Meanwhile at about this time Rodir was already almost back to the forest he had started at. Feeling it would be safe for him to free his vine prisoners he tried a new type of magic. He summoned a small storm cloud over the area. The lightning it shot out aimed specifically for vines. Of course, he hadn't practiced it too much so there may have been a few errors in it, but he expected them to be minimal and if nothing else helpful at best.

He calmly thought to himself... immersing his mind in the power of ancient magic. Before long a storm cloud appeared and lightning shot from it in multiple directions, aiming to destroy plants and nothing else.

"So, there you are." Night Shadow said as he appeared behind Rodir. "I know what that fragment is. Give it up, and I wont have to hurt you. Believe me, I don't want to fight..."

Euphrates kept her eyes glued onto the sickle as she inched towards the window. She froze. There was a zapping noise and a flashing coming from the room with the vines, as if lightning were striking the vines.

A bolt of lightning broke through the window, landing at Euphrates's feet. There was an explosion as the bolt came into contact with the marble floor, and Euphrates was thrown back by the blast.

Her patience was wearing thin. She cursed and swore, pulling herself up. Who's idea was this? Where she had come from, there had been no magic sword, no minds-of-their-own vines, no random lightning. This was rediculous.

A chill went down Rodir's spine as he heard the threat. Could his quest for the sword be over already? He tried to buy himself time.

"Hah... I thought I had gotten away..." Rodir had seen most of the people at the building and he knew he'd probably have the most trouble running from Night Shadow.

Rodir stared at the building and the thunderstorm developing. Then a look of shock appeared on his face. He found a way to get his time. "...Okay. I'll give you the shard... But we'd better do the exchange some other time." Rodir pointed at the thundercloud. "That storm... I should've practiced it before! It is slowly developing into a funnel cloud and I think if we don't leave or try to stop it soon it might become a full out tornado!"

And it was so. The funnel cloud loomed over the chapel as lightning shot from it. Rodir ran off to the chapel to try to tell anyone inside to leave. While he knew it was dangerous he didn't want to harm anyone unless he was forced to.

Daisuke looked to her. "Apparently it's not safe in the window...we may as well go out the door!" Daisuke spoke as he dashed to the door glancing at Euphrates to come over.

Euphrates cursed some more as she darted after Daisuke. She picked the lock and they both ran into the other room. She shut the door, but not before seeing the storm cloud becoming a funnel.

Deciding it was just a trick of the eye, she ignored it and ran after Daisuke towards the heart of the chapel.

Daisuke looked at Euphrates. "What now?" He asked her as his hands were back in his pockets.

"Aw screw..." Night Shadow said as he ran back to the chapel.

Myeikura had watched everything happen and had stayed deathly silent. She wasn't one to interfere in things that didn't need interfering with. She saw Night Shadow go back to the chapel and followed him thinking, most likely he knew more than anyone else since she believed him to be the dark shadow thing that had brought most of them there in the first place. Of course she wasn't sure, but these days you couldn't be sure of much and keep a sane mind at the same time.

Hotaru looked around, oblivious to Night Shadow's previous question, and ran around in search of another room in an attempt to escape the massive destruction that would soon surround her and the many other beings within the chapel. "... I knew this place was different, but I assumed it to be no more than an average chapel..."

Euphrates stopped. She could hear footsteps running around in the chapel, and she threw up her arms. This place was supposed to be empty.

"I guess we hide before anyone finds us, now," she told Daisuke. She pulled herself atop a statue carefully as not to shift it, then undid the screws to the vent opening above. Euphrates slipped inside, motioning Daisuke to follow.

Suddenly, Rodir entered back into the center of the chapel, With Night Shadow close behind.

"Do you know how to stop this thing?" Night Shadow asked.

Euphrates slowed her breathing and made it more shallow. With Rodir and Night Shadow already in the room, it was too late to move through the vents. There would be too much noise. Their best bet was wait.

Rodir thought to himself about how to stop the tornado. He then came up with the best answer he had. "I can't very well stop it with normal magic; adding any elements would just make them projectiles. We'll have to calm the wind down somehow... If nothing else I could try to protect the building with an elemental wall and we could wait it out, but we'd be stuck with whatever hostiles are still in here."

Rodir looked up. The tornado continued to grow in size...

"If no other ideas arise I'll have to do that."

In the vent, Euphrates fumed. What was his name, Rodir? So he was the one who had set the vines and lightning on them, even if it was just accidental. She would climbe out and strangle him, like the vines tried to tangle her and Daisuke. See how he would like that. Hostiles? He had no idea...

Euphrates took a slow breath. She was just irritated, that's all. Wait it out, that's what she would do.
