"I'm not worried about those old shadows. There's a new Kant and it's hunting me. And I seriously doubt that it will fear the light." Sora said, eyes lowering to the ground.

"Hmm...that does pose a problem now, doesn't it?" Lyu put her hand in her pockets and, upon noticing she still had the bag of stolen gold coins, paled a little. "Any ide what we can do?" They had reached the lighthouse, and she heaved the heavy door open.

Sokra shrugged. "Wait for them..." He mumbled. "Oh, one more thing. They can kill anybody.... except me. My fears... its..." He sighed. "You should hide. They can't hurt me, but they can kill others with a touch." He silently wondered if she would listen to him. He doubted it.

"Hide...not one of my favorite things to do. If I see a way to help, I will. But otherwise, I will do as you ask. For now." She slipped inside, holding the door open. After Sora stepped in, she let it fall back with a resounding crash. "I know a good place for me."

"Great." Sokra smiled weakly. As Lyu ran off he shook his head, then drew his two swords. He stood there for only a few mintues, but it seemed like hours to Sokra. What I wouldn't give for my cousin's sword at the moment. Or maybe his powers. Oh well. They still can't hurt me. As he had that comforting thought, the lighthouse doors banged open with a resounding crash, and wind howled into the room. The Kant stepped forward. It was wearing a black cloak with the head up, and Sokra couldn't see its face. He didn't have to. "Let's get this over with."The Kant raised two swords also, Sokra noticed. Then he nodded. It's going to be quite a fight.

Lyu watched this from her perch on the rafter, a lowly "dust bunny", a puff of grey. Not a great power, but it helped when she needed to hide. She squinted, a motion invisible to others, and tensed herself for a rough fight.

Sokra charged, bringing his right sword around at chest level, then thrusting at the Kant's head with his left. The shadow blocked Sokra's first attack, but not the second. Sokra's sword went into the hood, but did not come out the other end. Sokra leapt away, cursing under his breath. "I should have known!" He shouted, then muttered under his breath, "Face your fears, face your fears." He and the Kant came together again, swords whirling.

Lyu bounced eagerly, trying not to fall of the rafter. Her new friend's sword had halway disappeared into the shadow's hood, and she was confused as to why it was still fighting.

Sokra sighed, then started pushing the Kant back. His sword slipped through the Kant's defenses, scoring a hit on the chest, but it was minor, and the shadow kept fighting. Sokra closed his eys and leapt backwards, then dropped his weapons and kicked them to the side. The Kant rushed forward, ready to kill.

Lyu's gasp made no sound, or one too small to hear. She clung to the side of the wooden beam, staring at Sokra, praying for him to fight, not give up.

As the Kant, near him, he frontflipped over its head, his sword back in his hand after being blown by an unseen gust of wind, his other hand pulling the Kant's hood, yanking it's head back, and his sword tip at it's throat. Sokra saw himself, and his eyes, staring up at him, regarding him. Like he knew would happen.

Another inaudible gasp from lyu, and this time her grip slipped. She floated slowly to the ground, bobbing back and forth in the updraft. She watched Sokra warily, unsure of the fight now that there were two of him.

Sokra swore at his own image and slit the Kant's throat. Then he tossed it against the wall and thrust his sword into it's stomach, embedded the blade in the wall and holding the Kant there. The black light in it's eyes faded to gray, then white, then the light was gone completely. Sokra stood their shuddering, looking at his body pinned against the wall. The he sighed and slumped against the far wall.

Lyu touched the ground softly, slowly regaing her form. it took a little longer to grow to her normal size, but when she did she stepped over the body of the shadow thing and knelt near Sokra.

"Are you alright?" She whispered.
