(stupid verb tenses and their math...)Because I was whining that the pic of Dani didn't turn out the way I wanted it to because I didn't use my usual stick figures, to show her what I meant I decided to do a kind of tutorial. It's just a step-by-step thing of a pic I've been wanting to do all day anyway.
xd Step 1 (Work Safe)
Step 1 is of course the stick figure. I always start off with the head, getting it at the angle I want first, and proportioning the rest of the body to it. (Shut up that my proportions are off, I know! I never said I was perfect... >.> ) This isn't so much a stick figure as it is a stick and ball figure, really, since I use balls for the joints. This is the stage where I determine the pose for the end result as well. Although as we'll see, it's not entirely set in stone.
Step 2 (Work Safe)
Step 2 is where I add the "cylinders and shapes" to get the general outline of a basic human body. At this point I also add the facial features, mostly so if I have to stop for a while at this point I can remember what gender the figure was.
xd I'll also make some minor adjustments to proportions here, and probably do some "fleshing out" without even realizing it.
Step 3 (NSFW)
Step 3 is where I'm
supposed to do all of my fleshing out. This is where I add the gender-defining features (b00bs! 8D) and make this thing look less like a mannequin and more like a person. You also get to see why feet are my mortal enemies!
Step 4 (NSFW)
Step 4 I go into more detail. I add the rest of the hair, accessories, and the all-important FINGERS! I also play with the things that don't really work, like the feet. It's pretty much always the feet... This is also where I would add clothes, but since this is gonna be Janex in the nude, well, clothes are over-rated. >:3 Also notice I changed the position of her arm so it's under her head.
Step 5(NSFW - moved to my DeviantArt page because Photobucket doesn't like teh nekkidz and removed it

And here's where I do the final detailing and get the pic ready for inking/scanning. I erase all the lines I don't need, maybe add a few more details here and there. Sometimes I erase minor details without realizing it... >.> Poor Janex is missing a n****e.
xd Usually I catch it and add them back in (I actually had to erase the entire hand to get rid of lines I didn't need), but nipples are unimportant details, right? Right!? >.>
Anyway, that's how you draw like Mizu. n_n Don't try this at home without adult supervision and fire extinguishers, kids
