And it was hours later when they were back in a vehicle, currently Noah's truck with the headlights off, heading for the beach.
"Hope we don't get caught. They said they were gonna be crackin' down o this s**t."

"'S why I brought my gea', suga'," Noah said, lapsing back into the accent and thrusting a thumb back toward the small SCUBA diving tank and regulator. Hey, Veli had said he might want t go deep. A man needed to breathe, after all!
Noah parked and led Veli through their usual 'door' in the gate. The sand was still vaguely warm, but Noah couldn't help but fear how cold the water may be.

Noah stripped off his Shirt, grabbed his tank, popped in his regulator, and made a break for the ocean.
