((Quick post. Then bedtime for me... I have a LOT of s**t to do tomorrow... so.. SORRY J! You may post if you wish cos THAT'S PART OF THE ROOLZ, but I may or may not have time... I'll see how it goes D: ))

Icarus grinned as best he could regarding the news. "But he's alright?" He laughed. "That's what matters... he's a tough dog. Seriously. He could kick my a**." He shook his head at her superman of the geek world and ran a hand through his hair as best he could. "Yes. That's me: the geeky superman who likes to talk about books... right?" He looked thoughtful. "If I can get around we should go with you... you know... to see Stan?"

At Avalon's retort he may have smiled wider than previous, actually he WAS smiling wider than previous. He arched an eyebrow after her and then looked at Terry.

"I like her." Icarus decided as he smiled at his friend. "And shut what? It's not my fault you're a douche bag." He laughed. "Joking... I KNOW you have issues. I think a lot of girls find that..." He paused and wrinkled his nose teasingly. "Cute... if you call being a douche bag cute."

Icarus then twisted around in his bed and gripped at his foot. "Don't TOUCH IT! I may be on the drugs BUT I BET I COULD STILL FEEL IT!" He said and hugged it to his chest. "... This hurts."

The lanky blonde then watched Zoe's and Terry's exchange and he chuckled to himself. "You should know better." Icarus said and grinned as his friend seemed to need to sit. "Too much blood rushing to your head make you dizzy?" There was a smile in his words and one on his face to match and then he looked offended.

"How the hell am I supposed to PAY?" Icarus did in fact HAVE money, but probably not the funds to pay for a hospital bill. He said a very colorful word and then glared at Terry. "Some partner you are." And then slid his legs over the edge of the bed. "I want to stand up." He remarked off handedly. "I also want a cigarette... but mostly I want to stand up."

And so he did.

((hahaha, nooooeeeeee....))

((Haha I actually have stuff to do tomorrow too. I gotta clean the house...tackle my room. And then later go to my mom's opening reception and help her out with all that stuff...and my friend's coming over. SO I'll be busy as well. Nice planning.))

Zoe smiled at Terry and shook her head. "I understand, I guess. It's just that I never think of him as my dog anymore. He's almost a human to me, a human that's hairy, walks on all fours, and can't speak english." She laughed slightly and swirled the coffee in her cup. Upon gulping the rest down, she threw it in the trash, and took to chewing her straw again. When Icarus mentioned going with her she smiled sincerely and nodded happily.

"He'd love that. I'm sure the more love and attention he gets the sooner he'll feel better and up to running around town with me again." Her hopes seemed raised and she appeared more happy then a few hours ago. As Terry explained his injuries she looked him over and nodded. "At least you're okay. And drinks don't cure things, they just push them away until the hang over hits in. Seriously, you should stop thinking like that or one day you'll never wake up." After giving him a frown she sat in another chair next to his, a small table separating them.

Just as the two mentioned paying for bills she too realized that trying to scrounge up money for Stan's surgery would be troublesome as well. It may result in taking from the current fund she had going for her mom. A frustrated look crossed her face and she placed her chin in her hand, pursing her lips in thought. "I screwed up big time." She muttered to herself and tilted her head back, hands moving to her head.

Before she had chance to react Icarus was standing up. "Hey!" She yelped and jumped up, shoving him back to his bed. "Don't stand up! You expect your foot to heal with you waving it around all willy nilly? And smoking won't do anything but just add to your injuries with death by lung cancer." She let out a deep breath and rubbed a hand over her face, feeling dizzy at the sudden movement. "Ohh...Look what you did, Superman. Making me sick you are...like...a cat...cause they get sick a lot and throw up everywhere." She waved a hand around and looked back at Icarus, then Terry.

"Maybe we should strap him down? I've done it before. Back in the days when I'd play cops and robbers, I'd be the cop and I'd tape George to chairs and walls. Pretty good at it." She grinned and thumbed herself in the chest. "I should have been the robber. I was pretty good at stealing things from people. No one suspected. And...did I just see a ghost?" She pointed to the corner of the room, sure she had seen someone there.

It could have been a hallucination from the fact she hadn't slept for three weeks. Or the caffeine.

((Wow, caffeine is spelled strangely. And GOOD NIGHT SAN FRANSISCO!))

((Okay... post, then I'll finish working on my epic amounts of homework. *Cries a little inside*))

"Well, congrats, Icarus. Falling for a nurse... Somehow I'm not surprised," Terry offered with a bit of a crooked smile before dropping that look for a more irritated one. "I'm not going for 'cute.' I guess it just HAPPENS. I can't help it." He shrugged and leaned back in his chair, trying to let everything settle in his head. It had been a long night, he needed a drink, and probably a smoke. His feet hurt from all the running around, and he wasn't sure the last time he'd eaten either.

"I'm not dizzy," He added flatly, tapping his fingers idly against the arm of the chair. He stopped though, when Zoe told him that he should stop thinking that a drink or two here or there wasn't a problem. At that, he rolled his eyes and waved a hand, "No need to worry about me. It's a wonder YOU don't want a drink, after what happened. I'd call that a little stressful."

He wasn't able to say much more, because it was about that time Icarus announced he wanted to stand up, and then did. Great start on that whole staying off his feet thing. Couldn't even last until they left the hospital.

Zoe was faster to react to that than he was, and was immediately on her feet, trying to get Icarus to lay back down in his bed. He raised an eyebrow at her nonsensical statement, then had to laugh. Did she have ANY IDEA how hard it was to stop smoking? Terry'd been trying for years, and all he managed was to cut back. At least there was that. "Let's focus on one problem at a time here..."

Decidedly not commenting on the rather kinky sounding situations Zoe was describing (way to have your mind in the gutter, Terry), he peeked at the corner of the room, where Terry was quite sure there was no one. "Uhh. Ghost? Maybe..."

What WAS now in the room that hadn't been before was Avalon, and in tow, a doctor. Stepping up to Icarus (who thankfully, she hadn't seen on his feet), she waved a hand at the doctor, for the man to speak. Adjusting his glasses, he did just that. He explained what had happened in far more technical language than most understood, while Avalon translated.

That done, he handed Icarus a packet of papers explaining the same thing he just had, as well as proper use of the pain medication he was prescribing. Signature scrawled across the little papers, he handed them to Terry (who had gotten up when the doctor came in) and bid them good night.

"He seemed in a hurry to leave..." Terry muttered, eyeing the prescriptions in his hands. That was some powerful s**t they were giving him.

"Well, doctors have this unspoken rule of only spending fifteen to thirty seconds with their patients. The nurses get left with actually dealing with the patients. So, it's nothing against you guys." While she spoke, she was disconnecting Icarus' IV and carefully removing it from his arm. Giving his leg one more good look-at, she bid him in good enough shape to leave. With a grin, she stepped outside the room, returning a moment later with a wheelchair. In the seat was a pair of crutches. "The wheels'll get you outta here, but after that, you're on your own. Don't forget to make a couple appointments before you make it out the front doors, and don't get shot anymore. Got it?"

Terry nodded, eyes focused on the crutches, then Zoe, then the wall... The floor... You get the idea. "He'll stay off it," He added quietly, already at the back of the chair and trying to wave Icarus to sit in it. He beckoned for Zoe to leave with them, so they could possibly set up a time to visit Stan the next day. "Uh, and thanks."

"Not a problem, Cali. I'll expect you as Icarus' escort when he comes back. I don't trust him to do what he's told on his own." She then turned to him and pointed menacingly, "Those meds might be nice, but whether you're taking them or not, walking on that foot's going to hurt like hell. Don't. Do. It." Warning done, she flashed a smile before striding out of the room. "You three have a good night!"

((... BEFORE I GOES TO WORK POST... Yeeeah... why is the weather so disgusting today?))

Icarus was on his feet for a only mere seconds before he was knocked back down again. How was the experience? Icarus would go with the word fleeting. Had it hurt? He wasn't sure which was more painful, the fact he was trying to put a little weight on his foot in the most delicate way possible or Zoe shoving him into his bed again.

He would have to go with the plunge back into the stiff mattress.

"Gah." Is what he said and put a hand to his head and gave her a look. "Willy nilly? I don't do ANYTHING will nilly. Who the hell uses the word willy nilly?" He said in place of acting grouchy at the fact he was once again laying down.

Icarus hated to lay down too much unless he was sleeping. As he said before, he was going to die like this someday, and the last thing he wanted to do in his life was spend day after day like a dead man.

At the remark of being strapped down he frowned. "NO." Is what he said. "Just NO." He paused. "... Sick like a cat?" He repeated to himself and squinted. "I think this girl has lost her mind."

Of course, then the doctor and Avalon had returned to the room. The Doctor was talking, but Icarus was listening to Avalon. He only looked to the doctor when he was handed a packet of papers. He glanced over them idly and gave the nod the meant he more or less understood.

Icarus then shrugged his shoulders at the fact the doctor had spent maybe just shy of a minute speaking with him. "That's okay... he wasn't as fun to look at anyway. EEEhhh..." He remarked at the IV was taken from his arm. He glanced at it and wrinkled his nose. "Hate needles." He said and behaved while his foot was looked over.

When she returned with a wheel chair he looked particularly sour again as he eased himself into it. "I'm too young for this." He muttered to himself. "Damn you, Terry! I blame this on you! Because I NEEED someone to blame!" He gave a distasteful glance at his crutches and crossed his arms. "I'm not going to like this."

The lanky man grinned, however, as Avalon pointed at him in a threatening way. His smile angled up as it always tended to do. "I'll see what I can do." Was what he said after her.

"ALRIGHT!" He said when she had gone. He grabbed one of his crutches and pointed it forward as if to charge. "ONWARD, TERRY, ONWARD!"

((post taimu nao?))

"She probably left her mind on the sidewalk in front of your store. We should get it..." Terry said from his place in the chair, shooting Zoe a worried glance. She seemed almost too-happy for being in a hospital AND her dog being in for injuries too. He could sort of sense her uneasiness about the place.

But, it was time to leave. Thank goodness.

After Icarus was forced into sitting in the wheelchair and Avalon left, Terry got to his feet and positioned himself behind the wheelchair, knowing full well that Icarus wouldn't stand to wheel himself down the hallway.

And... yep. There it was. "Alright, Icky! Let's RIDE." He gave a snort and started wheeling him out of the room, taking care to bump into various things along the way. Just for good measure.

((Haha uhhh... I... Don't know what to do from here... *Squints* So... SOmeone else's turn to think of something? D: I STILL wanna put in my idea, but like... The setup's not quite there yet. DK))

((Haha I saw Iron Man today with mah buddy. It was good. I thought you'd like to know that. It's not like I was amazed by it like everyone else is. But I enjoyed it.

It makes me want a hot lady to do my work for ME. D:

...volunteers?))

Zoe stood back when the doctor and nurse came into the room, drawing into the wall so she wouldn't be noticed. If there was one thing she hated more than hospitals, it was doctors, most of them anyways. There were a few that were compassionate. Otherwise...eh.

She watched Avalon bring in the wheel chair and crutches and gave a little smirk. When everyone was finally out of the room she shook her head. "By the way, I lost my mind when I was born. I think the baby next to me took mine and ate it. You know kids, all cannibals these days." With a wave of her hand she followed Terry out of the room, laughing as he ran into things, on purpose. "Don't hit his foot..." she called out meekly and drifted after them.

As they made a commotion down the hospital corridors she caught a few looks from nurses who were either wondering why grown men were acting like children, or why Zoelie was in the hospital again. Perhaps another run in with a large cement wall or for falling asleep on the side walk. EIther way, she dodge them and stayed close to Terry's heels like a trained dog.

"Isn't it a little whiles a way back to the shop?" She wondered aloud, pursing her lips as they exited the sliding glass doors. When they were finally outside she breathed in deeply and shook out her arms. "The smell in there is like OLD people. It makes me afraid of growing up sometimes." She stuck out her pierced tongue and looked around the parking lot. "Anyways...my place is a bit closer if you guys don't feel like crossing town again."

Then she realized she just invited two smokers into her home where her piles and stacks of books were exposed to cigarette embers and a look of sheer horror crossed her face. "OR!" she yelped out, "or...we can get a bus...a bus yeah..."

((... OMG POST TIEMS! Hahahah, I'm in a crazy good mood. Seriously. > biggrin FEAR MY SUNSHINEY HAPPYYYYY.))

As Icarus led the charge into the hallway... and then that empty stretcher, and then that corner of the wall, and then that-"DAMNIT TERRY STOP IT!" And after hitting Terry on his head with one of his crutches continued that charge out into the open air.

Icarus turned in the wheelchair for those crutches instead and adjusted them for his own height. He frowned a little. They almost didn't do it for him, but he shrugged and fitted them beneath his armpits. He looked very unhappy about the whole ordeal.

"At least I'm not lying down." He said and paced back a few times to get the feel of these strange new walking instruments. "Old people? It smells like dying people." Icarus said instead. "All that medication... and there's just all this sadness there, you know? Too many tears, I feel like... and it's so white. Too sterile... Old people aren't the only ones that go there to die... Death doesn't KNOW age." He shuddered. "I hate it." And he stared off a little. "It's the only thing that isn't judgmental in this world."

Though, after that brief spell of somberness he was all smiles again. "Your place?" His smile was angled again. "Why. Don't mind if we do." And he started crutching his way along the sidewalk. "I knew she wanted me. I mean... who doesn't?" He asked no on particular.

"Come on, Terrence. You're the man with the prescriptions. I'm going to NEED you."

((TA DAH!))

((LIEK, I'M GOAN' POST NAO.))

"I won't hit his foot," Terry said in a rather amused fashion, as he very narrowly dodged a rather frantic looking nurse. Grinning at the irritated look on his face (haha, male nurse), Terry zoomed down the hallway, finally making it out into the open air of the hospital parking lot. He'd cut down on the running into things after Icarus had yelled at him... But only a little.

Once outside, everyone seemed to breathe their own sighs of relief - Zoe because she hated hospitals, Icarus because he wanted out of there for a smoke, and Terry because he realized he'd stupidly brought in drugs and weapons. Good JOB there, Tiger. Sport. Champ. Junior. Slugger. Cowboy. Bucko. Buddy. Pal. Sonny. Boy. Kiddo. Bro.

Ahem.

"Well, they smell ill, in any case..." Terry agreed, not too into the whole somber tone Icarus was taking. It was sorta creepy. He chalked it up to the pain killers. "OR!" Terry held up a finger, "We can take the bus to your place! Sounds good to me! We'll get special treatment for 'ol cripple here." He gave Icarus a sturdy pat on the back and followed after the man, prescriptions stuffed in his back pocket.

A quick stop at a 24 hour pharmacy and bus ride later, they were at Zoe's place, where Terry had almost immediately managed to knock over a pile of books. Offering a rather quiet 'oops,' he tried to stack them back up before giving up on the project and giving an apologetic smile.

That done, he bee-lined for a safe place to sit, putting his hands on his knees and tapping a beat lightly on his jeans. He really REALLY wanted a drink, and had a feeling that Zoe didn't have ANYTHING.

"Sooooo..."

When they had gotten to her apartment Zoe wasn't sure what she was supposed to do. Sure when she was a kid she'd have parties all the time at her place. Now though she was out of touch of having anyone over but Ann or George. Even more, Stan wasn't here. As she entered her apartment it seemed empty. Despite stacks and piles of books lining walls, covering chair seats, and surrounding tables, it was empty.

Her apartment was like a cluttered library. Whatever furniture was there was hidden by books. The only furniture that wasn't covered was the couch and a lazy boy chair. She looked around nervously, just as Terry knocked over some books. Zoe jumped and stumbled towards the stack, catching a few as they tumbled over. "Car...careful...please." She stammered, breathing out deeply as she stacked them back up neatly. "Some of these are antiques, one of a kind. Worth a lot you know." Giving a nervously laugh she motioned to the couch and lazy boy.

"Ummm I don't really have a bed but my own. If you want the bed, Icarus, you can use it. I usually sleep on the couch anyways." Sleep, read, they were both the same really. "And...I have some soda in the fridge...and some hot pockets. I haven't been shopping in a while...sorry." She patted her hat and looked to the right. "The bathroom is over there, the door across from the kitchen. Please make yourselves at home. Just...yeah...don't umm...just be careful with my books." With a look to Stan's water bowl she frowned.

"I'm sorry, I have no t.v. or computer. The phone is on the floor by the window." She waved a finger to the large window. Beneath it sat an antique style phone, with the circular pull to dial the numbers. "Just in case. You guys should get some sleep. Icarus, my room is down the hall, the end. It's messy...you may have to take a few books off my bed, but other then that it should be alright." Her eyes wandered around and glanced over to Terry then to Icarus.

"You guys need anything else? I'm going to take a shower real quick." She stumbled into the kitchen, looking into the living room from the breakfast counter. She reached up into a cabinet, medicine bottles filling it. Quickly she snatched a bottle and closed the cabinet, embarrassed already by her clutter, no need to embarrass herself more with the loads of medication. After swallowing a giant pill she picked of Stan's food bowl, caught herself, and put it back down.

"You're not here...that's right." She whispered. Any minute she expected him to come trotting into the kitchen for some food. "So yeah, if you're hungry there should be some food in the fridge or freezer. Ummmm...I have one bottle of wine..." She began, noticing the look in Terry's eyes. "It's half empty, but pretty good. Wine is better then beer, for your health. It's said red wine helps your immune system...something like that. Any thing you guys need?" She asked again, unsure if she already had asked. "Please, you guys should get some rest. It's been a long day, I'm sure, and you need some sleep."

Now she was just repeating herself. Best get in that shower before she continue her speech and start into where the rooms were again and how she had antique books. "Shower." She blurted out and finally headed down the hall towards the bathroom.

((AND BED FOR ME. Gosh...cartoon network is keeping me up lately. Darn you Adult Swim.

Hahaha Zoe can really talk a lot...about nothing.))
PostPosted: Sun Jun 01, 2008 1:12 pm

Icarus couldn't really say he was surprised at the state of Zoe's apartment. He looked around a little before making his way through the door and crutched in and around piles of books.

"This is DEFINITELY not handicap accessible. What a b***h, Zoe." Though, he seemed to make careful work of moving around, unlike Terry who was already knocking things over. He grinned at his friend and raised an eyebrow. He shook his head slowly. "Terry, Terry, Terrence... can't you see we're in and among great piles of knowledge? Can't you smell, feel, taste, and breathe these words? These millions of voices? Can you so easily cast away their feeble tones to the floor as if it were nothing more than a whisper when every time you open a page those somber letters of times new roman scream out to you to listen?"

Icarus then struggled to pick up a book and lightly he kissed its binding. "Books are as something to be handled with care." And he placed the book lightly back into its place and then tutted at Terry with a finger. "You should know better that words are so precious."

And then he laughed. "Do it again and instead of talking at you I'll kick your a**."

"Your bed?" Icarus looked thoughtful. "I guess." He said not really watching as she swallowed down some medicine. "HOT POCKETS." He shouted as he thumped his way into the kitchen. There was a beep and the sound of a microwave running and then the sound of Icarus opening up a can of soda.

"You want anything, Terry?" He called.

As Zoe made her way to the shower he saluted her off with his one free hand and carried the food and other such nonsense in his other... and in his pockets. "No worries. We won't peek. I think you've had enough of sexual harassment today." He made his way to Terry and passed him off a soda from his pocket. "Maybe you not drinking tonight will be good for you." He joked and then with a deep breath and a: "DAMN this is tiresome." He made his way to Zoe's room.

When he reached her bed he collapsed on it and carefully placed the crutches in a leaning position nearby. He breathed deeply, grateful for a comfortable place to lay down, but then frowned. He reached behind his head and pulled out a book. He laughed and placed it beside his pillow.

"s**t. What a place." he said... and started in on his hot pocket.

((Hahaha, yeah. So... Jews? Jews do that. When you drop a book. You kiss it. Especially if it's a cidor. Jews love their books. SERIOUSLY. I honestly love that concept. I always did that when I was little biggrin ... and I still do *giggles*

ANYWAY. The end.))

((Okay. Sorry if this is crap. I'm tired, hungry, even more tired, and in a fairly bad mood... BUT I DIDN'T MEAN TO RUIN YOUR POST J! SORRY. D: ))

Terry was quite keen on just sitting and carefully breathing by the time he DID make it somewhere safe. He'd gotten it from both ends about knocking over the books (how the hell couldn't he have?! they were EVERYWHERE!), and really felt bad about it. So, he gave Icarus a very spirited middle finger, "They may be precious, but I think they'll kill me if I get too close. One wrong move and we're buried alive."

Not to mention, Zoe seemed rather nervous anyway, and he pointedly looked away when she popped a few pills. It was none of his business. He made a mental map of the place as the woman described it, eyeing the room to scout a path to the bathroom, should he need it.

At the prospect of food, he DID perk up a bit, and even ventured to stand - but Icarus, even on crutches, was faster. So, instead he sat back down and gave Zoe a bit of a wave as she scurried off to the shower, then looked over at Icarus, who was currently stuffing even his POCKETS with food. Wait. Had she said there was wine? Better than nothing. In all honesty, he'd have opted for something a bit more stiff than wine or beer (maybe a good 'ol fashioned shot of rum or vodka), but really, he wasn't going to complain.

He had to frown at Icarus' offered soda, but took it anyway, snitching one of the hot pockets Icarus had cooked too. "I dunno about that one, Icky." Terry said with a half laugh, taking a big 'ol bite of the microwaveable goody. He watched the man struggle to get to Zoe's room before hefting himself to his feet (which had stated to ache... Damn walking) and carefully picking his way to the kitchen.

Not too long after, he had a glass of wine in hand, another hot pocket half eaten (the soda had been left hardly touched on the counter) and was scouting his way into Zoe's room. Wordlessly, he tossed a bottle of pills at Icarus before taking a drink of his drink. "You should probably take one or two of those. Or miss Avalon might get upset." He gave a crooked, almost teasing smile before sitting on the end of the bed, wondering vaguely if Zoe would have to come into the room to get clothes. That would be really really awkward.

He then gave a tired sort of sigh and ran a hand through his hair, taking a deep breath and letting it out his nose. "Long night," he said at last, glancing over at his friend. "Not to mention this," he tossed another set of drugs at Icarus - it was what he'd taken off his friend earlier that day. "Is also yours." Terry slowly rotated his glass in his hands, eyeing the dark drink and how the reflections of light in it were actually rather pretty. "You gonna make it?"
PostPosted: Mon Jun 02, 2008 8:54 pm

((NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR EXCUSES AND I TAKE NO APOLOGIES. YOU SHOVE THEM UP YOUR...NOSE!!

D:< BIG BUTT HEAD.))

Zoe had closed the door quickly. The prospect of a shower was a welcome thought. This whole night had made her feel dirty and dingy, in more ways than one. Honestly she wasn't sure how she was supposed to react to any of it. Was she supposed to cry? Hit something? Cut herself? Okay cutting herself would be going a bit over board. But she wasn't totally with it anyways. A few weeks of not sleeping did that to a person. None the less she felt tears leak from her eyes and she hurriedly stripped off her clothes and hat, glancing at the blond hair that fell in her face. How was she supposed to get by the rest of the night and morning with hiding her hair?

Turning the water on she stepped in and let the hot water stream over her body. She rubbed at the tears on her cheeks that felt cold against the hot water. What would have happened if those two hadn't come? Would she even be alive right now? And Stan...he'd definitely have not made it. Her shoulders trembled as she scrubbed soap over her skin until it turned red. She moved to her hair, hoping the dye washed out with shampoo, but it wouldn't. Even if it did it'd be the same color, blonde was natural for her.

After a good twenty minutes of washing she turned the water off and took a deep breath. She looked in the mirror as she dried herself off. Her eyes were red from crying, and her cheeks were flushed. In all she looked like a totally different person. Amazing how much color changed someone. She splashed cold water on her face, hoping it helped. Then she realized she had no clean clothes to put on. Well wasn't this just great? A frustrated sigh escaped her and she pulled on her bra and underwear. It was like wearing a swim suit really. She didn't mind walking around like that. She was a girl who wasn't self conscious of her body.

She opened the door. As an afterthought she grabbed a towel. She figured Terry would break out in hives if a half naked woman was walking around the room with him in it. Then she hurried down the hallway, jumping and dodging stacks of books. She didn't remember to cover her hair.

She scurried into the room, looked around and saw some clothes hanging over the closet door. There was no room for clothes in her closet for books filled it. Because of the books her clothes were folded about in various places. As she found a large shirt she stole from George a long time ago, as well as some boxers she took a breath and started to put them on under the towel. "You guys okay? Why aren't you sleeping? You need to sleep and rest up. Stan won't want zombies visiting him, goodness." She finished putting on her boxers and let the towel drop to pull on her shirt. Finally done dressing she headed out of the room.

"I'm getting something to eat. Hopefully you didn't take everything I had."

((... UMM. I post to this... then shower D: ))

Icarus had been lying on his back musing about how tired he felt. He also knew he sort of half wanted a cigarette, but couldn't find it in his mostly uncaring nature to do it around so many books. He figured maybe he'd do it later by an open window and was thinking instead he'd catch a few moments of peace, but Terry came in. Of course, he'd never mind Terry's company.

The lanky blonde sat up on his elbows with a grin and quirked a brow. "I couldn't have that now could I? Though I'm sure she's just as hot angry..." He said and took the bottle of pills into his hands. Tumbling a few into his palm he swallowed them dry and flopped back onto the bed. "Ahh... drugs are amazing... speak of the devil." He laughed as another bag of drugs of the illegal sort were tossed beside him.

Icarus laughed a little and slid them into his pocket. "Only from time to time." In case Terry had wondered. "Not nearly as often as I used to." He said examining a hand held up in the air before him. His hand then flopped onto his forehead.

"Long day INDEED." He agreed. "But you did good, yeah? Besides letting that b*****d get me in the foot." Icarus chuckled and then glanced at his friend sideways. "Will I make it?" He was full out laughing now. "Don't I always? Remember when I jumped off the roof just cause you dared me...? And you thought I'd died because I was unconscious for five minutes?" Icarus shook his head. "I'm like... Pit from Super Smash Brothers... seriously. You just can't KILL that little p***k... 'cause he's got wings... you know? Like me? Wax wings." He laughed.

"... That's the drugs talking." He said, suddenly thoughtful.

And then there was a toweled Zoe in the room. He raised his head to look at her. Icarus angled his smile and raised an eyebrow so high it vanished beneath a curtain of tattered hair. "That's the hottest way I've ever seen a woman get dressed." And then he waved a hand. "We'll sleep, we'll sleep!" And he flopped his had back down and then up again to regard that familiar blonde hair he had gotten a glimpse of before.

"... Oh." And a face and a name clicked somewhere in his brain. "... OH. It's weird how I had to be on DRUGS to come to this kind of realization..." And Icarus looked tired. "Or maybe it's just my mind messing with me... but damned if I didn't know her from before..." Icarus was talking to no one at all... like a mad man talking to his own shadow.

"Hey ZOE. Did we ever make out before?" He wanted to know.

((... hahahaha, i dunno... he's all doped up on pain stuff... XD... SHOWER.))

"Hey, I don't care what you do, man." Terry said of the drugs Icarus quickly pocketed. "It's only illegal if you get caught, right?" He shrugged and sat his now empty glass on a nearby pile of books, sure to wipe the condensation off on his pants beforehand.

Nodding to Icarus' agreement of the day being a bit too long, he leaned back in his chair ((haha if he wasn't sitting in one, HE IS NOW.)) and rested his head on the back of it, staring idly at the ceiling. Somewhere not too far off, the sounds of the shower had stopped. He hardly noticed. The man was tired. Tuckered out.

Though, that didn't stop him from giving a rough laugh at Icarus' drug-induced giggles. "I DO remember that, and I'd have done it too if we hadn't been yelled at by that creepy guy who always sat on his lawn. And you looked DEAD. I swear to you I thought you'd like, spilled your brains or something."

He then added, "I HATE Pitt."

And then Zoe was in the room changing, Terry was staring very very pointedly at the ceiling, until he was quite sure she was dressed. Then he couldn't stop staring as she left the room, announcing that she was going to get something to eat.

"Dude. Duuuuuuude." Terry said, tapping his hand rapidly on the arm of the chair, "DUDE." Apparently he was having trouble forming proper words. "I KNEW she looked familiar." he curled his fingers around his hair and tugged, sighing as he dropped his hands to the side, hair now more a mess than it usually was. "I think you DID make out with her once... At that party... When... Oh man, I've never seen a guy throw up that far... Holy s**t, man..." He then cleared his throat, paused for a moment, and laughed. "Wow, small world."

He then added, so Zoe could hear him, "I think you DID make out with him once!"

Heh, that had been a strange party. It was one of the very, VERY few times Terry had managed to come back and visit - only a couple years after he'd left, and that had been QUITE a party.

((Haha we're... a few years off in their history now, BUT THAT'S OKAY. It'd just be weird for like, 12 ear old kids making out O.< ))

((Hahaha...12 year old kids make out. SEXY 12 year old kids.))

Zoe flinched as she walked out of the room, Icarus announcing he had made out with her once. She narrowed her eyes slightly. For a minute she wanted to go in and tell him that of course they did. A couple of times. There was that time on the roof of the school during Algebra and then during P.E. God. That was when she was screwed up. School had been getting so ridiculous to her that she had dropped down to hanging out with a stoner during school. She also wanted to say that they had pretty much hated her guts (who hadn't?) when they were younger and that George would rag on them all the time. But she didn't...it'd make things totally insane.

She tried to figure out something to say. "I...I...no. NOPE." What? What kind of response was that? She felt her muscles tighten and she groaned loudly. Suddenly she wasn't too hungry. So she snatched a small packet of chips and sat down on the couch, drawing her knees to her chest. "Ummmm...Terry? Can you get the book on my night stand? It's the huge red one. I kinda want to read it. And you need to leave Icarus alone, he needs his sleep."

She sighed out heavily and put her reading glasses on. It made her face strangely more gorgeous, a sophisticated look only glasses could give a person. They also made her look cold and dangerous. Blue-green eyes gazed out the window as she pushed the chips aside with distaste and wrapped her arms around her legs. Pursing her lips she cracked her jaw and neck before resting her cheek against her knees. "What am I doing?" She said to herself and studied the window, noticing the moon covering up with a dark gray cloud. It'd rain soon. Rain was something that made her relaxed. Hopefully...she prayed to God...it'd make her sleep as well.

And then she noticed a drop hit the window and a smile spread on her face.

((Hahaha sooo...what'd you call it? I dunno. But that's what it is.))
