さいしょ ⇒ 最初
さいしょう ⇒ 最小
The meanings are different. The first would be along the lines of "the beginning"; the second would be "the smallest". I think what you were going for in your post is the first word, and not the second. wink

Freakezette ... "how am I suppose to learn this?" Get a little dry erase board, that's what I do, write the kanji as much as I can. Ima, Yasumi ni shite-imasu. Gakki wa 1-getsu 18 nichi ni hajimasu. Daigaku de, yasumi wa nagai keredomo, kurasu wa muzukashii desu yo. Senshuu no kinyoobi, Nyuu Ii-aa-su (New Years? no idea how that would be in katakana) paatii e ikimashita. Nihongo no kurasu-meeto mo imashita. Tanoshikata desu. How many years have you been taking Japanese? I'm going to start my third year as a high school sophmore- I've been taking it since the eighth grade. I'm very fortunate, along with the rest of my class, because we have a great Japanese program at my school. I'm so happy- the teachers are really nice, especially to the Japan Bowl group and JNHS peebles. We did pretty well in the Japan Bowl; I was captain of the second year team and we got 5th nation-wide. I could rant about the terrible caucasian judge who misheard my answer and cost us getting into the top three and going to finals- but I won't. ^^; Don't the Japanese already have a word for "New Years?" All I know is that when you say Happy New Years it's "Akemashite Omedetou" ~ Iono. Erm... I guess I'll do some chatting Nihongode! in my next post- but this one is waayy too long. ^^;

このツレードに興味がなさそうですけれども、なんか行ってみた方が良いかなと思います。話題があれば、自然に会話できるじゃないでしょうか。
ギルドの学生はもうすぐ学校へ戻ります。秋学期を楽しみにしていますか。授業の事でも良いし、学校で行なう事でも良いです。

It's very hard to read the kanji characters with lots of strokes...they are just bunched together....bah humbug. well, I'll put in roomaji for now...if anyone knows of good places for japanese fonts, please PM me to let me know...

ええと、私の専門は"East Asian Language &Culture".だから,中国語も習います。日本語
はフォケスです。

ああ、分かりました。私の専攻は日本語ですけれども、中国語か韓国語を習わなければなりません。名前は違いますが、学ぶことは同じだと思います。東アジアの歴史、文化、言語などを習いますから。
月曜日、中国語を習い始まります。しかし、留学する前に勉強したらと思います。５月に卒業へ無事に行けるかどうか分かりません。不明な未来へ…
