Amira laughed at Grace's response, then looked around the room as she commented on the color. "I'm sure the color of my dress doesn't help my either. At least I blend right in," she said with a small laugh, before making her way to the door, but not exiting. "Oh, gosh. I hope they serve dessert. Cookies, pies, cakes, ice-cream..." Her voice was dreamy as she thought of all of the treats that they might serve after dinner. Suddenly, Amira couldn't wait for dinnertime. She wasn't usually a heavy eater, but sweets were her one weakness. Besides, with the stairs in this place, she was certain to get a lot of exercise.

"I'm not too sure about that," Lawley said, looking down at the princess and the spider in her arms. "If it does have any magical powers, it will be kept in the Magical Creatures classroom. Lady Maybelline is a very nice woman, and will take good care of it. However, if it is merely a spider, we will have to release it outside or... deal with it on other means," he told the young girl. "We will also need proof of your spider being... more than a spider. Assuming that it is more than a spider." The speech wore Lawley out already. He wasn't used to being so teacher-like after the break he had gotten over the summer.

Aaric shrugged. "Me neither," he concurred before following his brother up the stairs. He looked around the hallway at the three entrances to the boy's rooms. "I guess we could drop off your stuff and then go talk in my room?" he suggested. "At least until Cori's room is empty of teachers. We can discuss our plans for tonight, if you two want to."

"Uh..." Aurora began laughing, "Did I say something like that? I sure remember I didn't..." She muttered something under her breath as she scolded herself in her head. She tried to get off the topic as she nodded at his after response. "I see...um...who's my roomate?" she asked, "I haven't seen her all day...." Aurora hoped it was the same girl who had scream from before.

Lady Maybelline's eyebrows raised as she heard Taite's scream. The Lady had decided she would offer to keep the spider in her room, for putting it outside would simply not do. As she turned the corner, her lips curle dinto a small smile at the sight of Lord Taite standing behind Lord Lawley. She decided, as Lawley finished speaking, that she would offer. "Aurora, is it? I don't think it would be fair to keep the spider with you because of the concerns of your roommate, but putting the arachnid outside is out of the question. I will happily keep him in my room, and you will be allowed full access. But the Lords and I are concerned for the safety of the other students, so I think it would be best. Does this sound okay to you?" Lady Maybelline stepped beside the two Lords, Arabella resting on her shoulder. Her emerald eyes were questioning, but they made it obvious she would keep to whatever she had just said.

Coralie nodded at the twins, conveniently turning her attention away from the conversation at her room just as they began to talk about roommates. "Okay, let's go."

She was beginning to feel a little out of breath as she climbed the fifth flight of stairs, and felt her chest tightening. It wasn't too bad, though, and didn't bother her much - she had felt far worse. Coralie looked around the boys' floor as she arrived behind the twins.

"Rylan, which one is your room?" she asked. She came up beside him and took her bag of clothes with a smile. "I can carry these, don't worry about it." It felt a little better when she did as much for herself as she could. Besides, it would be tiresome to carry so many bags up the stairs, and unfair, seeing as to how she carried nothing.

Her gaze fell on Aaric and she gave an apologetic look. "Sorry I'm still making you carry my things, Aaric. I wouldn't have brought the books if I had known they were going to be trouble."

((Daaaamn!!! Talk about a cold reaction, lol. And no worries, Princess Mandy, I was just playing around. I don't care really.))

Cassi jerked to attention at the sound of a male voice and looked up to see who it was, glad to see that it was Damien. That smal enjoyment dissappeared at the way he seemed to show no emotion and Cassi stared at him silently for a few moment, before nodding. Sticking the two figners in her mouth for a moment, she licked the blood away and looked down at the flower that had pricked her. She was determined to get him to open up to her, no matter that he probably didn't want to. The thought that he maybe didn't want to be around anyone after all though pervaded her thougths. Biting her lip in hesitation, she continued to stare at the flower that he had called a rose, before deciding to leave. "I'll see you in class, okay?" she said.

Without waiting for a response, Cassi turned and walked away, though she really did want to talk to him. She knew however that they were bound to have at least one class together and that even if they didn't, she would get to say "hi" in passing. Picking up her skirts to move a little faster, she re-entered the castle, singing softly to herself as she made her way up to her room, passing two princes and a princess on the way. Glancing at them, she saw that they were twins and that the other princess seemed interesting. She reminded herself to speak with the other girl later.

As she stepped onto the fourth floor landing, Cassi spotted three of the teachers standing outside what she assumed was the rose room by the colors she could see. At the sight of the spider in the princesses arms, she knew exactly what this was about. Cassi was curious, but she knew better than to stand and stare when matters didn't concern her, so she made her way slowly behind them to her room, hoping that she wouldn't notice or interrupt.

Bella blinked a bit as she felt that her crown made flower was on top of her head. She listened to what he had said as she was very embarrassed at what had happened. Soon, she was surprised at the question and tone of his voice.

"Stalking? Why would I do that?" She said in confusion a bit as she raised her head, her innocent amethyst eyes shimmering with emotion. "I just wanted to meet you, is all...but then I saw doves, so I climb to see them and then I fell" She explained in a soft voice. 'Did I do something wrong?' She thought to herself.

"Oh...my name is Bella" She said with a gentle smile. "I'm sorry for the late introductions...I guess that is a bad first impression...I get distracted most of the time..." She said a bit nervously. "You're not very social, are you?" She asked as well, seemingly just wanting to know, since the vibe around him shouted out as a loner typer of guy.

[[Isn't he such a jerk? XD]]

Damien watched with a raised eyebrow as the girl walked off. Huh. He snorted and turned back, shrugging it off. He'd rather be alone at the moment, anyway.

On his way back to the apple tree, he changed his mind. The outdoors was getting boring, too. Maybe he'd head up to his room - actually, his roommate was probably there. Maybe not. He stood, indecisive, in between the flowerbeds and the tree before an idea came to him. The stables. Why not?

He turned on his heel and walked lazily down to the stables. The smell of horses floated to his nose and he wrinkled it in distaste, though he didn't mind it all that much. He approached the stables with a rare smile which, to anyone who knew him, would have looked out of character and out of place.

His steel-grey eyes were immediately drawn to a black mare, who stared at him with large, soulful eyes. The corner of his mouth twitched upwards as he approached her in his slow, fluid movement. He stopped before her and smirked, hands in his pockets as she watched him warily.

Life attracts life, this, Machi had always been taught, so when he found a stable full of horses, he was most pleased. These majestic beasts, though not native to his island had been brought there by visitors and early traders. Some managed to get away and now roam free. The island was large enough to accommodate them, but asides from working means, there was no reason to own one. Machi himself did not own one, but he and a few of his father’s ward would go and seek the heards out, each trying to catch a wild ride.

The last time Machi had ridden was awhile ago and he had managed to steer the horse away from the heard, to race along the shores. Machi remembered the sound of the horses’ powerful hooves beating upon the ground like a tribal drum, and he’d urged it to run faster, trying to wake the island spirits that dwelled in the land.

He had gone up and looked to each horse, marveling their beauty and so close! He’d never been this close to any horse before. As the boy neared each one, each horse grew quiet as if examining the boy in turn. Finally Machi spoke a greeting to the beasts and introduced himself, setting a hand down upon their long snouts, or upon their broad necks. But why were they all here? They weren’t working as he could clearly see….They should be out running around! Machi asked as to why they were all here, but hadn’t gotten very far when most of the horses looked away, their attention drawn to another living soul approaching the structure. In a slight panic, (Machi wasn’t even sure if he was suppose to be here!) the boy looked about for a place to hide before he looked up to the beams of the roof. It was almost second nature what came next; with a nice lunge and swift footing, the boy escaped to the roof beams, perching himself out of sight. His quick movement went unappreciated by the horses who bearly knew him and they gave a protest to his quick vanishing act by letting out a neigh and stamping the ground with their hooves. In perfect balance he knelt waiting for who ever it was to make themselves known. Was it one of the teachers?

No. The small sillouete that spilled into the stable was not one that belonged to the frame of an adult. It was one of the other students. Machi didn't know his name but knew with one look, this one was a solitary soul. And quite out of his element. As the youth walked along below, Machi passed silently above, footing as quiet and careful. He used the sounds of the animals to mask his presence. When he neared the door, he dropped down landing on all fours alerting the other to his presence. Machi didn't speak but returned a placid look.

The big cats that inhabited his island gave off a similar vibe that demanded their own space and warned others not to intrude. That or it was that friend that he called 'trouble'. After a moment, he gave the other youth his space and left curtly. He could come back another time. Perhaps it was time to find Fuego. Knowing him, he'll be having kittens trying to find Machi. From the stables to the main structure, Machi had utilized the same window that he'd escaped. These windows were very unecessary. They were as big as door ways, why not make them so?

The thought was brief. As soon as he planted both feet back on the ground, the boy was picking up on the excitment in the air. He tilted his head curiously before wandering on down the halls in search of his aid.

Damien's heart stopped for a second when another boy fell from the ceiling. He took a step back, startled, before quickly regaining his composure. Once again, his expression turned to stone, and he stared with slightly narrowed eyes at the other.

Damien slowly relaxed, though, as the newcomer - or had he been here first? - didn't seem dangerous. In fact, it was only a matter of moments before he had gotten up and left. Watching him leave with carefully hidden curiosity, Damien shrugged and returned to the night-black mare. his amused smirk returning to his face when the horse began sniffing in his pockets.

"I haven't got anything, silly," he drawled, ruffling the silky tuft of hair that fell over her forehead. He could have sworn that her eyes rolled up to him with a huffy, disappointed look. A chuckle left his lips before he could stop it. "Whoa, princess. Don't look at me like that," he retorted in his languid tone, one eyebrow raised lazily. So she was spoiled, was she?

After a bit more prodding and poking about (in every and all rooms he came across) Machi found the source of the excitment. Wandering up to the fourth floor via the east stair well, (for thats where he heard many voices) Machi turned the corner not knowing what he'd find, but found it rather quickly. Upon seeing a group of people at the other end of the hall, the boy doubled back around the corner and lowered himself to all fours reflexively. Hugging the wall Machi peered furtively trying to access the situation. It was a group of adults, three in all and one of the princesses...

"Ah..." And then Machi spotted the small creature. The young woman was still holding it against her. Seeing such a friendship made the Prince smile. This princess wasn't much different than the island girls back home. And it was perhaps through that connection that the boy eased out of his crouching position. Looks like from the way everyone was acting, they were having a lively conversation. Machi wanted to see the creature up close and peronally greet it. It was certainly unique! As he approached he raised a hand to the group speaking lively and loudly so they would know he was there. It was disrespectful to creep up on anyone and he didn't want them to think he was going to attack them! He called out the casual greeting; Spirit's be! But when he spoke it was in his own tongue which sounded much like; "Jfahakj Ro!" Having such a close bond with another living creature was something to be impressed by it spoke tomes of a person's character! If nature's creature could trust you, you were a special person indeed! And so of course Machi wanted to meet with Aurora! If her friend loved being close by her, she was a special person! It was simple to see. Maybe all these people wanted to get to know her too! He actually manuvered to the fore of the group so he was facing Aurora with that impish smile but when he spoke, it was more like he was greeting the spider! "Jfihikj Rcqqadw Ro Ifed oei Udt Oeih vhaoad!" 'Spirits blessing be upon you and your friend!'

Aurora turned to look at Lady Maybelline who had just entered into the room and listened to her suggested offer. The offer was reasonable but she didn't want to leave Webster alone by himself. But then again, she was granted full access to see Webster anytime. Aurora looked at the two lords and Lady Maybelline once more before glancing at Webster. You could see a hint that Webster was almost nodding his head at her, seemingly to agree to what Lady Maybelline had suggested. Aurora smiled at Webster as she then returned her aquamarine eyes to Lady Maybelline, finally giving in with a nod. "Very well then. I'll let Webster stay in your room. I thank you Lady Maybelline for you kind offer," she spoke in a slow manner. "He won't be caged, will he?" she asked as her face became worried, "He's well-trained, really. I guarantee that. Just...don't let him be caged..."

As Aurora spoke, she was surprised to see a prince greeting right in front of her. She realized it was the prince from before that she had spoken to yet he spoke to her like in the language she didn't quite figure out. She looked down at Webster then back at the prince again. 'Was he speaking to Webster?' she thought to herself as she then gave the prince a smile. He seemed to be intrigued with Webster and she couldn't help but be glad about that. "Well hello..." she greeted him.

"Ugh... don't even mention dessert! Now I'm hungry again!" Grace complained, though she did so with a smile on her face. The two headed downstairs. "What do you say we inquire about lunch in the kitchens? Then the cooks can get a jump on our picnic foods. I don't want to try to eat a steak or something on a grass lawn. Finger foods and tea?" It suddenly struck her that she was being very talkative and rather pushy. "Sorry," she said to Amira, hoping she knew what she meant. Grace had a tendency to get carried away, especially when she was cooking up a scheme, however simple it was.

Lord Taite smiled at Lady Maybelline as she entered, but was then distracted by Machi. "What is he saying?" he asked nervously. Whatever it was, it certainly wasn't English, and that made him uneasy. Magic wasn't his forte, and the words could be a curse or a spell or who knew what else.

"It's farthest to the North if I remember the layout correctly," Rylan responded. The three reached his room and it immediately felt as if they were in a green wood. The walls were a pale green, the fabrics a rich forest green, and there was an enormous painting of a magnificent emerald-hued dragon flying over a forest. The colors were quite refreshing to him actually. It certainly took you away from the more academic atmosphere of the school as a whole.

"It's alright," Amira said, understanding Grace's apology. The girl did tend to talk a lot, but Amira didn't mind. It was easier to talk to someone this way, for some reason. At least she wasn't with someone mopey, who wouldn't talk to her at all. "And that sounds like a good plan. Maybe we can pick up a snack on the way there, too." She smiled, knowing that Grace was at least a little hungry again. Besides, they needed their energy if they were to climb these stairs all day, and Amira had only had a banana for breakfast. The kitchen seemed like a good idea. And maybe they'd find Lady Florizel somewhere nearby and ask her if a picnic lunch was acceptable. They needed permission from her, after all.

"I'm not sure," Lord Lawley said, eying the boy and thinking that he was a bit strange. "I believe he was the one that came to school with the translator. But it seems he's lost track of him. We'd best send him to his room... As for you, Aurora," he said, turning from the prince to the young princess. "Thank-you for being so cooperative. I'm sure Webster will be well taken care of." Lawley turned to Lord Taite, who was still watching the island boy. "Shall we be off to escort him to his room, or would you rather stay and discuss things with Lady Maybelline and Princess Aurora?" he inquired, wondering if Taite's fondness of Lady Maybelline would compel him to stand a few more moments with the arachnid.

"It's fine. Stop worrying so much," Aaric said, smiling brightly at Coralie. "Helping a lovely lady such as yourself is no trouble at all." With that reassurance, he followed his brother into the Forest room. "It's very... green," he commented as Rylan looked around the room. He wondered if his room would be blue, considering that it was the Lake room. It occurred to Aaric that his brother and roommate would have to walk the farthest of all of the students to get down to the main floor, or up to their room. Not something Aaric would consider lucky. You'd have to get up at least a couple of minutes earlier... "You like it, Rylan?" he asked, leaning against the door frame.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 29, 2008 6:11 pm

Coralie smiled back at Aaric before Rylan opened his room door.

She peered into the Forest room. It seemed fresh and relaxing, and she could practically smell the scent of nature. Green had always been one of her favourite colours, pale green especially - it just seemed so crisp and refreshing. Her eyes were drawn to the painting of the dragon and lingered there.

"I guess this is why they call it the Forest room," she commented with a smile. She set her bag down for a moment. "I think it's nice."

"Of course not. To cage him up would be out of the question!" Lady Maybelline was pleased to see that the girl was agreeing with her terms. The idea of sharing the same living quarters with such a large arachnid no longer worried her, and it seemed Arabella had warmed up to the idea, the dove realizing the spider would not cause her any harm. But the Lady's smile turned to a look of confusion as the prince came up and spoke. To the spider. She wasn't sure if that was what really happened, but it sure did look like Machi was.
