Milky Way Galaxy Widow Cluster Citadel C-Sec Academy
A salarian officer handed Kirus the dossier on Serviceman Myles Gibbson, the man who had found the body of Agent Vectier. He read it carefully as he walked towards the interrogation room. A pair of C-Sec enforcement officers kept an eye on him, but he wasn't under arrest. As he read the file, he came to understand why. The two were friends, and according to the initial findings and video surveillance, Gibbson entered Vectier's office after he'd been dead several minutes.
Still, he was definitely a 'person of interest' in the death of a C-Sec officer, and that meant he was sticking around for awhile. According to the file, Vectier had been working on a case in which Gibbson was listed as an 'outside source'. He closed the data pad and walked into the room where the human sat waiting. "Serviceman Myles Gibbson?" the turian asked, letting the door close and lock behind him, regarding the marine suspiciously - it wasn't because he thought the human had done anything wrong, it was just his default stance towards anyone he questioned.
"Kirus Ezran, Investigation Division. I'd like to ask you a few questions about the death of Agent Vectier. You were helping Vectier with a case here on the Citadel, is that correct? Could you tell me what your involvement was?" The turian stood above and slightly behind Gibbson, uncomfortably close - an interrogation method designed to keep the witness off-balance. When standing, he was easily several inches taller than the human - who seemed to be no slouch himself, height-wise - so while the human was sitting, the turian towered well above him, and that was the way he liked it when he questioned someone. "I should remind you that upon his death, his files and cases transfer to the investigating officer. That would be me. Therefore I expect your full cooperation."

Myles sighed then answered "Alright, Me and Vectier were hunting down a group of Cerberus members, they are kidnapping humans with Biotic abilities and my brother just happens to be one of the people kidnapped.." Myles put his head down and rubbed the back of his neck "Can I have a drink?" Myles fiddled with his hands and looked around the room, it was very clean yet still intimidating, especially with a Turian towering over you.
The Turian placed a glass of water infront of Myles "Thank you." the man slightly giggled then took a sip of the clear water. Myles turned and looked the Turian in the eyes and said "You need to let me go, Cerberus has people everywhere...Even in C-Sec." Myles turned once again to face the table.

Kirus tilted his head to the side as Gibbson giggled to himself. The turian hardly found this situation amusing, but perhaps it was a nervous reaction on the part of the human, a method of dealing with the loss of his friend. "We'll see about releasing you once we know more about what happened here tonight. Tell me about Cerberus. As I recall, they're a rogue Alliance spec-ops group. Are you telling me that Cerberus was involved in Vectier's death?"
As he talked, he moved ominously behind Gibbson, another technique to put him on edge. He rounded the chair in which the human sat, to the side of the sterile steel cast table, and leaned his hands against the tabletop as he finished his last sentence, looking into the human's eyes skeptically. If Cerberus was involved - which sounded pretty far-fetched - it meant trouble.

Whitfield quickly walked over to his locker and stored his gear before getting in the lift. He didn't want to be with the asari commando or anywhere near Hayes, he just wanted to be on the bridge where he needed to be. As the lift came to a halt he walked up the semi-spiral stairs and came to the bridge. Roland stepped casually past the galaxy map and up to the front of the ship near Joker. He stood behind the man and glanced down at the holographic display screens. "Hey Joker," he said to get the man's attention. Joker didn't glance back at him, and the man didn't need to. "Yeah?" Roland looked away from the screens and down at him, "Thanks for the pick-up back there."

Myles rubbed his chin then replied "Yes, Cerberus is involved.. And they will kill anyone that gets in the way." Myles was getting tired but he knew he wouldn't be leaving anytime soon, this C-Sec officer Kirus was going to get himself killed for even talking to Myles "Look, you are threatening your life by doing this investigation, and if thats it i would really like tp get some sleep!" Myles didn't mean to snap like that but he didn't want anyone else to turn up dead.

Kirus pushed himself away from the table and nodded to the one-way mirror, behind which was Executor Pallin, listening in on the questioning. He listened something through his ear piece, and turned back to Gibbson. "I really doubt that my life is the one you should be worried about here, Serviceman. If they came after Vectier, they may come after you. Therefore, I'm offering you protective custody here at C-Sec. You can stay until the danger has been assessed and dealt with. If you refuse, I can give you my personal COM frequency as an alternative. If you think of anything that can help in this investigation, or if you feel you're in danger, don't hesitate to call it. Your choice." Kirus leaned against the wall to wait for his response, giving him as much time as he needed to weigh his options.

Myles thought for a few moments then replied "I will be fine, but you already know too much, watch yourself out there.." Myles stood up awaiting the doors to open "Goodbye Officer Kirus, I will be in touch.." he listened to Kirus's response then left.
Walking back to the apartment Myles stopped to look at the scenery, looking at all the people with just ordinary lives, no danger or worries. Myles thought about Vectier for a moment or two then walked to the apartment. The doors slid open and Myles walked in, first checking his messages "You have zero messages" Myles was startled by the voice, he was over tired, so he stripped down to his boxers and went to sleep.

"No problem Captain. It's only my job." Joker had done more drastic flying under Shepard, picking a ground team up off the face of an exploding planet was already becoming normal for him. Either he was going crazy or life was getting boring. "Did you get the message I sent you sir?" He wanted to deal with this mystery message. Councilor Anderson's private business probably wasn't his affair, but it just reeked top-secret. Captain Whitfield would probably berate him for spying and probably report him, but if, and it was a pretty big if, Commander Shepard was alive... It would change everything. It was enough to risk his career over. Besides, he could always get a job as the best Merchant pilot in the traverse. And any ship in the fleet would want him as a pilot after what he'd done with Shepard. Not to mention that he was better than anyone else.

With a sigh, Kirus flipped open his PDA and entered into the case file a new point: 'Vectier's death - linked to Cerberus - killer possible Cerberus operative'
He had a feeling that this case was about to get under his thick turian skin. It was the kind of case that was going to find him looking over his shoulder at every turn. He walked back to his office and sat behind his desk, pulling up files on the holographic screen in front of him. Another sleepless night, it seemed.

Kirus' eyes were getting heavy and he couldn't focus them, or his mind, on the words and numbers that floated before him on the holographic displays. More than once he found himself jerking up from a half-sleep. He knew he needed to rest, but there were still so many unanswered questions...so many...unanswered...
-----------
CLANK.
Kirus awoke with a start, his right mandible sore from being stuck under his head while he slept, face-down, on the desk. It twitched back and forth, wrestling the tightness out of the muscle that served it. It was the turian equivalent of a sore jaw. His deep copper eyes adjusted as the lights came back up for the day cycle. The sound that woke him had come from the door. He stretched his sore muscles - sleeping on a desk wasn't the most comfortable place - and stood up to check his door, which he'd locked before setting to work, which is why it hadn't opened for the object that had struck it.
His three-digit hand reached out to touch the glowing red button and unlock the door. The light turned green and the door sensed his presence at the door, opening automatically. He looked down at the floor, where he had assumed an object thrown against the door would have landed. Nothing there, but as the door opened, a scratching sound could be heard from the top segment, and when the door was completely open, a PDA fell to the floor. Kirus picked up the device and inspected it.
There was a weak magnetic clamp attached to the backside of the PDA, which was why it had stuck to the door, then fallen off when the door opened. Kirus poked his head into the hallway and looked out both directions, hoping to catch sight of the person who'd left it. His eyes narrowed, and he stopped a fellow turian C-Sec officer who was walking towards him on patrol. "Cenus, did you see who left this on my door?" Kirus asked, holding out the device inquisitively. The other officer looked it over carefully, slinging his rifle over his shoulder and leaning forward to inspect it.
"Hmm. No, I didn't. I just arrived back on this floor. No one unusual around. It must have been just now, there was nothing on your door on my last round through," the other turian told him, one eyebrow cocked upwards in puzzlement.
"Huh...thanks," Kirus said, turning back towards his office. Cenus stopped him with a hand on his shoulder.
"Everything all right, Kirus? You want me to go to surveillance and find out?" the turian asked, concern in his voice.
"Would you? I've got to see what's on it. Could be important. If you find out who it was, see if you can have enforcement bring them in," Kirus requested. Cenus nodded and started to leave, but turned sideways as he walked to talk over his shoulder.
"You're coming out to Flux tonight, right? It's Karrin's retirement party. Longest-serving Salarian on the force, almost 15 years. He's turning 34, you know - keeps saying he's 'too old for this s**t,' ha-ha-ha!"
"Yeah, I'll be there. 1500 hours, right?" Kirus answered, and Cenus nodded and waved as he turned to walk away and check with surveillance.
Kirus returned to his office, switching the PDA on and going through the files. "...Ho-lee shi-"

Milky Way Galaxy Widow Cluster Citadel Executor Pallin's Office
"What do you mean, 'I'm off the case'?! I'm a nathak's snout-hair away from a major break!" Kirus near-shouted, slamming his three-fingered fists down on the Executor's desk. Pallin sat calmly on the other side, hands folded in front of him.
"My hands are tied, Kirus. The Council itself has intervened. One of the names on that OSD you showed me is an important player in an ongoing investigation that you're not authorized to be involved in. I'm reassigning you to the red sand op. I need more people looking into the Lower Wards dealers. Your case is going up to the Council for evaluation. They'll probably give it to a Spectre," Pallin told the other turian, his disdain for Special Tactics and Reconnaissance obvious in his voice.
Kirus moved away from the desk, shaking his head aggressively, and opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't bring himself to say anything and risk a reprimand from his boss. All that he could manage was a resentful growl. Pallin saw the anger in his subordinate, and sighed sympathetically, unfolding his hands and shrugging in a gesture of helplessness. "Look, I don't like it any more than you do - you know I'm not a big supporter of the Spectres, but the Council has made their wishes clear. They don't want a C-Sec officer carrying out this investigation, even if he is the best damn detective I've got. You're a good agent, Kirus, but this goes beyond your clearance. There's nothing I can do about it."
"Alright, alright...send me the details on the red sand op, I'll see what I can dig up," Kirus finally responded, turning and walking out of the office, in an even worse mood than he was before he received the OSD. He could have expected to get pulled off the case, with so much classified information hampering his investigation. It would be easier for a Spectre, who didn't have to wade through clearance nonsense to get the information he needed. Still, he wasn't giving this up that easily.
Kirus returned to his office, and sat down at his desk. He'd copied the OSD onto his office's internal hard drive, in an encoded file, just in case this happened. The mods developer, the salarian he worked with, Vectier's death, Gibbson's brother and Cerberus, they were all connected. He just had to connect the dots, and see the bigger picture they created. He knew he might get court-martialled for continuing the investigation, but he also couldn't let it go. He sent a message to Gibbson's home, which he found in the directory. He typed in the following:
"Serviceman; New info RE: Vectier's death. Meet in Lower Wards access @ 1800hrs. -Ezran."

((Mike ain't posting, and I want to get this story moving. So I'll be taking matters into my own hands for the time being.))
Milky Way Galaxy FTL Transit SSV Iroquois
Whitfield was silent. "Message?" In the aftermath of the extraction, he hadn't thought to check his messages. Normally people would send him voice communication through either his suit's personal COM or the Iroquois' ship-wide COM system. If Joker had kept it out of the public view, it was important. Asking Joker to discuss it alone in his quarters was out of the question. Joker was more or less confined to the cockpit by his case of Vrolik's syndrome. The Cockpit was really the most secure part of the ship to have the discussion. Not to mention that the crew wouldn't hear them if they kept their voices low. He accessed his Omni-Tool and accessed his personal COM. There was one text-only message. He opened it and quickly scanned the message Joker snagged as well as his thoughts on the matter. His brows creased in a frown and he regarded Joker with a somewhat hostile expression. "What are you suggesting here Joker? That Councilor Anderson is engaged in top-secret communications with some unknown party? At best it's most likely an Alliance issue."
The Pilot was silent for a moment, carefully choosing his words. Something about his expression made Whitfield uneasy. Perhaps it was the fact that he was gazing off into space, or perhaps it was the fact that Joker knew more than he was letting on. The idea that his pilot was lying to him was bad enough, but the possibility that Whitfield didn't know the complete picture was worse. Whitfield was the captain, and as such it was his responsibility to keep everyone safe. If any member of his crew died, it was his fault. He needed to know as much about any given situation as possible in order to do his job. "Captain, I'm going to break clearance to tell you this, but only because I think it's worth knowing. I know where the Mu Relay is. And I know that this message was sent through the Extranet to a VI-controlled probe waiting outside that relay. There's only one thing worth visiting on the other side of the Mu Relay." "Ilos." Ilos wasn't a secret. Almost everyone had heard of the lost Prothean world. The legendary Mu Relay had been lost ever since a supernova pushed it into deep space. The Relay had drifted until it had entered unexplored space. If Joker was telling the truth and he knew how to get to the Mu Relay it was only because he had been there before. The only way he could have been there before was during Shepard's pursuit of Saren. "You've been there. The Council obviously knows about it, and so would Councilor Anderson. Joker what exactly, are you suggesting?" "I'm suggesting that Shepard might be alive."
Whitfield had heard enough. Joker and Shepard had been friends, and had served together during some of the most trying times either of them had ever seen. It wasn't unreasonable to believe that Joker wouldn't accept his friend's death. "That's enough Joker. Shepard is dead, there wasn't even enough of him left to bury. I know it hurts, but you can't let your personal feelings cloud your judgement or endanger the mission. We have a job to do. Just get us back to the Citadel." Soldiers died, it was something he had learned while serving in the Alliance. That was something that couldn't be helped. Even heroes like Shepard died. Unlike Admiral Jon Grissom, who had been kept close to humanity, Shepard was still serving what amounted to front-line duty. He was constantly in harms way, not safe behind the protective arms of the Alliance. He may have been humanity's hero, but his role in stopping Saren had been downplayed by the alien media. He wasn't important to them, and in some instances he was more of a threat. For the batarians, it was all too obvious. He had stopped them from attacking a human colony, they wanted payback. Joker was silent, and probably fuming. Whitfield wanted to believe that Joker was right, that Shepard was alive somewhere, on some top-secret mission, but the facts were against it. The odds of Shepard surviving an explosion like that were easily over one million to one. Of course, Shepard always had been lucky. He had survived on Akuze when no other members of his squad had. He had also defeated Saren and an army of geth, nearly single-handedly. Hell, he'd been chosen as the first human spectre, that in and of itself took some luck. Regardless of the matter of Shepard's existence, they needed to get Hayes back to the Citadel. The doctor might not have been guilty of conspiring with pirates or knowingly aiding the batarians, but news of his involvement would doubtlessly have spread among the terminus systems and the shadier parts of council space. He wouldn't stand a chance without the protection of the council. Without another word, he turned and left Joker to fly the Iroquois. The Captain left the command deck and entered his cabin. Whitfield wasn't sure whether or not to include the information about Joker's observation in his report. To avoid any potential problems, he opted against it. Joker was a good man and a good pilot, there was no sense in having him removed from service for wishing his friend was still alive.

Milky Way Galaxy Norveria Port Hanshan, Mezzanine.
Sitting there at a computer in the lounge of the Mezzanine hotel, quietly, was a young female Quarian. She was looking through exclusive bounties. See, she sometimes sunk low enough to do bounty hunting, on the rare occasion. She usually went for the ones no one else would go for. It was a lot easier that way, no one else around to get in the way of the prize. She seemed to be the only one who thought that way, and she was glad of it. She found one that paid a good sum, and sent a message to the contractor. Moments later, she got the details she needed; location, name, images. She looked at the location first.
//>> Exodus Cluster /> Asgard System /> Loki //>> "The Scout." Ex-Commander of the System Alliance. Turian. //>> Click to view images
She had recently obtained a ship for hire, with a small crew. So she sent the co-ordinates to ship and made her way there. She picked up her weapons at the dock check in. She got to the ship, it was small, named the Axium Galva. It was silver and red, of asari design it seemed, but must of been recolored a few times. She made her way on board and sat in the captain's chair.
"Lets go."

Milky Way Galaxy Horse Head Nebula Mass Relay via Exodus Cluster.
The Axium Galva arrived at the Mass Relay, the co-ordinates were sent through. A light blue beam that was like lightning took hold of the ship, rippling power bounced around the ship, and threw it at light speed through space, like a paper plane thrown with no mercy. The ship arrived within minutes. Coming in at a sudden halt as it was caught by a similar beam at the Relay located in the Exodus Cluster. The head pilot put in the next lot of co-ordinates for Loki, in which they made their way to.
The entered the gravitational pull of the planet and put the orbit in sync. Dela called up the two mercenaries that worked with her on an occasional basis. They went over the details of what the guy they were after was capable of, and worked out plans on how to approach and capture the bounty. They then got their hazard grade armor, equipment and weaponry. All suited up, Dela looked walked over to the others.
"Alright, all set?"
"Yeah, we are ready to go."
They got into the M35 Mako, and were launched down to the planet's surface. When they landed, the M35 hit the iced surface with a thud, and the iced cracked a bit. They drove in the general direction where they knew The Scout would be.
