As the boy rose, she quickly began working on her back-up plan. She loosened her shirt, her belt, and her pants. If the guards began to get curious, they wouldn't think twice about a young couple finding love where they could. At least they wouldn't have to get into battle. She loved to fight, but against those odds, even she balked at the idea. Thankfully, neither scenario had to play out. Instead, she had to contend with the startling fact that the ceiling was suddenly caving in. She flinched, cringing visibly. As the building began to collapse, a great din erupted as the three men were crushed. Now that the debris was blocking off the way forward, there was little chance she'd get into any fight.
I guess we should try looking for something we can handle, she supposed.
When the dust cleared, she looked back at the new kid. Now, she was no mind-reader, but faces she could do just fine. He seemed a little shaken--which is understandable; anyone would be in this situation. But behind that emotion, there was some obscured non-sequitur. Something just wasn't adding up, and alarms were going off in her head. What was it? She couldn't quite place it, but she was certain that something was not right. As the boy commented on their luck, it struck her just how fishy this was. He seemed surprised all right, but why would the ceiling just cave in like that, right then and there? "Hmm... a little too lucky, if you ask me. Stay on your guard," she said.
Here there be supers, she joked to herself.
She considered their options. If there were a super in the vicinity, there was a good chance it would follow them. Whether the super was friendly or not was another matter entirely, though. Honestly, she didn't like the idea of someone following them around that she couldn't see. Perhaps, then, she would be able to shake the guy. "We should head out. We don't need any more attention drawn to us than necessary. God, and here I was trying to lie low..." she grumbled. "Well, as long as we're not, I might as well pay a visit to my fence. I have a few choice words for him," she added, cheering up just a little.
