"I don't know that I can leave him... I just.. I just can't stay here. I've already messed things up. I can't just stay," Esole said quietly. She felt so weak. She was too soft to be an Aes Sedai. She couldn't even leave her own Warder for his safety.

Kiae was quickly growing tired of this. She had a Warder killed and Esole yelled at her to stop being a baby, but she was supposed to show sympathy for Esole? "I don't think so," she thought grimly, never really able to forgive Esole for her cruelness at that moment. "Stop whining and make up your mind. If you leave he'll be in more danger, because I guarantee he won't want to be my Warder any longer. At least he's not dead, like mine," she said sharply. "Stop being such a pathetic, Light-blasted sod and get a backbone. You're Aes Sedai, try not to embarrass us too much more," she ordered, frowning down at the woman.

Esole's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "And she says I have a temper," Esole thought ruefully. She looked into the Yellow's eyes, what looked like hatred etched in her eyes stared back at her. "I will be around," she said calmly before untying the reins of her horse and walking away down the street. She would show Kiae. She would take care of Melthin herself. A short distance away she found a promising inn called The Lady's Bard. She handed over her horse's reins to the stableboy and went into the inn through the stable entrance. She quickly spotted the innkeeper, a short rotund man with a greasy apron standing near the bar, glaring at all the barmaids.

"I'd like your best single room," Esole said in an imperial tone, looking down at the sweaty man. He nodded and mumbled on about how he had the best rooms around as he led her upstairs. She tuned him out until they reached her room where he told her over and over how if she needed anything all she had to do was ask. She blandly told him her thanks and promptly shut the door in his face. She wasn't much in the mood for dealing with people a the moment. All she wanted was to sleep in a nice warm bed. She just wasn't looking forward to having to buy all the necessities once she awoke. She hadn't worried about it before because she knew Melthin would tend to it, but now she had to take care of herself. She wasn't a child afterall.

Esole undid her dress and fell asleep almost immediately.

"Pathetic. Well, at least it got her away from me," Kiae thought, shaking her head. She lightly probed her Bond with Ethin, wondering if he would talk to her if she asked, then paused. He was angry with her, or something near it, and she wasn't entirely sure why. Shaking her head again, this time at herself, she began to head down the street and turned a corner to head closer to a rather dingy-looking stall. Stopping the gelding next to it, she dismounted and held tightly onto the reins as she approached the man running it, who looked as dingy as his stall.
"Good to know you're still in business," she remarked, surprising him. He turned and blinked a few times before smiling, appearing to be more than twice her apparent age.
"Kiae! Good to see you again, I was just telling the missus I thought you might be back in the city soon," the man - Jarel - began. She raised an eyebrow and came closer.
"And why would that be?" she asked, as he innocently attended to items for sale. He glanced up at her with a grin.
"Because odd things are going on in the city," he told her.
"Odd? Like what?" she asked, listening intently to what the man said. He was one of her contacts, a man who worked in the White Tower for a time before moving to the city, someone who knew how to listen to things unsaid.
"Strange people moving in and out of the walls. Might be Darkfriends, but they're not as obvious as some," Jarel began, hiding his words with a grin and gestures as if showing her things. "Accidents in the noble household, some say murder."
"Hm..." Kiae pondered this for a moment before nodding. "All right. I'll be back shortly to see what else you find out. This is for now," she added, handing him several gold coins which he eagerly took. She listened to idle gossip for a bit - one never knew what might be important - before taking her leave and heading down another street, keeping a sharp eye out for suspicious idlers.

Just a few small words on a possibility of what might be and she had run. Melthin had tried to go after her to asure her that he would not do anything to Ethin yet he had lost her. I am truly a fool. What happened afterwards was uncertain. Melthin wanderd in a haze to a tavern, ordered something stong and sat there drinking. His mind a sorrowfull mess. She hates me. I can feel her sorrow and anger. Why was I such a fool, thinking of only the possibilities and not of her feelings on the matter. Creator, if you hear me, burn me. Burn me until I'm nothing but ash and then burn the ashes! He tried to think of some way to clear the matter up but nothing that came to his mind seemed to help. No matter what he did, he would seem like the demon. Deciding on the simplest course of action, he payed for the drink and wandered off to find Ethin and Kiae. It is time that this sorrow is ended. I was living on borrowed time as it is. Hopefully she will not suffer.

Marek sighed. The shouting next door had woken him, and he was unable to go back asleep. Sighing, he got out of bed, resheathing his staff blade and putting on his too short cloak which was perfect for his stooped posture. Then again, he back still hurt from his escapade yesterday. Sighing, he unpinned the bottom of the cloak, so that it reached his ankles. Walking out, still leaning on his staff, without the cursed stoop, he sat down in the eating area, ordering himself a little bit of food.

Esole woke slowly, the light from the sun beaming down on her from the open curtains. "Bloody fool maids! Opening the flaming curtains on a sleeping woman!" Esole grumbled angrily. She sat up on her bed and put on her dress, slowly doing up the buttons in the back. She spared a glance at her hair, not too bad, and went down to main room of the inn. Esole ordered herself a bowl of stew and ate it in a matter of minutes. She did not feel filled but there was much too many things to do today for her to sit around eating stew. She hustled out of the inn, coinpurse in hand, and walked down the road. Esole noticed that she had found herself an inn in the finer quarters of Cairhien. "Excellent," she mumbled with a small smile. There were sure to be a great deal of fine dress makers around this area. And just as she thought it, she came upon a promising one, the Lady's Choice.

"Pardon mistress but I am in dire need of a few dresses as soon as you can make them," Esole said to the woman behind the counter. She looked up at Esole from her sewing, eyes peaking above the glasses that were perched upon her crooked nose. The woman arched a gray eyebrow at Esole. She was an older woman. Her graying hair tied back in thick braid with loose hair sticking up here and there. She had piercing green eyes and slightly plump physique. She looked promising.

After looking Esole up and down, the woman smiled. "Why yes of course. Anything for an Aes Sedai," the woman said warmly. Her smile widened at the shocked look on Esole face. "Oh silly me. I am Maretha. I was once a secretary in the Tower. But I grew tired of writing all day everyday so I came here to fulfill my heart's desire - sewing," Maretha said with a proud smile.

Esole returned the one's welcoming look. "Ah, the explains it seeing as how I haven't quite gotten the ageless look. Oh my! How rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself. I am Esole Estaan of the Green Ajah. It is a pleasure to meet you Mistress Maretha," Esole said, extending a hand towards the woman. Maretha returned the gesture and shook her hand. A firm but soft grip. She was a woman who knew who and what she was. Esole smiled. The woman would be of great use to her. "Now about my dresses..."

"Oh yes of course, Aes Sedai. Let's get you fitted and we'll have you pick out a few fabrics and you can be on your way with dresses ready to pick up tomorrow," the woman informed her. And within minutes Maretha had fitted her an guided her through her fabrics. "Now I know you have many things to do, being an Aes Sedai and whatnot. Go now. Get on. Be back tomorrow at noon and your dresses will be ready," Maretha told her. Esole handed her several gold crowns before departing from the seamstress's. She headed down the road, not sure where to start next, so she wandered aimlessly down the streets of Cairhien.

Ethin looked up from his mug groggily. "Blood and ashes," he mumbled. He had fallen asleep at the table and no one had bothered to wake him. He felt around, making sure nothing was removed from his person. Surprisingly enough, everything was as it was the night before. Knives in place, belt purse still full at his waist and his sword still attached at his hip. He stood up slowly, a painful headache already beginning, and walked up to his room. A tub full of warm water was in the center of the room. He smiled slightly at the sight and took the next hour readying himself for the day. Once he was ready, he made sure to eat some reenroot to put a swift end to his headache.

Ethin headed out of the inn and went in search of Kiae. He came upon the general area of where she was but decided it would be best to give her her space - at least for the time being - so he went into the nearest inn and had himself some breakfast.

Marek eyed the Warder from the other day walking out of the inn after waking up from what looked like a drunken sleep. Sighing, Marek followed after the lad clicking his staff on the ground. He didn't like to meddle with Aes Sedai affairs anymore, but this kid needed some sense smacked into him. Just to test how aware the man was, he made his trailing obvious, well, obvious for him at least... Most people wouldn't notice it, even if they were looking for him but he was pretty sure a Warder would if they were alert like they were supposed to be. Again a sigh, as the man entered yet another inn. Instead of following the man in, he leaned up against one side of the outside doorway, waiting for him to come back out, fidgeting a little bit with his staff, and handing the bouncer a silver crown to stop bothering him for loitering.

Ethin noted the old man's arrival. He had noticed his following him but chose to let it continue. It wasn't like he was doing anything of import that he could be blackmailed for.

Ethin wiped the corner of his lips of stew and waved the man over. "Oy! Come join me, won't you?" Ethin called with a smile. He hated being alone. It would be ncie to have someone to talk to.

"Master," He heard as he drifted in and out of a haze. It was faint yet it pulled at him. "Master Geo-" It had gotten louder this time with a little more of his alias included. Who is that? I must tell them I do not wish to wake. Thus was the scene, Bartello standing over his master who lay slumped over his desk and waiving his hand daintily to shoo away the pesky servant. Bartello put his arms on Melthin's shoulders and proceeded to shake him rather forcefully until the thin man woke. And wake he did, with a rather loud start. "Unhand me knave or prepare to feel balefire shatter your existence!" I took him a good five minutes before he remembered that he was in his home and had been shaken by his most trusting servant.

"Forgive me Mi'Lord but I came to inform you that the morning meal is getting cold. Are you alright?" Melthin shook his head to somewhat clear the daze of his odd night away. "Yes Bartello, I am fine. Just a little groggy is all. I'll be up to claim the meal once I have awoken enough to move again." Bartello nodded and returned through the passage, deciding to make the same dish over again as he knew the current dish would indeed be cold by the time his master came up.

Melthin sat there, contemplating what he could possibly do to calm Esole and return her to him. Ethin will not help me, he trusts me about as much as Kiae. Kiae won't help for the very same reason. Bartello would not be able to do it, She hardly knows the man to give him the time of day. Perhaps I should take a slight chance and give Ethin a try. "if anything he will flay me where I stand..." Melthin smiled at the thought before he rose from his seat and prepared to head out in search of him.

Marek raised an eyebrow. So the lad had noticed him. Supposed it didn't hurt to go sit next to him. Clicking his staff on the floor, he didn't bother to stoop his back even in front to the Warder who had seen him so. Nothing was worth the back pain he had last night...and this morning. Sitting down across from the boy, he laid the walking stick in front of him lengthways on the table. Taking a look around again, he asked, "So where are the women you're escorting?"

(Did Marek introduce himself when he first met them at the gates?)

Ethin waved over a waitress and asked for two mugs of ale. The woman smiled and winked and brought him the two ales he requested.

"Ah, the women. They are around Cairhien. Esole is probably running errands and Kiae is nearby," Ethin said dismissively. He took a big gulp of his ale and raised his mug to the other man's. "To men," Ethin said, waiting with a smile for Marek to return his toast.

((Heh, no))

Marek had to stop him self from raising an eyebrow at both the man's attitude and at the ale for breakfast. Not saying a word or changing his facial expression, he simply went along, and followed the motion. "Aye to that." Sipping at the ale, he turned his neck first one way then the other, get out a pretty loud pop from both sides. He was never doing that stoop thing again.

(Okay just wanted to make sure. And we're still quoting because everyone is seperated.)

Ethin watched the man over his mug. "Pardon the alcohol in the morning. Had a bit of a rough patch last night," Ethin said between gulps. He set the mug down and called a serving woman over for a glass of grape juice. He figured it wouldn't bring him a good image if he kept up drinking as he was.

"And I am Ethin by the way. What brings you to Cairhien, my friend?" Ethin asked, hoping to make small conversation.

Marek shrugged, "Curiosity for the most part." He supposed that he should introduce himself. "Well, my name is Marek." He began to drum his fingers lightly on the table, not partaking in the rest of his mug of ale. "Curious thing have been happening lately around the continent."
