Hex Kor Atrox Saint Hex, your work is good. I need to know a few things. First, how long does Desmond get to keep his borrowed powers? If it's longer than a few minutes after witnessing it's use, you may need to drop the shape-shifting ability. I understand the desire for a character without limits (Believe me, I do) but those sorts of characters are no fun for other players to play against. If I may make a suggestion (don't feel pressured to take it), maybe Chameleon can take the form of one person or animal he sees and hold it indefinitely. While changed, he has access to all of the form's strengths and abilities as well as the ability to shape into another form at will. His shape-shifting speed could be very quick, allowing him to flow between forms during a fight; allowing him to use all his opponents' strengths against them. Just a suggestion. Seliza, you're on a roll! I can't wait to see when this all comes together! SO My options are........ 1. Drop the shape shifting ability, in order to keep powers indeffinately 2. or make it so that he can only use other powers in the form of the power's owner. Am I understanding you correctly? Because I had intended him to keep the powers either long term or peranently. If I cant that will probably only be the case in small scale RPs (Such as unsung) rather than in Guild RPs I would rather he didn't keep them long term. Otherwise you wind up with a Peter (If you watch Heroes, you know he keeps other people's powers forever. They finally had to take all his powers away last season because he had become too powerful). Those aren't your only options. Feel free to bounce any other ideas off of me. I'm sorry I'm kind of stomping on your fun, but I have to work as a sort of referee to keep everything somewhat fair. In Unsung, fairness isn't as much of an issue.

No, its totally understandable.
Hm, perhaps I can roll a dice for how many posts he can keep his powers, or something. idk though. Limitng the limitless is rather difficult. >.>

Task Two: A/S/L?!?! Name: Anthony Bernard Riciarddi
Age: I realize that many of the characters are in highschool however I feel that he wouldn't have sufficient knowledge and logic as a high school student so I'm going to make him twentyish.
He is indeed a male which would explain why I refer to him as a he. I believe it would also be wise for me to mention that he is infact english.
Task Three: For better or for worse, for good or for evil? Anthony Had family issues....In that he didn't necessarily have one. His father was in the military and was rarely home. Even so when he was home he complained about what an aweful child Anthony was, how disappointing he was compared to his older brother. Anthony strived to prove he wasn't nothing but it doesn't matter what he did. If he proved he was highly intelligent with superior grades his father wished he would be stronger. When he worked out and became brilliantly strong and toned his father asked why he had wasted the time getting buff when he could've been studying. In most cases their would be a mother to comfort him and remind him that his father only meant well. However his mother had left them for another man when Anthony was four so he learned to become bitter and resent his father.
He loved his brother, possibly more than anyone. It was his brother who snuck comic books into the house under his father's disapproval of the "Queer stories." He and his brother would stay up late into the night reading the fantastic tales of super hero deeds. Anthony soon learned to Idolize Batman, Dare Devil and Rorschach and obsessed over their characters. He would often argue with his brother over which characters were better and why intellect and cunning were better tools than strength and power. When Sean William Riciarddi announced that he was indeed a homosexual his father denounced him and he was ostrasized by the entire family. Only Anthony ever kept in touch and sympathized with his brother who eventually died of a heroine overdose. Anthony blames his father entirely for this. With his brother's death and his life up in the air Anthony packed any worldly items that he deemed necessary and left the country for the himalayas, claiming he had no stakes left in England.
In the Himalayas an older Monk took Anthony in and personally took mentoring the child in not just the ways of the buddhists but in the self defense and in life as well. After spending what would've been his last year of highschool and his colleges years in the teaching of these monks he felt at peace with the ghosts of his past and was ready to return to the western world. However a chinese insurgency attacked the temple and killed his mentor and three other monks. Seeing their blood spilled enraged Anthony. He didn't understand why something so aweful happened to people so wonderful. He left with his life but was forever scarred and his mended mind was once again broken. Rather than returning to England he came to America and tried to come to terms with the recent happenings. He recalled the heroes from his childhood, using their intellect with a combination of intelligent plans and a little bit of braun to get results. He decided that is what he stood for, and he, like his comic book idols, would do whatever was necessary to get results.
His mind never fully mended from the incident in the Himalayas and has opened his mind to illusions. He constantly feels as though he is being followed by unseen monsters. He hears whispers but no lips to speak them. Often times he has internal conversations with his brother and his mentor. He's highly intelligent but incredibly paranoid.

Very nice work! As long as you realize a lot of the guild is much more goof than this, I'm game for the serious character. You put a lot of thought into this and I think you should roll with it.

It's hard for me to convey humor into writing otherwise I'd probably try something on the funnier side of things. This is the step I'm having trouble with though. I can't figure out what kind of powers he should have.

We had a character in an earlier incarnation who was a little paranoid. He had audio-voyance: the ability to hear the future.
Maybe the whispers he hears aren't without origin?

I thought about maybe giving him the ability to see future events. I also thought invisibility would make sense for him or like being able to walk through walls or something.
I do like the idea of the whispers having origin though. I may toy with that.

Task One: Finding a Character Idea I was just looking through a list of super powers on Wikipedia and bouncing ideas of Kenji, and probability manipulation stood out as something odd and interesting.
So... I think I'm gonna give that a good shot.
The article defines probability manipulation as the ability to alter probability, causing unlikely things to happen or likely things to not happen.
Could be fun, and I really need something fun to play.
I'm leaning towards having a character that, while unfortunate, is also lucky, and somehow find a way to manifest that into a power of some kind.
Task Two: A/S/L?!?! 'Kay. I'm going to make this character a girl. A girl by the name of... Abigail Ritz. Yes, Ritz, like the cracker. When I can find a coin, I will flip it to determine if she will be 17 or 18. She will be located in, obviously, Delmor, most likely in one of the suburban homes on Harvest Fox Glen.
It'll probably take a bit for me to get a character off the ground. It has been quite a while since I've RPed.

Okay let's give this a whirl.
Task Three-Point-Five: I HAVE THA POWAH!!! Anthony's ability rests in the ability to turn "Invisible." This is said in quotes because he doesn't necessarily just up and vanish he has to concentrate in order to alter his atomic structure in a way that allows his body to match a background. Therefore his ability is more powerful if he is up against say a brick wall where the pattern is distinct versus say if he were standing in the middle of the street in which case his body would have to compensate for all of the elements including sky atmosphere, pollution, distant objects, and to blend in from all angles. Needless to say he tries not to use his ability in the open with so much to concentrate on.
His secondary power is one that he cannot control. Occasionally Anthony is able to glance into the future. Typically this event involves himself however he has had a few psychic visions that have involved others that he has not yet met. He's learned that you cannot really alter an outcome and has only ever managed to make something not happen once. Unlike Deja Vu His premonitions are very precise as to what will happen and more than not when. As a result he takes these premonitions very seriously.
Additionally Anthony is in peak physical condition and has been taught various forms of hand to hand fighting. Due to his paranoia Anthony sees people who aren't there, usuall they come in the form of his brother. These visions are always spontaneous and on occasion provide Anthony with insight or something that he hadn't thought of before.
Noted: Anthony's psychic powers will mostly involved just him as I have no control over other people's characters. Occasionally if it is a general event such as a fight maybe he'll be able to predict who will be there. I'm still working out the kinks in this.

I might throw you a plot event now and then. Perhaps a vague vision of something that isn't so set in stone? As you said, kinks will have to be worked out.

'Tis a challenge to play a psychic in a turn based roleplay.
Task Four: But she had a great personality… Anthony owns very little. As a result his home his sparsely furnished and incredibly organized. Anthony is very quiet and hardly outgoing, saying very little if anything at all. The few things he does say are usually strictly to the point and convey no emotion if possible. He is highly irritable with people who are loud and unaware of other people in the vicinity making say, eating at a restaurant an incredibly frustrating experience. He doesn’t have much need for money and thus it usually ends up in a bank account where it’ll never be used most likely.
Anthony doesn’t have a whole lot of friends. Truthfully he doesn’t feel any dependency towards other people and only makes friends on occasion. He is a frustrating friend who will absorb information but hardly ever give anything back. If you ever manage to get close to him he is a reliable friend and in some incredibly rare cases he has known to be a supportive friend. His personal heroes are all fictional and of the super variety: Rorschach, Batman, and Dare Devil. He feels compelled to live up to these fictitious men’s legacies and does his best to try and make the world better so to speak.
As a person he is confident in himself. Although he does have abilities and does see things he will never admit that he has any illness in his head. This is mainly because he doesn’t believe in psychiatrists or therapists and think it is all a load of crock. Anthony’s luck with the lady folk suffers from his inability to communicate feelings with people. This isn’t to say he doesn’t have feelings merely that he doesn’t feel a need to share them with anyone. He doesn’t believe in religion of any sort and chooses to remain neutral on the topic. He does practice the art of meditation and is heavily influenced by eastern philosophy however.
Anthony won’t admit to any vices however he does have an affinity to Mexican food and hates incompetence to no end. Furthermore, Anthony’s paranoia has an effect on his sanity and has caused public outbursts in his past. He has been known to shout vigorously at thin air claiming that his brother or even fictional characters are there. He absolutely hates being wrong and if he is he will go out of his way to try and redeem himself.

"Anthony’s paranoia has an effect on his sanity"
I have to point this out, it kinda cracked me up. I know what you mean, but there has to be a better way of describing it. Paranoia, but it's very definition, effects one sanity. Maybe his paranoia "has started to wear on him" or "has had an effect on him."

Task One: Finding a Character Idea Hello, um, my character idea is a teenage boy named Tommy Keith Lirik, he gets his powers in an accident, yes very original, and gains super speed powers and durability allowing him to act like a human bullet, which is why his hero name is The Golden Bullet. He would be the type of hero who would have a simple view of justice. Task Two: A/S/L?!?! He comes from Florida, but moves to Delmor when his father gets a job at a lab. He was just a normal kid so didn't excpect a change from his normal life.
His age is 16, hes a male.
His full name is Tommy Keith Lirik (prounouned Leer-Ick) but after gaining his powers and putting on the costume he calls himself The Golden Bullet. Task Three: For better or for worse, for good or for evil? Tommy, or just Tom, didn't have much of a incredible history. He was a normal kid, normal mother, normal father, normal life. He kept to himself in school and was a bit of the scatter brain so he was made fun of some times. He wasn't the greatest student, his messyness kept him from turning assignments in many times. The only thing he was good at really was Track, he was the second fastest kid in his class.
His mother was always there for him, helping him along and giving him advice, but when she was offered a big position over seas, she decided to take the job and left, but she still wrights to him and his father. After a few years working as a professor at a local collage, his father was offered a job in the quiet little town of Delmor to be a reasearcher at a medical lab. He moved there with his dad. While there, through a series of events Tommy gets caught in a lab accident he gained his powers. He, with his simple sense of justice and the little knowledge he has on true evil he decides to head out and help keep Delmor safe. Task Three-Point-Five: I HAVE THA POWAH!!! Through the lab accident Tommy's body gained the ability to accelerate (ill think of a better explanation some how) His main power is super speed, able to move at incredible speeds, faster than a bullet even. The downside to his speed is he can't stop on a dime or take sharp turns, instead he skids to a stop, or stumbles to slow down, and he must make wide turns, which is hard in small areas. He also has a bit of an energy problem, unless he has a full belly or some sort of energy sorce to keep his body going he runs out of steam. His secondary ability is a durability power, it allows him to smash his body full speed into object with out breaking his body, it makes his body tougher to break and can give him a deadly weapon if he moves fast enough. Task Four: But she had a great personality… Tommy is a scatter brain, a bit of a slob and seems to have a tiny nerve problem. Tommy has a scatter brain problem, he may be in the middle of something important, and get distracted and forget, he can also get a little excited over things. However when it matters his scatter brainess doesn't effect his judgement or his true duties. He is also a bit of a slob, once his room was so messy, the door couldn't be opened till he cleaned up. He has a habit of losing things easy, and something that really annoys him is when he is looking for something that goes to somethign else, when he finds it, he loses the original thing.
The important stuff wont be lost as much or as easy though. Tommy has a small nerve problem, sometime he gets nervous over something easy or fidgets, a habit of his is rolling strands of hair around his fingers when he gets nervous. Tommy has a simple view on justice and evil, he beleives in a black and white world where criminals are easy to pick and heroes are always right, and when something happens that he can't handle, something that he didn't imagine could happen, he tends to panic, and depending on the situation, he can panic badly. He always had trouble facing incredible difficulties, running from his prioblems, but now that he is a hero, he swears to never run from a situation. One thing Tommy hopes for more than helping Delmor, is finding allies, he always loved reading comics and seeing heroes teaming up to fight evil. Task Five: Don’t Judge a book by its cover Tommy is a bit of a pale kid, but from his time doign Track he did get a bit of color. He is about 6 feet 4 inches tall, thin, but not overly muscular. His hair, at almost all times, is a mess, his brown locks all shaggy and tangled. His eyes are a dark blue, but gentle. He usually wears messy looking jeans, patchs and stiches, with tape on one knee or such, he thought they looked cool, he also has a habit of wearing ties and a suit jacket over his shirts. His favorite pair of sneakers are red.
When in super hero mode, he takes on a diffrent uniform. At first his uniform was a lame maske with eye holes, a full body jump suit, boots and gloves, all painted a bright yellow. However, when he gained a more professional outfit it was much better. It was a full body suit of armor, his helmet had eye holes, with glass to protect his eyes, shaped in a roung cone, like the tip of a bullet. His suit is stream lined, the torso round and snug on his body, the shoulders were flat with small fins for aerodinamic purposes, his legs are covered in a multiple piece armor, fitted to allow maximum movement, the boots are snug and designed to allow easy running. The suit is golden colored and made of a material immune to high friction levels, durable to handle hard impacts and has light heat proofing. Task Six: Pulling it all together into a profile
Name: Tommy Keith Lirik AKA: The Golden Bullet Current Age: 16 Appearance: (Height, weight, eye color, hair color, and any other noteworthy physical traits)6'4";142 lbs.; blue; brown; thin with some muscle; messy hair; very light tan. Costume: A full golden suit of armor; bullet shaped helmet, streamlined design; fins on shoulders. Primary Power: Tommy's main power is super speed. He gained it by having his body excelerated by a lab accident. He has a natural immunity to friction. His speeds can reach speeds faster than a bullet, if he pushes himself to the limit, he can even move at the speed of sound at his very limits. Secondary Power(s): His secondary ability is a strong durability. He can take heavy hits and walk away unscathed. He uses that durability to slam into things using his speed, making him a human bullet. It also keeps him from wearing his body out fast, the durability keeping his legs from breaking at his incredible speeds. Weakness: He cannot stop on a dime or make sharp turns, he has to skid to a stop and make wide turns. Because of his bodies new high motabolism, he needs to keep his body energized or he'll just collapse. Though he can reach the speed of sound, at speeds around this level, he has no real perception of the world, he just sees blurs, this is also bad for his directional movement, since the faster he goes, the farther and longer he skids to stop, and turns can be rediculously wide, and if he tries to reach the speed of sound, when he stops, he always collapses in complete exhaustion. Personality: He is a scatter brained, messy, fidgety guy. He has a simple view of the world of fighting crime and evil, from reading so many comics he beleives good and bad are easy to distinguish. He can lose his nerve fast in difficult situations and panic badly, since he used to run away from problems in the past. However, he may have an immature personality, but he can be a true hero, his sense of justice is simple, but strong, to protect the weak, and punish evil. He is friendly to fellow heroes, and likes to get along with others. Biography: Tommy lived in Florida half his life, going to school, being with his few friends and living his boring life. When his father is offered a medical researcher position in a small town called Delmor, so they packed up and headed off. He began to move back to his normal boring life, until he headed to his father's lab to grab some research notes his dad forgot. However, he tripped in the dark lab and hit the controls of a prototype machine, a device that could excelerate the human healing ability during surgeries. A short circuit in the lab caused the machine to increase in power, by alot.
The machine excelerated his entire body to an incredibly high level, giving him super speed abilities, and a secondary durability. After donning a hand made costume, which he was greatly embarassed about, he decided to help the other heroes and defend Delmor. Goals/Motives: Tommy has two major goals as a hero. 1. Defend Delmor from all forms of baddies. And 2. To find ally heroes to join forces with, since he always loved hero team ups in comics. Vices: He is a scatter brain, messy, and fidgets. He rolls his hair in his fingers when he fidgets. He can panic fast in difficult situations. Other: He has a biiiiiig comic book collection.
