Kurai cocked an eyebrow, still letting a smile play on her lips. "I see better than you think,"
It was a challenge of sorts. Whenever someone mentioned her disability, Kurai got competitive, feeling she needed to prove herself equal to (if not better than) the other.[just FYI if you haven't read Kurai's profile. She is the sister of Yoruichi, and they look exactly alike, except Kurai has black hair]

"So...How do you know Nico?"He asked her,he didn't mean to be noisy.He also meant to ask her if she knows about him and Nico,but he decided to go with the one question at a time thing....
But he knew one thing he was going to spar.Why?Because,that was one of the things he always used as a conversation starter.

"Nico's my senpai," Kurai replied, using the honorific for an upperclassman or mentor. "She's been helping me with my zanpaku-to arcanum,"
'Helping' might have been too soft a word for the battles she and Nico had been having. They basically went all-out, trying to slash each other to ribbons. Nico generally won, but Kurai always made her work for the win. Some day, she'd defeat the Vice Captain. She'd promised herself that the first time she'd lost.

"To the training grounds...I'll be waiting."He smiled then flash stepped away to the training grounds kicking up papers around where his feet used to be as he vanished.

Nico awoke from her state of thought and finally heard Lance leave Kuraime banging on the door.
"Kurai, you never have to nock just come in."
She must have been talking to Lance, Nico thought with rude sway of her head. She had better not said anything bad or she will awake with her head on the floor and her body in a tree. Nico giggled and picked up a paintbrush and a paper and began working on it patiently waiting for Kurai.

"Another time, Senpai," Kurai called through the door. Her hand still played impatiently on her zanpaku-to. "I'm gonna have a sparring match with your paramour, if you don't mind,"
She darted off before Nico could get in a retort, heading for the training grounds.

Nico eyes shoked open, and almost as a reflex she followed Kuraime to Lance.

Nico arrived back at her door with a blush face.
Her last accounter with Lance was tense, but it gave her a reassurance. It made her remember that he still loved her, no matter how long they had been apart. But it was still nice, a part of her liked the kiss, but the more noble part told her to wait. She wanted him here with her, so her more noble part would stop ringing her ears with complaints.
Nico pulled out her zanpactu-to from its shealth, and held it to her door. She held the blade vertical against the door. And very slowly she shaved the "T-O-E" of her door. Then under her name she wrote, "Free entrance for Lance Kuraime Rhia!" The under that she wrote,"I am sorry Lance." Nico shrugged at her handy work.
Nico opened the door and stepped threw the papers to her room. She sighed and opened the door to her bedroom. "I messed up," She whispered. She walked to her bed and laid down on cushy matress. "Maybe he will forgive me," she sighed.

Lance walked down the hall to nico's office."Free passage huh?"He read then looked down."I'm sorry?"He said now sounded confused in his book there was nothing to be sorry for....
He walked into her officeLooking around."Nico?"He called out as if asking if she was here.He looked around the office he had never been in the vice's room,before.

Nico smiled and sat up, "In here!" She yelled. She got up and walked into her office room. "Hey, Lance, thanks for coming!" She walked over to him and smiled. "Look I'm sorry, I kinda left you at a cliff hanger..."
"Look, its just, that we haven't seen each other in a while... It just was, awkward, I wasn't ready for that yet..." Nico sighed and looked down, "Maybe you can stay for dinner? We can talk about your trip, then try again?"
