He blinked and eyed her "Nice to speak to? When have you spoken to him?" Bhaskar rarely ever talked to anything that could be food.. exceot maybe a bird or two.. he never was very intimidating, he thought, but for some reason prey never really seemed to want to be friends with him..

"A couple of times - I went the first time to wish them swiftness and courage, he wished me good hunting and a cat's cunning." Oh no. She'd put her paw in it again, hadn't she? Rahima had always been friendly and respectful of all animals, had taught Muroki to be the same, and hopefully her cubs would do so too...but it wasn't normal, was it? She answered him sheepishly.

Bhaskar blinked "Interesting, to say the least.. I actually well.. never really thought of talking to my food.. " he blinked and tilted his head, still watching the zebra. Well, it was food.. I mean.. right? How could I be friends with my food?

"I got into the habit when I used to travel alone - was trapped for a few days, after a rock slide, with an antelope. I know it's weird."

She turned her gaze back to the fighting zebra and their herd. She rested her head on her paws, while her ears laid back flat. Rahima felt like a freak, to be honest. X3

"Trapped with an antelope? Were you too small to kill it?" He glanced at her and his own big ears drooped a little. Okay, so she talked to food.. he had tried it too, once. Maybe now would be a good time to share that experience...

"Y'know.. I tried to talk to a wild dog once... when I was real little.. " the bad memory came back to him and he eyed the patch of dirt in front of his paws "..It uh.. bit me, then ran off... he couldn't've been too much older than I was..."

"I was little more than a cub. Kept me alive, that antelope..." A small, wistful smile played across her face a moment, before vanishing into a frown. A wild dog bit him? Poor Bhaskar.

"It's a shame the thing bit you. More than half of the creature's in this world aren't friendly, I think. More's the pity." Her attention was once again on the zebras, carefully so.

Bhaskar watched the reddish lioness and caught himself, following an invisible 'bird' up and away from her, before turning his attention too, to the zebras, not knowing what else to say.

Presently the mewling of her cubs caused Rahima's ears to flick back - they'd woken in their small den the other side of the rock. Her break was over, obviously. Standing, she nudged Bhaskar's shoulder again lightly with the flat of her head and muzzle.

"I'll see you later, perhaps?" She waited for an answer with a smile.

Bhaskar blinked up at her. Shame, he liked having Rahima around.. even if their conversation died down, it was nice to have a little companionship for a while.. And Rahima was good company.. she was pretty. "Um.. right.." he stood up. "Um.. unlessyou're hungry.. I could maybe bring you ..something.. " he glanced back at the zebras then to Rahima and sort of smiled.

It was Rahima's turn to blink; she couldn't remember the last time someone offered to bring her food. Oh wait, that'd been Bhaskar too, a few weeks ago. Surprisingly sweet, ne?

"Um...actually, that'd be, nice. I'll see to the little ones and be right back, then we can share? ...thanks" With a subtle purr, she padded round the rock to soothe her twins after some nightmare or other. She wasn't long gone. She liked spending time with him.

Bhaskar shook himself as she walked off and padded a few steps forward, stretching out a leg with each step. He narrowed his eyes at the zebra herd ahead and chose a tasty looking straggler, then went for the kill.

As soon as he could, he dragged the meal back to where Rahima and he had been and sat, waiting patiently for Rahima to start first.

"Thankyou, Bhaskar" It took her a few moments to realise he was waiting on her, since usually the male started first. But then, it should've been her job as the female to hunt, she supposed.

With a quick slash of her front paw to make eating easier - and a very quick prayer of thanks to the zebra in her head, rather than out loud - Rahima dug in.

Pumbaa had been wandering for days but it had felt like weeks. His legs ached and his stomach ached and his head ached and he just plain felt bad. His mind swam as he traveled, not really taking in where he was at the time. He was hungry for a good sized bug and perhaps a mud bath. His tail no longer we held high but dragged on the ground, leaving a line trail between his hoove prints. He did not notice the steady downhill incline of the Crater, nor did he recognize the smell's of lions down there. His eyes focused on the surroundings. He blinked. Then his beady black eyes spotted the Male and he balked confused like. Then his senses came to him. There was a female too and they were feeding. His eyes lowered and he began to back up. They were going to kill him for sure.

Licking what little blood she'd already got on her muzzle away, she turned to look at the warthog. She'd heard his steps and his cloven hooves had grabbed her attention. Ah. He looked scared...which she supposed was to be expected - she flashed Bhaskar a smile (meaning: don'thurthimwehavefood).

"Erm...hello, sir hog? I'd invite you to join us but...well."

Bhaskar eyed the hog and chuckled at Rahima's comment "Yeah.. I mean.. if you want, you can dig up.. bugs or leaves or whatever it is that you eat.. You're safe." He tried out a smile, forgetting that that would show off his sharp, and somewhat bloodied up teeth..
