Aramil manages to struggle to his knees and with a snarl and an angry wave of his hand bats off any help the lady might try and offer

"I don't need your help, I don't need anyones help!" He snarls, his voice is mean and hatefull yet burried deep underneath it is very sad and lonely. Pulling upward on his staff Aramil gaunt wraithlike form manages to stand and he manages to stumble into a seat.

Between his coughing fits his manages to spit out a quick appology to the Lady who tried to help him "I'm sorry about being so rude ma'am, I'm just not used to being around people, especially anyone who cared about my well being..." his cut off by another coughing attack which eventually subsides

Her hands had not met him resolutely as he pushed her palms away, causing her to fall back somewhat. But she leveled herself out with her staff as it rested soundly upon the velvet carpeting. His words had stung clearly, as she watched him rise, worry still apparent within her gaze. I.. I didn't mean to impede... Her thoughts were not voiced as she just watched in silence, ocean optics seeming somewhat regretful, yet still certain with apprehension. Though his message seemed to be harsh and intending to send her away, there seemed to be underlying emotions.

She soon knelt upon one of her knees, lightly brushing herself off with her left hand and adjusting her wings out of habit. As his apology came, she felt somewhat relieved, but continued to watch him as he followed through with his continuos coughs, in what seemed to be an endless attack. "It's all right... it's just, you seem really ill. I hadn't meant to invade your space if I had." Some thoughts began to pass through her mind as a short silence had fallen between them. "Are you feeling all right," she questioned curiously.

He nods "I am as alright as I am ever going to get miss...?" He stands and offers her a hand up "I've had these attacks ever since" his voice dies "for a while, I've had them for a while and I've gotten used to them, well as used to them as you ever can get" he says a smile actually appearing on his face "Now miss, I believe you are one of the new students since I don't recognize your face, and its not in my nature to forget faces"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 07, 2005 11:01 pm

"Oh, I see," she lightly murmured. As his hand was offered as a lift from the ground, she placed her staff within her left as her right gingerly grasped his. She soon used his aid as she pulled herself into a standing position. As she found herself erect in her standing position, she carefully released his hand. Her ears seemed almost perked as she listened intently, as he revealed somewhat bit of information behind his attacks. She noticed that his statement had died away, though finished towards the end. There was something hidden that he wished not to speak about, but it left her within a mist of quandary. But as he broke away from the subject, he seemed to rest upon the fact that she was a new student.

A light smile did grace her lips, though it seemed not as remarkable as a change as what blithe expression he made now. "You are right Sir, I'm not one of the usual students here, I had just come to Ria on Sunday. A bit late a night, so most would have not seen me, except for the androids within the girls' dormitory." She cut that story short as she wanted to hopefully commence a formal greeting. So she reached out her right hand towards him, offering a friendly hand shake. "By the way, my name is Lenair Malchrist. What is yours... if you don't mind my asking?"

"It is an honor to meet you miss, I am sorry that I was rude and did not introduce myself earlier. I am Aramil Nailo, the resident Archmagus of Ria" he says with a bow, gently elevating her hand to kiss it

He quickly glances at the staff she carried with her "Are you a magus yourself miss? The staff you carry would seem to indicate that you are..." he asks his interest perked for the first time in a long while
PostPosted: Wed Jun 08, 2005 4:30 pm

Gradually, her smile broadened as he introduced himself. Ah... so he also knows magic. She did not hold the title of being a magus herself, but she found herself to be rather sagacious and accumulating in knowledge and skill within the elements she practiced. A light crimson flush did besmirch her cheeks as he kissed her hand in a welcoming manner, but it did not tarry upon her face as she gently allowed her arm to fall limply at her side. "It's a pleasure to meet you Aramil, also, there is no need for further apologies." Her ocean optics caught the gaze that was expeditiously pointed towards her staff, and she became relatively more curious.

But his inquiry and later statement settled her curiosity, and her expression grew in a pensive mien. "Well," she began, "I'm not a magus... but I do practice and study the arts of wind and water elemental magic. Also, due to my heritage, I am gifted with holy magic." The eye at the base of her staff remained at rest as before, having the semblance of inertness, though it was clearly aware of her departure from the dorm. She would not go upon the topic of its origin, unless asked, though she felt hesitant about it entirely. Still, for the first time since their meeting, she peered inquisitively at his own staff, noting the distinct sublime and bedraggled attributes it held; he was obviously a magus himself.

As her gaze returned towards his own face, question seemed apparent upon her guise. "But, you are a magus then, right?"

He nods "An Archmagus is my complete title" he says a slight smile playing on the sides of his mouth "Unlike you masters of the elements we focus on..." he stops talking and grins "Why am I explaining a Magus to you? You obviously know what we are and what we can do"

"So what brings you to this school? Most students have a story, most of the time it's tragic. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm probing, I'm just curious about you" he stops abruptly "Okay that was just way out of line, I barely know you and I have no right to be interogating you"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 08, 2005 5:31 pm

Her ears were alert as she continued to listen, quite intrigued by the fact that he was an Archmagus himself. Though he was certainly the first she had encountered, she was sure that there were others who focused upon magic and the elements on the campus. A soft and hearty chuckle would bubble from the pit of her stomach as he sounded confident that she too knew of what a magus was; which in fact she did. Though her usual studies only revolved around angels and the history of humans, she was able to fit in other magic users and races such as fairies, elves, and demons. "Yes, but I wouldn't have minded your explanation."

"Since you are a genuine Archmagus yourself, you probably know more about your kind than I." She nodded definitely, to confirm his own accurateness. But as he changed the subject to something a bit more personal and directed at her entirely, she seemed a tad bit surprised. Of course, she did not mind telling him her reasoning for going to the school, he wasn't exactly asking about her parents. But she caught him after his final statement. "Oh, no, it's alright. I don't mind telling you, it's always good to be curious about something." "What had led me to this school... isn't all that tragic.

I came from a congregation, one in which nuns took care of children. It didn't matter whether they were runaways or not, all were accepted, including myself." She grew somewhat hesitant, as she thought to delve somewhat into what led her into a life within the church. "But," she began slowly," before living in the church there... I came from a family, you know... with a mother and father." Her eyes seemed to fall down towards the base of her staff, she held a concentrative look within her eyes as she further continued. "They... they had been killed. Their murderers I'd rather not mention... but, from there, the nuns had found me, along with this staff that I now hold. It had belonged to my father."

"As I grew up within the church, I was later able to discover my latent powers, as I continue to do so now. The nuns felt it better that I be sent away, since they had no way of allowing me to advance there... so they told me to come here, to Ria." She became silent after that, having recalled something unpleasant. Though her eyes seemed placed intently upon the staff, they appeared dulled and almost lost within a nostalgic daze.

He nods and smiles sympathetically throughout her story, but when she mentons the staff he stares intently at it "That staff is quite old, it has an Aura of light around it, You father was either good friends with an Angel or he was one himself. It is a unique artifact, one of great power, guard it with your life my friend because it is far more valuable than you realize, but maybe you know all this..." he pauses to think carefuly before going on

His expression changes, like he was hit by a bolt of lightning "Oh! You want me to explain a Magus to you a bit more? Well as you know most people use elemental magic, be it holy, water or the like. Some of us use non elemental magic, and the little elemental magic we do dabble into is basic, throwing a fireball or calling down hail. We also must prepare our spells each day, so I have to sit down and decide what I am going to cast each day. Also each spell I cast quickly tires me, if I overcast myslef it leads to those spasms you saw and possibly death. Power always comes with a price. The G-ds put these limits on us so we didnt become powerful enough to destroy all that they created."

"But since you told me of your own history let me tell you a bit of mine. I was born to a normal family as well a mother and a father" he says with a smile "I was gifted with magic at a young age, which only makes sense being raised in a family of Elven Loremasters. I came across this thing" he says motioning at his worn oak staff "But thats another story, but I digress, where was I? Oh yes when Caesar destroyed the library at Alexandria my parents died trying to save the ancient scripts. After that I walked the world seeking all the knowledge I could and one day hoping to raise the lost library, over the years my search has brought me here. I would fill in the two thousand years or so between my parents death and my coming here, but we hardly have the time and I doubt you want to hear it. But enough of my long winded rants"

As he spoke once again, her daze was broken, and she glanced towards him with renewed interest, but her smile was lost for the moment. She gazed at him in awe, as he seemed to understand the staff's pulse and life force, and how it tied with her father being an angel. She nodded lightly, her expression remaining light as a diminutive smile was salvaged from her former guise. "Wow, you're right, but you see, as my father did have friends that were angels, he was an angel himself. He is the reason that I have these appendages." She brought her right hand up, pointing towards the pair of creamy and heavily feathered wings that sprouted from the center of her back.

"But, I have been guarding it, as it also protects me... the nuns had told me once that as they were to leave without me, my staff spoke to them. It wanted to be taken along for it knew that its former owner had died, so it only rightfully had to be handed down to me." Lenair's gaze fell towards her staff, in a concentrative manner once again. You... are such an enigma... I don't understand your true significance... but even until I find out, I'll never part with you. As though having an ESP moment with Lenair, the staff pulsed within her right hand, causing her to jolt slightly.

She blinked a bit repetitively, but soon returned her gaze towards Aramil as he began to elaborate on his kind, the Magi. As he talked in a very charismatic way, Lenair couldn't help but allow her smile to spread. But after he had come to a closing with his explanation, she made a short comment. "I relate in the way... in which you would possibly die or have an attack. But.. instead, when I tire, I become human. Even then, I'm quite venerable." As her comment ended, she listened intently as he graced her with his own history, and her own intrigue increased dramatically.

He too had lost his parents, but it seemed a much longer time ago. Ah... no wonder, heh, I thought he was an elf. His aura had a incongruous twist that stood out rather vociferously, and she could only guess from a handful of races as to what he could be. Though she hadn't meant to be rude, she found herself laughing blithely towards the end of his story. But she soon shielded her mouth with her left hand, not wanting to seem rude as she suppressed her remaining giggles. "I'm sorry... your story is really quite amazing, I would have never guessed you to come from Librarian bearings. But...you seem to have lived quite a long life. Then again, you would since you are an elf."

Aramil nods "Yes I do know about living for a long time Miss Lenair. Most would call it a blessing, but I can remember every event in my life, in perfect detail, when you have some memories you just don't want to remember some things trust me..." his voice cracks be he quickly recovers his composer

Lenair grimaced as she felt there had been error within her tone, and she seemed apologetic within her expression. "I would never understand how having a long life is viewed... but it seems that it has left you with a hurtful past. I'm sorry to have brought that up, but I certainly believe you on that." She knew that any pain within her life couldn't compare to the memories he would have to live with, for what would seem an eternity. "But... even distracting yourself as to not become nostalgic may not help all the time. I've tried... and I've prayed to forget certain things. But there always seems to be a bit of significance behind each indelible memory. No matter how painful they may be..." She ended her statement there, not wanting him to feel further troubled. "Aramil," she gradually began, "how has life been for you here at Ria?"

"Life at Ria has been rather enlightning. I have seen many sights, some so gorgeous that they blind you, others so hideous that you will beg for death, I have felt love and loss, life and death. I have made some of my best friends and worst enemys here. In short, I wouldn't give up this experience for the world." he sighs "Things will get tough and you may ask yourself if its worth going on, but you have to remember what others gave to allow you to come here and experience everything, the good and the bad. When you leave the rut of self pitty and degridation you will have learned one of the many lessons Ria has to offer." he stops to let her absorb his slight lecture and to cough slightly
