@raine
I don't really put much hope in governmental systems in general they're flawed as the people I hold out hope for just things getting better since that's the cycle of life bad that gets better over time. Things will get better in the future i'm sure

@alex
I've been trying to get an art class but in this college i'm at the science major's scheduled classes often conflict with art classes there so it's hard to get a spot to put it in.

And all the pics on the first page of this forum are digital art. I mean my sig i digital art. I do traditional art but rarely to show on gaia

@raine:
classes are bit easier with one less on my list. But I didn't do too well with an exam but it's above average so I'm taking solace in that fact. Thanks for asking. What about you what's new with you?

(oh I haven't started your freebie art prize yet but I'm hoping some time this week I'll have the time) sweatdrop

@alex:
aww it's okay. have you seen the link to my deviantart.com art gallery? It's on the first page. I have both traditional and digital art there.

If you have any questions I'm happy to answer. 4laugh

Above average sounds pretty good to me ^_^ nothing really new with me, other than I'm getting my house repainted today. My braty kids love writing on the walls lol. Whenever I walk into the living room or the kitchen I see like random numbers and letters on the walls. Sometimes I see 'mom' or 'dad' ^^ It looks so cute that I can't really get too mad them razz Its funny when the oldest ( she's 5) writes her name and then I ask just for fun who did this and she blames it on her brother or my daughter. ( she's 2 and a half ) lol

Its fine about the freebie, I know you've got a lot of stress already so honestly take as much time as you want on it 3nodding

How do you people draw like that? That's anamazing gallery Shanti! Does it take very long to make digital art like that?

Haha @ Raine. But I thought you only had the 2 year old girl. Where did the other two come from? xp

@raine
Aww that is cute. 4laugh Yeah you can't get mad because that's what kids do. Just a stern "now that was not nice to do on the wall" but then you end up smiling at what they did anyway. I have no kids but younger siblings and there's a 10 year difference between me and the youngest so I've seen it all. The youngest has autism so it's been a journey but it's helped me appreciate life more seeing how the little things are so big for her. You know?

Well, let's say my goal is before or during spring break.

@alex:
How? well I use to draw on paper a whole lot longer and that was way before i ever did anything on the computer. When I was in 5th grade I started to draw on MS Paint drawing pokemon theme pictures for my book covers for school since we used paper bags from teh grocery store to cover them and I wanted to do something different for them. I wish I saved them they were pretty good for an 11 yr old XD or I'm just being biased.

Anyways I didn't truly do digital or CG art until sophomore year in highschool I got a deviantart account in '06. I started off by either drawing from scratch with a mouse or scan a drawn picture on the computer. I have the original version of OpenCanvas and I never really used anything else. I have other programs now but I'm a bit in favor of OC since it suits my style even though there isn't a lot of extra stuff.

Most of my drawings average 3-5 hours. But the gaia freebie art tend to take 1-3 hours since I already have the idea just need to worry about pose and composition.

LOL. sorry that was a long answer sweatdrop

They just dropped from the sky one day Alex! LOL Seriously, though. I live with my sister, her husband and her two kids. The 5 year old is her daughter also the oldest, then a 4 year old boy is also hers. Then the youngest 2 and a half year old girl is mine. I've lived with my sis since she was pregnant 5 years ago so to me they're like my kids too ^^

I know what your trying to say Shanti. I had a friend in High school with autism. She may not have been able to do many things but really she was one of the kindest and most loving friend I had. I consider myself to be very blessed with my husband and daughter. I'm sorry to hear about your sibling, but I am glad to hear that they have a supportive family to help them. I wish your family all the best heart

LOL, it takes me like days to make a decent looking sketch using a pencil and paper. Mostly cause I don't have any time. But my daughter is starting pre-school in august so I'm hoping I could open up a freebie thread then.

Here is my recent disaster ( Keep the laughing to a minimun please sweatdrop )

HAHAHAHAHA@Raine's drawing!!! rofl

I'm just kidding, don't kill me! *runs away in a corner* whee

Come on girl, you must be blind. That's a very good picture, espically for someone who hasn't had any classes at all. Your a self-taught artist haha. You do have some weak points but that gets better with time and practice right?

Let me know when you open up your freebie thread, I'll be the first one in line mrgreen

wow, raine you must live in one full house ( full house! Remember that show? lol ) I know that was lame rolleyes

Doesn't it get pretty crowded tho? At least you know you'll never be bored. At my house its just me and my Uncle. So the fun factor there is pretty slim haha.

I've never known anyone with Autism. I hear its a very tough thing to live with, and can get very challenging. All the best to your family from me too Shanti-Suchi 3nodding

If you were here Alex I would throw my laptop at you LOL but thanks for the kind words and encouragment.

It is a pretty full house, espically since I have my father in law and mother in law living with us, and the work load is definatly more. But there are good points to it. We have two incomes coming in so that's a big help. I have a live in babysitter ( my sister lol ) so me and my husband can go on a late night movie or dinner if we want. And I have someone to talk to if I have any problems or anything. ( meaning if I ever want to complain about my hubby xd )

And YES I used to love that show too! but for some reason those twin girls always got on my nerves. Even when they were babies.

Aw thanks Alex I appreciated the supportive words. It's hard but always has made me grateful as well. There's good and bad with all situations and this happens to be the situation with my family as of now. 3nodding
