Emily Kane-Living Doll

Emily sighs and walks beside Electra. New Berlin was a pretty city, yet ugly at the same time. Before the carnival she had only lived in a house. A beautiful house with blue walls and plush white carpet. Marie had a big silky canopy bed, that Emily would watch her sleep in at night. She breathed in the city air, trying to remember what Marie smelled like. Definately not like this, She thought scrunching up her nose at the smell.

After a few moments, Emily speaks to Electra. She nods. “Yes, I am ready,” she tells her, then pauses. “Ma’am wants me to relay information to you about what we are to do. The Ring Master thinks we’ll have some recruiting opportunities here. She wants us two to find them before he arrives. Do not bring anyone back this time. We just want some ideas on what’s out there. Also, New Berlin is more secure than our usual hunting grounds. If you get caught, it’s your own problem. You take care of it, just don’t cause a scene. We don’t want them tracking you back here.” Electra tells her, editing what Corin had said to make sense. She looks over Emily for a moment before walking towards New Berlin, where they were set to go.

The demolition site, now occupied by the circus, is an island of it's own. About half a city block long, the area is surrounded by a wire fence on all sides, most of that also covered by large black tarps. Once outside of these constricting walls, it is like walking through the most developed streets of a darker version of New York or Japan. The time of day works in you favour, as you imagine the streets are usually much busier then they are right now. Many sectors of New Berlin, the planet, are divided by theme. Berlin, the capital city where you now find yourselves, is actually regionally divided into 5 separate themed areas. Currently, you are in the gothic sector. As such, the buildings here are not allowed to reach over 10 stories high, and few have clearance to get even that far. The architecture is traditionally stone or brick, the streets lined with old fashioned looking street lamps. Some would say that if Jack the Ripper were to alive today, this is where he would fancy to frequent.

As you move several blocks away, you find the area slowly transitioning into a new theme. The gothic region seems to be merging with a more thriving metropolis, still dark in nature, but not as limited in style. You begin to see busier streets and neon signs lit up above huge entrances to various businesses. This seems to be something of an entertainment sector, filled with restaurants, bars, night clubs, massage parlors and the like. On the skirts of this neon jungle, you notice a large crowd hovering around one particular building, an entire city block dedicated to a structure rising a mere five stories above the street. The first noticeable aspect was the architecture; the building was cast in an ancient style of Gothic nature, with columns and grand archways of aged marble gracing the walls, the crenellations along the roof marked with gargoyle-like creatures poised to pounce on the crowd gathered beneath, all awaiting entrance through the grand doorways. And looking over that doorway there is a single lit up sign, not as flashy as the others, that reads: "The Muse".

"Carnival you say?" Franky murmurs curiously, "What can you tell me about this carnival? Is there something in particular we should be on the lookout for?"

"They hide under the guise of a traveling carnival. That is how they explain their freakish appearances. A massive tent will go up somewhere in the city, then they will start drawing victims in. Some will be used for feeding, others will be captured for recruitment." I glance around the room. I don't like to be in such a formal setting for too long. It just doesn't feel right. "Normally I'd tell ya to be on the lookout for freaks and creatures with a powerful feeling of evil, but in this case.." I shrug to the woman. "they'll fit right in with the rest of you."

Electra scans the city as they pass. The gothic theme is beautiful, and she is in awe at the architecture. Much like Emily, it seems to be ugly yet beautiful at the same time. “You do not like this city very much,” she notes, walking past the various buildings. The scenery slowly changes to a dark metropolis, and Electra looks through the buildings with open curiosity. She lets her breath come and go easily. The sound is almost metalic. As they approach the inevitable building of The Muse, Electra interests herself by analysing the data of the buildings around her. Soon enough the simple sign comes into view. Her eyes play over the words as she reads the two that were set in it. “We should go in,” says Electra, hesitating before walking over the threshold.

The Muse was grand. Everything seemed like Electra belonged there, being new and techno-like with pulsating lights and even more technological advances. Electra’s eyes grow wider and she hypnotically steps further into the building, examining the things around her. Her mind wanders briefly to Emily, and she stops; waiting for Emily to come along.

The little blue light shudders as you look back down at it. As quickly as it became blue, now it switches to a bright, cheerful yellow and begins darting around the rock in front of you. "See, now she can tell that you are happy again." I tell the girl, the small smile remaining on my face. "Yellow means that she is curious now. Maybe she wants to know more about you too."

She stares still, her wide eyes glittering with the light. "What would she like to know?" Angelique questions eagerly, looking rapidly from the man to the 'fairy'.

((Would you like me to bold Angelique's speech as well?
Uber short post...sorry...<.<))

Emily Kane-Living Doll

Emily was just as intriuged as Electra. She followed Electra inside and instantly loved the atmosphere. I wonder what Kei would think, She thought, thinking of Kei back at her trailer. The people all looked that belonged in the circus, but she thought maybe they should not mention this place. Usually she did care that they kidnapped people all of the time. THough, after all her talks with Kei, she had relized it was wrong, and she was helping them do wrong. She was helping this very moment. Emily looked over at Electra, Would she tell even if I told her not to? She asked herself, thinking it better not to even try, not now anyways. Emily walked further inside The Muse, and was eventually separated from Electra. She hadn't done it on purpose, but she was intoxicated by the place. The music made her want to do something she had never done before, Dance.

Franky can't help but smirk at that last remark. "I assure you," she tells him, her thick Sussex accent interlaced with confidence, "I will be able to tell the difference between these 'circus folk' and my own." Sliding from the top of the desk, she passes her wine glass to Kendal as the feline slides up beside her. "Would you be so kind as to leave us a way to contact you? If this carnival is in town, we will undoubtably be meeting again."

Emily walked further inside The Muse, and was eventually separated from Electra. She hadn't done it on purpose, but she was intoxicated by the place. The music made her want to do something she had never done before, Dance.

Indeed, the pulsing beat matched in rhythm with the laser lights gave the feeling that the dance floor was a living entity unto itself. One wall of the dance floor is made up entirely of mirrored glass, reflecting the dancers and strobing lights. As the mirrors reach the DJ corner, they become screens of light and sound. On raised platforms surrounding the DJ's station, dancers consisting of beautiful, exotic species shake and twist with the beat, their figures silhouetted against the liquid illunimation behind them. Electra might notice the strange and hypnotic taint of the music, producing sounds that only someone with cybernetic implants could create. It is complicated and layered, with subtle nuances that only those with enhanced hearing could pick up.

Emily finds herself staring into the throbbing crowd of dancers. She can not pick out any single person, no matter how exotic they may be, as every one seems to melt seamlessly into one glorious whole, their bodies writhing and swaying in unison. It gives the feeling of total immersion, as if time and even existence would simply stop as you were drawn into the same entranced state.

"Well there is one thing that all fairies want to ask we bigger people, but that are too afraid to. Fairies exist all around us, but most people can not see them because they do not believe in them. It is only when someone truly believes in fairies with all of their soul that they can see a fairy cross over into this world." From the corner of my eye I watch her reactions closely as I crouch down beside her to watch the fairy light dance. "So the question becomes.. do you believe in fairies, little Angie?"

I nod, grateful that this meeting was obviously coming to a close. I glance around me and spot a small notepad on one of the end tables near the couches. Moving over there, I scribble down my cell phone number and name. "If it has to do with the carnival you can call me at any time. I'm going to be looking for a place to stay next. When I find one, I'll let you know." I tell her as I pass her the note.
