The sax section is insane.

The first chair alto last year kept his music inside the bell of his sax. One time, he forgot it was there, and in an attempt to annoy one of the clarinet girls, he blew into it really hard, and all of his music went flying everywhere.

The tenor sax is also very strange. He once threw a pencil up into the air and it got stuck in the ceiling... for three days. He also likes to stack the chairs up to the ceiling. He succeeds for the most part... until they all fall down onto the trumpet section.

The cork in my flute likes to pop/fall out. Once, I forgot to hold it in place when I was tuning my flute, and the entire top part of my flute fell out and I'm sitting there, confused pushing the tuning rod in and out of the flute head... while my best friendin the clarinet section laughs at me and says how wrong that looks.

One of the trumpets last year was playing with a tuba. He put it over an unsuspecting percussionist's head and blew into it. She screamed and couldn't hear anything for half an hour.

The cymbolist crashed the cymbols together, but not in the strike-slide motion how you're supposed to. They got stuck together... with one symbol bent like an umbrella that's gone against it's curve. It took the BD, his son and a fence post to get them back to normal.

We're not allowed to do silly things with our instruments. But this one time, we had fun putting on our marching equipment backwards. It looked funny, but other than that we have never done anything worth mentioning...

For the low brass picture, my tuba friend put his bell over my head like a hat. eek

Also, sometimes he puts the bell on my back and blows on it...It feels nice. heart

Oh I know, I replaced the strings on my violin with tinypieces of a nylon jump rope. Too bad I forgot to put the real strings back before the concert.... lol rolleyes

Well...one time in band class, there was like dog crap on the floor. x_x and for a joke, one of the sax players took a trombone's mouth piece and rubbed it againts the poo. Well, the tombonist played his instrument for a while, then noticed the smell. He threw his mouth piece away, but the BD made him get it out of the trash and made him play. x_x

i once lefta soda in by sax ell. and forgot about it. and got confused when it wouldn't play sweatdrop and in the tenor section, half the people tape things to their marrching lyres, lik monkeys and pompoms wink

^^;;; Wow, people do some random stuff with their instruments...Ho hum..~Thinks~ I have an interesting band director, and most of the jokes/silly things come from him...^^;;; He throws things at people, but only when he knows they'll dodge or he'll miss...>> He also has/picked up many interesting sayings, like "Opinions are like belly buttons; everyone has one."
I play trombone, so I guess I've gotten my share of boner jokes, or jokes related to the fact that I have to pull and push my slide in and out to play..>< I remember, last year, one of the players had an old, beat up trombone, and he not only hammered out all the dents in it, with a hammer, but he could rig it somehow to shoot the slide across the room..oo It was pretty odd..>> You'd be walking down the hall, and a slide would go whizzing past your face...^^;;; That was one beat up trombone, though..oo He lost part of the tuning slide, so he taped the remainder of the slide to his trombone with clear tape..^^;; I offered to buy the trombone off of him, but he refused, and ended up running over it with his car..;_;
