Caligdula took off at a moderate pace. She was in fairly decent shape. She left for the outskirts. She didn't know about the cafe, but she knew where to find Gifted.

Magus followed closely behind his superior. His purple hair flowed behind him as he walked. He normally breathed out smoke, but he tried to hide it around others. The smell had residency in his clothing, but at least it wasn't visible. "So, how long have you been working here?"He asked trying to start conversation.

Caligdula shrugged her shoulders. "For a while. I was in Manhattan before. Um..." She really had forgotten how long it had been. She had been supervisor for about 10 years she knew that, but she hadn't changed her duties in well over a hundred years. She just change location and titles. She tried to maintain consistent so no one would think that she was older than she was supposed to be.

"So you were before Roma?"He asked surprised. He figured if anything she'd be the one taking Manhatten, they needed some more structure.

Caligdula laughed. "Oh no. Roma is 50 years old and had been at his post for a good 25 years. I just said I was at Manhattan before. I never had his job. I was head of the Research Section. Not a very big part as you may have heard. They expend the most toward the hunting. They do have the most surrounding Gifted. I moved here when the Head offered me the supervisory position 10 years ago." She smiled at that. This position had finally opened up 10 years ago. She could have sworn it took forever for the previous supervisor to die. She was only in Manhattan for a little while, but she didn't find it wise to elaborate lest Magus figure out that she was older than the age she was up keeping. He probably suspected she was Gifted. Her powers was not something she really hid. But, her only ability seemed to sense Gifted. It was considered useless and made her look nearly normal in comparison. The only red flag about her were her red eyes and bangs. She supposed that she could have just said that they were dyed that way and she wore contacts, but she had too much pride.
At the mention of Nero she grimaced. She had met him and his sullen younger brother. She could trust the Claudius, but Nero seemed to always have the gears in his head working. He rose too his power too quickly. She was worried that he would find out about her. What she did...she didn't want that. Though, she did wish he would share more information with her. She really would like to have the sly one on her side.
Callie shook her head vigorously. "I'm sorry. Got lost in my thoughts. What about you?" She hopped the Gifted would open up to her. She liked knowing everything about people. He was no different. Half the reason why he had been denied a junior supervisory position was that he was Gifted, the other half was simply was that she didn't know enough about him.
((Wow that is long... sweatdrop My muse hit me on the head I guess. Maybe it will help write the essay that is due tomorrow now.))

"Not much to know about me, most of it's in my files, but if you want to know something go ahead and ask."He said.He really didn't care what they knew as long as he stayed free, and he got paid.

((Dunno...where is Mit for that matter?))
Caligdula sighed. He just was not a talkative person, was he? A file could say anything. She knew that well. Her file stated that she was 35 years old and was born in Manhattan. She had joined the Government at a young age. She was on the prodigy level and went through college sponsored by the Government. She became junior supervisor of the Research division almost immediately because of their jump start program She then transfered to Oxford at the age of 25 where she had been ever sense, but that was a far cry from the truth. She would never admit it of course. She didn't know if what she had ever seen on Magus's file was the truth or not. Not only that, but a file could not give her insight into Magus as a person. Did he join the Government to survive? Was he just a self hating Gifted that wanted his own kind destroyed? Or was he trying to bring down the Government for the inside? He would never own up to any of these accusations, but she could hope for a slip. It seemed like she would never get it. The Gifted had his mouth sealed shut. She couldn't trust a person like that. She continued to walk toward the outskirts sniffing the air.
She decided to try again after several moments of silence. "A monkey can read your files, but they can't find out much about you from it."

I'd like everyone to slow down a bit and post long, so others can join. chibi_raenef ((I am so lost on the gifted guild.....-_-' help? I don't understand it...plus you are all so far.....)) Magus always used this story, it made him sot sound like a weakling like the truth did.In reality he got tired of hiding and you know what they say, If you can't beat them join them.He did exactly that."Fine, I joined the oxford branch a little over a year ago, I had a few good reasons, but the main one was I needed a way to get the supplies for my tests done. The government gave me that opportunity and I took it.Now I went from using the stuff in secondary schools to using top of the line chemicals. The only reason I signed up to be a field agent, is I needed ways to view how useful my concoctions are. If I just sat inside and read the reports, I wouldn't see how fast it reacts, or how long it lasted, or if it even worked.Plus most of the people whom I have allowed use of my special ammo just shoot it like a normal bullet, but you have to aim for the right places."He said.
The scanner wasn't exactly meant to be used by a gifted. It constantly had an arrow pointed towards them both. But the number was still highly useful. It was the only way Magus could tell if there was another gifted nearby or not.
((That's about as good as you'll get from me Marrissa.
Where were you yesterday?))

(( Do you think Emily and Fitz are likely to run into Magus and Callie? That could be good. Maybe in the cafe...)) Emily reached the crest of the hill, covering her eyes before she cleared the top. She pulled her hands away, and below her was not the sight she'd expected. She gaped. It was still Oxford, full of beautiful old buildings, but it was much bigger than before, and much scarier. She wondered why it didn't seem smaller, now she was older, but then she realised what she was seeing. Before, she'd seen it the way an innocent girl sees a city. Now, she was looking at it like the deathtrap it was. She gulped down her fear. If she told Fitz how scary it was, he'd turn back or something. She didn't just want to show somebody the city. She was scared. If two Gifteds stuck together they were stronger than one. Hopefully. She walked on. It wasn't far to the Outskirts Cafe.

((No duh, Sherlock. That is the plan. And I don't think Callie registers she is a race.))
Callie smiled. "Well at least you admit it." She tossed her hair again. She kept a close eye on the scanner and an even closer one on her nose. Well, metaphorically speaking.
Brother looked from Emily to Fitz. He could smell her fear of course. Fitz probably could too from being so feral. Fitz was afraid too. He had never even glimpsed the city had had spent his whole life living near. He was an animal, and animals were meant to stay in the woods. He wasn't much of a fighter for that matter either.

Magus reached into his pocket and pulled out some grape flavored bubble gum.He put a piece in his mouth."Want some?"He asked. He still had an eye on the scanner. The number was still near 708. the normal number was from 275 through 420.At least that's what the manual said, but when Magus was using it, 700-720 wass more the case.He didn't know how it worked, but he knew that if it went out of that range, there would probably be a gifted nearby.
"So, What's your favorite catch?"He asked trying to start a new conversation. He sighed remembering his last catch. He never really wanted to catch them or hurt them, that is why he made sedatives.Sure he still shot them, but it only took one bullet, and his bullets are similar to a leech bite. They have something to weaken the pain, they just basically freeze their muscles temporarily.Much more humane than other ways.
