Serenity looked up from her sketch and eyed the bushes suspiciously. She knew she had heard something, and she was sure she was seeing something ... or was she?

Elnara plucked a blood red rose and tucked it into her hair, turning to smile at Lore.

"Well, once we're married the entire family will be moving to the clan manor," she grinned, "and even though I haven't seen it myself I've heard that it's enormous ... we can plant a good one together once we're back from our honeymoon."

The best part was, the moving would be going on while they were gone - they wouldn't have to help with it.

Luthien laughed softly. "Then perhaps it's a good thing you didn't come during summer," she smiled amusedly. "It gets quite a bit hotter then. As I recall, your nephew, Storm, fainted in the heat once ... heatstroke, I believe it was ..."

Her sharp elven ears picked up the sound of something in the bushes, and she looked curiously to see what it was.

Sir Valdemar nodded. "I see," he murmured. "So he hasn't changed at all."

He was distracted momentarily by the arrival of more guests at the doorway, and he rose from his seat, beaming at them.

"Yukito! Yue!" he exclaimed cheerfully. "It's wonderful to see you again! It's been so long! How have you been?"

He smiled warmly down at Miyu. "And who might this be?"

In a flash a rainbow blur came out of the greenery and dashed right into the middle of the tiny stream. Creating a small splash, before moving again landing right in front of the women. The blur, turned out to be Iris in all her rainbow hair glory complete with green ears, purple tail and red eyes. Her gray dress which as predicted was ripped in her prancing around only emphasized her colourful nature.

"Mew?" she grinned cattily up at them from where she sat.

Trisha couldn't help but sigh look at her niece, no doubt Triton was probably trying to go after his daughter. Which brought the question to mind, where was her brother? Probably trying to figure out where Iris went to.

Yukito grinned, they had been making rounds since they were one of the firsts to come here long ago, "We've been doing fine, keeping busy with our work.. and family."

He had to chuckle at that because family kept them very busy indeed.

The other twin, Yue placed a gentle hand on the little girl's head, "This is my daughter, Miyu."

He looked down at the little girl, seeing if she would hide, flee or maybe say hello.

"Mi....."

Close enough.

Lore wondered if they would be moving into the manor or if there were going to be other buildings on the property. He had heard a bit about clan grounds and knew many families lived there at once.

He smiled a bit, "We'll be missing the chaos of moving."

Elnara giggled at Lore's reaction. "No disappointment on that score," she grinned.

She turned back to the roses, looking at them thoughtfully. "What if we were to take a cutting from these plants," she murmured, "and transplant them to a garden back home? I wonder if they would continue to grow naturally there ..."

Sure there was a climate difference but Gaia had the means to fix a problem like that.

Luthien blinked and stared, then burst out laughing. "Well well!" she exclaimed. "What a surprise we have here!"

She giggled at Trisha. "And who might this be?" she asked in amusement. "She reminds me of Kaito, the first time he visted." Though he was quite different now.

Sir Valdemar smiled warmly at the three. "Hello, Miyu," he said softly. "If I'm not mistaken, you are the good friend of my own good friend, Aragost ... but you call him by a different name, do you not?"

He wasn't only trying to figure things out, but also draw the girl out of her shell, make her feel more comfortable by asking her to talk to things she was comfortable with.

Indeed... unlike Kaito though Iris hadn't grown at all. Though she had gotten a bit better, sort of. She padded over to Lothiriel and pawed at her. She wanted to sit up on a lap, even though from the looks of it the hem of her dress was getting muddy.

"This would be Iris," Trisha replied with an amused sigh, "She followed Triton home one day, she didn't have any family so he just adopted her."

Iris was also a name Triton chose, being the name of a rainbow goddess, which suited the colourful neko just fine. She knew enough to answer it and probably understood language very well. Trisha couldn't help but wonder if maybe Iris chose to act like cat most of the time.

Miyu smiled shyly up at Sir Valdemar, she recognized the name even if she didn't use it. The little girl nodded a bit, he seemed quite nice. Though he was tall (it was beyond anyone's understanding why she was frightened of very tall people, but it happened).

"Yami-san... doesn't mind being called Yami-san..."

Lore considered it, he had actually thought about it himself. It would be wonderful if they could get these type of roses to grow. Though he wondered if it might take cross breeding to make them more hardy.

"During the summer yes... but I think by fall we might have to dig them up and take them inside. I don't know if they would last a winter."

He doubted it.

Elnara smiled. "Well, even these ones don't bloom all year round," she murmured. "Come later summer, the blooms will die ... and there will be different flowers to take their place during the fall and winter ... "

She brushed her fingers along the petals of a blue rose and smiled at him. "Still, they're so peaceful ... so beautiful ... it would be lovely to have our own rose garden."

Luthien laughed sheepishly. "I see," she smiled. She felt a little wakward, though ... because she had never had anyone pawing at her before. She couldn't pick the girl up, her arms were already full ... but she didn't know what to do to discourage the girl from trying.

She looked at Trisha helplessly.

Sir Valdemar smiled warmly at Miyu. "He's very kind, isn't he?" he said softly. "He is a good man. I am glad that he is your friend. He is a good friend to have."

Trisha wished she had a ball, but she didn't. She wasn't quite sure what to do with Iris herself. Often when she was looking after Iris, that was all she did. Look after Iris and what other children there was. The young angel was ready to put her things down to grab the little neko when Triton came through.

He sighed watching his daughter try to gain attention, fortunately he had come prepared. The man took out a small purple ball and shook it, the soft jingling of bells could be heard.

Iris' ears twitched as she turned to see what the sound was. Delighted she ambled over to try and knock the play thing out of her father's hand.

"Sorry about that, hope she wasn't bothering you too much."

The little girl nodded in absolute agreement with that, it was one of the reasons why she liked to spend time with Yami-san. Her eyes sparkled at the thought, she didn't know Yami-san had a friend all the way out here.

"He tells good stories."

He was actually wondering more if the cold would kill the plant all together, unless it was never meant to bloom again next spring. Lore nodded at this though thoughtfully. To be honest, the librarian would like to have these type of flowers back home.

"Any sort of roses besides these ones you have in mind?"

He was already thinking about it... he was already imagining it going throug the list upon list of roses he knew of. Lore... was a geek in that way, a garden geek.

At least that's what his assistants would say.

Elnara looked thoughtful as she looked at all of the different roses that were around her, and then an impish grin spread over her face and she turned and looked up into Lore's eyes.

"All of them?" she suggested innocently, laughing. "Maybe we could have a greenhouse like at the school. Not a huge one like that, but one where we could keep the roses during the winter, they just might bloom all year round then."

Luthien smiled at Triton, relieved that he had shown up. "Not at all," she said softly, "though I have to admit I was a little ... lost with what to do with her." She laughed a bit. "I've never had anyone but Daeron or Earendil do anything like that ... even Tinuviel didn't when she was younger."

She smiled warmly at the neko. "But how are you doing, Triton? I see you've been keeping yourself well."

Sir Valdemar chuckled softly. "Indeed?" he murmured. "And what kind of stories does he like to tell you? Or perhaps the better question is, what kind of stories do you like to hear from him?"

He knew that Aragost would never run out of stories to tell - it was just something that happened when you lived as long as he had.

He chuckled, he would imagine Luthien wouldn't have seeing as Iris was still a feral like neko. Well.. playful, at least she didn't try and pounce on anyone. That was one of the few quirks he had been trying to teach his daughter that was not alright. Triton sat cross legged on the ground letting Iris bat around the ball. He was sure she only did that to hear the sound it made.

"I've been doing fine, just been busy, but that is normal," he replied chuckled.

As if to make a point about that Iris lost interest in the ball and gained an interest in her father's tail. She tried poking it for a bit, and when he moved it she tried to bat it.

She didn't even have to think about it, "Stars, stories about the stars are the best ones."

Her eyes lit up at the thought, indeed Miyu loved stars more than anything else. If Miyu could have it, she would have had stars painted on her room ceiling, except they would be moving soon so she couldn't do that.
