"What taint do you speak of?" Vincent says darkly. Though it is obviously not directed at Draemus. "I don't mean to be disrespectful, but when we reach this dragon, what exactly are we supposed to do with it? Ask it kindly for whatever you need? Dragons are not easy prey...heck, the smart wouldn't even hunt one to begin with! And how will helping you help remove whatever taint it is that you refer to."

"He is no drake, paladin. Sendur-Tyras is a draconian; a mer created from a dragon's egg. If you tell him I've sent you... He'll send you off into a forgotton temple. There, you will find a reliquary sitting ontop of about a thousand pounds of golden nuggets. All I need is the reliquary; you can keep any and all else you find... Gold is still the currency? Right?" He stood up and walked over to Vincent.
"Your taint isn't the kind I deal with. Best to leave that matter to yourself. Anyways, it'll either help you talk to the ones inhabitting the temple... Or they will devour you first.

"Hmm...all right. I'm game." Vincent says, as surprising to himself as anyone else, "I'll find this temple and get your reliquary for you. On one condition: I will perform the ceremony. I mean...who better to perform an exorcism than a paladin? Except maybe a priest." Vincent ends with a shrug.

Van still very much uncomfortable with the situation speaks up again. Gold matters very little to me, but I am concerned with the safety of the people of this world. If we were to perform this service for you, what assurances do we have that your intentions are benign? Would you leave this world without violence? Van tries to read Draemus for truth.

"Yes, well apparently being the demon of scheming doesn't give me a break. Neither does being one of three commanders of a race of demons." Draemus stood up and started to walk towards the scorpion before he suddenly turned around. "Here..." The demon's hand flicked up and he placed a large onyx gemstone next to Bellamin. "I think its charged with enough of my essence to make a sixteenth set of wards."
"Awwww..."
"Come on! I'm so close!"
"I get out first, then you can go on your dragon-lordish rampage."
Vikkayl snorted before readying himself for flight. Freiya picked up an arm of SK's which fallen off in the dragon-fire. Draemus mounted the scorpion. "Time is no matter. Take as long as you like; hopefully I'll outlive this world anyways."

As Drameus and the others head off, Vincent turns to Bellamin and examines him for any major, life-threatening wounds. Finding none he uses what limited healing magics he has to restore him to full health. Vincent stands and turns to Van, who, despite many wounds, seems far from being truly injured. "You did well..." Vincent says with an appraising look, "You deserve a reward. And I think I know just the one. Come, help me bring Bellamin back to the Dojo and I'll give you a gift there."
You head off, helping the still slightly injured and extremely groggy Bellamin over to the mouth of the majestic waterfall. Already the waters have gone back to their crystal clear tint; devoid entirely of the taint that inhabited them only a dozen or so minutes ago. You bring Bellamin inside, laying him down on a small mat to rest. Vincent walks up to you, placing his hand on your shoulder he smiles as his hand glows a soft white. Instantly you feel your wounds growing more shallow and your strength returning to you. "Again, you did well. Very well. Especially for one as young as yourself. You deserve a reward..." Vincent heads over to one of the walls, removing one of the swords there from its display. The five foot blade is thick and curved, giving it the look of a short falchion. The blade is carved with intricate, leafy designs that flow seamlessly into the hilt, which looks like two leaves that flower open at the top, creating the crosspiece. Vincent walks to you the sword in hand and a smile on his face...
But he doesn't hand the sword to you, instead he reaches behind his back and draws the mighty Crystal Edge. Holding the handle to you he replaces the Crystal Edge with the other sword and holds out his other hand. In it forms a strange sheath made entirely of solid shadow. He slides the crystal edge into the makeshift sheath and holds the sword out to you once more. "Take it. You deserve it."
Crystal Edge: (E5), As long as you have this item equipped you ignore an enemy’s defense stat when attacking with a normal attack (and with all your normal attacks)
Shadow Sheath: (E0), -2 attack, +2 Equip.

Van took in the weapon displayed before him. As proud as he was of his own self constructed lightsword, even it pailed in comparison to the crystal precision of the Zeno sword. Almost instinctively Van reached up, but stopped about halfway trough the motion. I...I am not sure I am really worthy of such a gift. His hands hovering around the blade achingly. After all the trouble and mess I caused here in your dojo. Are you certain you want to give me this?
(Not that I wouldn't want it , but seriously, are you sure you want to just give away your Zeno sword to me?)

Vincent smiles all the more at your comment, "Few could resist the urge to take such a gift. It makes me all the more sure that you deserve it." Vincent nudges the sword in your direction, "Take the sword, you earned it."
((Also, it doesn't look right for a minor DM to have so many of the RPS world's most powerful swords. I already have three; two rare (Demonic Sword and Crystal Edge) and one uncommon (the new item Emerald Fist). Figured one of them should go to a deserving player...after all, I don't want to give it to just anyone. Besides...I know where you live. So if you ever leave RPS and this sword goes to waste I'll just hunt you down... evil lol mrgreen ))

Van gently grasps the sword with both hands, and bows deeply in your presence. Then I accept, with great humility. I promise to wield this weapon with wisdom and justice.
(Well thank you then. Your kindness and threats to my person are both touching and terrifying. sweatdrop )

Now, you should go while I attend to Bellamin. With some mildly extremely painful herb treatments he should be good to go in no time. Go see the city. It's quiet beautiful when it's not being attacked. In fact...that could happen at any point. You may want to hurry."

Very well, I think I should like to venture into town to explore a bit. Van turns to the groggy form of Bellamin. Again, my apologies for damaging your bag, I wish you luck in containing your "pets."
Turning back to Vincent, he smiles. I wish to express my gratitude for your time today Master Valentine. Your training methods may be a bit... unorthodox, but they are very effective. I sincerely hope to see you around again. Shouldering his newly acquired sword, Van takes his leave of the dojo.

Lazarus materalizes outside along the bank of the lead off from the waterfall. Looking around, he focuses on Vincent's aura, finding him within the waterfall. With a nod to himself, he walks forward, stepping down on the water, the surface seaming to be solid beneath his feet. As he moves to the falls, the water seams to part before him. Inside, he discovers Vincent, the young man with a blade of light, and Bellamin, unconscious. He waves his hand at Bellamin, healing the spellsword. "Vincent, how are you today? I hope all has gone well lately?"

Vincent seems confused for about half a second as to why the spellsword was mysteriously healed before recognizing Lazarus' voice. "Ah, Lazarus! Good to see you. We ran into a bit of a conundrum earlier, but everything is okay now. So what brings you all the way out here?"
