michigami it is NOT the same person. Yasuyuki Ueda. Look him up. And Hirano stated several times he doesn't want to get majorly involved, he confessed he LIKED the OA for "having its own identity." Honestly, why are you TLDR about religion when Hellsing's not a special snowflake about adaptations. Look at Dracula. Either way, OVA just changed hands to Madhouse for next episode and rumors has it Ueda was finally fired. I hope so.

It means "too long, didn't read" a joke expression used on line when the argument is too lengthy. If you read what I said, you would know I used it for mine as well.
You're missing the point completely as well. Let me explain in case this isn't obvious Hellsing's not a religion or myth made by many chapters, so its worshippers would deem "canon" or "apocrypha". It's just a fictional work that is subjected to adaptations that could be faithful and couldn't be faithful.
OVA isn't completely faithful, there has been changes since the beginning. Just because it's following the story more faithfully doesn't make it the "original" and the same as the manga, just like the BBC adaptation in miniseries of Dracula novel doesn't make it the same "universe" because is more faithful that the Gary Oldman or Bela Lugosi one. Nobody in ANY fandom would place the original novel canon together with those movies, as faithful some are. There is multiple versions of canons in them as it's in here; OVA is different from the Manga. Scenes have been cut, some have been added, lines and personalities have been changed. The story is also told in a different way, thus can't BE the same. Therefore, is another universe with its own canon: OVA canon. What seems to be a piece of cake to understand for every fandom I've been in, sure seems difficult to this one.
I hope this time, my point came clearer. Hirano is not in charge of this project, his task is that sometimes they ask him some doubts. He's an unpaid supervisor that is self-confessed not very involved in the production (that would be the producer, same as the OA, called Ueda). Furthermore, I bet the whole feeling of the OVA will change in next episode as the studio was changed. The Studio is what is in charge of the whole thing. In the OA was Gonzo, the 1-4 OVA episodes was Satelite, now the project is on Madhouse's hands.

.....Nobody here takes the series that seriously. sweatdrop I think it's interesting that you accuse our members of this when you are the one who first seemed determined to prove someone else wrong on an issue that barely mattered, and was so off topic in this thread. Quote: ....BBC adaptation in miniseries of Dracula novel doesn't make it the same "universe" because is more faithful that the Gary Oldman or Bela Lugosi one. Wait... The BBC version... which BBC version was that...? Sorreh, I only remember that Masterpiece theatre one, and I remember that one being HIGHLY off the course of the book... but perhaps I'm wrong... sweatdrop ...So could you perhaps PM me which one you where referring to? I would really like to know. 3nodding I say PM, because I am locking this thread until everyone cools down, as in, ages from now when this debate has long since been forgotten. neutral I'm sorry that I felt the need to do this, since I believe many out there would like to carry on the crack discussion, but it seems like the best thing to do right now. neutral EDIT: thread is now unlocked again. PLAY NICE.

Suni moon Nah, besides, we all know The Major is just a Nazi so he can have all those Nazi perks that make him happy. (Afterall, being able to say "I'm a Nazi!" really helps with all his "VARRRR!" moments.) But yeah. We have Zorin the lesbian Nazi.....and we also have a lack of blond hair and blue eyes. I mean...Lets see...I think The Major, and Schro...Is The Dok blond?..oh and Luke.... You'd think if they where really up to standards they'd just have the Dok make them 'perfect'. So yah. They aren't very Nazi-ish. =/ Oh! Another pairing... ZorinxRip? Personally, I can see the two in a sisterly relationship, but there is a possibility of romantic. They do seem like they might go together. I don't ship it though. =/ In my world, they didn't really know eachother too well. I really don't see anyone in Millennium knowing eachother.... Aside from maybe Scho, The Captain, The Major, and Dok. Haha, the RipxZorin actually makes me giggle quite a bit. I cosplay a Rip, and my girflriend cosplays a Zorin, so we get plenty of "OMG CRACK PAIRING." comments on us, and when we explain we are an actual couple, let the OMGs begin. xD;

Zorin might be a bit rough for Rip, though. But who knows?

*cough* IntegralSeras. I needed something femslash-y at the time I discovered it, and then I found a bunch of fanart, so I was just like, 'kay, shipping this now.'

I have never had much of a knack for pairing characters for a romantic relationship. I suppose if I reached into other series I might come up with a reasonable character match.
However most of the time I think of war couples. Which two character would be the greatest when placed back to back and pitted against a insurmountable foe.
