead hook? Or a palm heel strike to a cross? I'm not sure you realize that a punch has incredibly more power than a palm or hammer strike. The hammerfist is used to bridge distance, or to block and strike in the same movement. The palm heel strike is to damage delicate facial bones, like the nose and ear. Its pretty much useless when used on the forehead, chest, stomach, and arms. A punch has more rocking power, and more blasting force. Think force spread over two knuckles vs. your entire hand. The knuckles hurt more. dude, i kow it should be first two knuckles, but still, the other parts of your hands will be much easier to break then the palm-heel and the hammerfist. those strikes still have GREAT power, and you can generate mor ethan enough to kill or break bones with just the propper hip-movements. and if you need morepower than that, just throw a good roundhouse or side kick! my brother doe sthis neat trick where he adds a hook kick to the end of those kicks, and other than that i prefer elbows anyway.

Eh... The hammerfist we use was kinda made so you didn't have to use your hips. That's the point of punches, to utilize hip movement. And the hammerfist is for speed, and a combo chainer. Like Cross, forehand, backhand, cross, hook, uppercut, down elbow, up elbow. You must've learned from someone who uses crazy isolated martial arts, cuz most every style has adopted the Kali hammerfists with angle one and two. And if you're talkin' kicks, lawlcakes. I broke a baseball bat with a roundkick the other day, and FINALLY was able to kick the 70 lb. bag into the ceiling the other day. Flippin, my training buddy can kick the 100 lb. thou... Dern him and his intensity. And w00t for elbows! Do you Thai 'em or fist em?

Not all strikes need come from the hips, and that's why the backfist and forehand strikes were created. The ones we use are from Kali, which is a principle based martial art, where you can use any weapon with the same techniques. The forehand-backhand strikes are the same you would do with a knife or a kali stick. I'm not trying to say what you do it wrong, there are just other ways to do it, and it always helps to try each one. And with the elbows, do you have your hands in fists when you throw it or open Thai style? Thai style elbows have more flow and look cleaner, and closing your fists is more Americanized, and "brutal." Lawlcakes to that. Muay Thai is the most brutal out there.
