"Hmm....." she thought, she hadn't been too social. It wasn't her nature. "Well, there's this girl named Elisa... I saw her come in with some kind of box, I don't know what it was... And there's this girl named Fred. I think she talks to a ghost." Lillian smiled, Willow was the only true friend she had, though. The person she could trust the most. Still, she wanted to give other girls a chance at freedom. It would be a so great! It would be a little breakout. A breakout with her friend.

"Oh my god, you know people! YAY!" Willow Saw Elisa run halfway down the hall after some transvestite(or she thought it was a transvestite), but she didn't know Elisa. A bell rang. Lunch was over. "Bye, Lillian, I'll see you tomorrow." Willow marched back to her cell with the row of girls. The nurses scared her. "In you go, love." The nurse gestured towards the sooty door. Willow walked inside and heard the door slam behind her. The keys jingled. The sound was like music to her ears, a happy sound. Willow smiled.

"No, I just see people..." Lillian said, she didn't like to disappoint Willow, but it was the truth. "Good bye! And don't forget!" Lillian smiled. The nursed looked at her like she was insane. They had all the reason to, but Lillian giggled because they had no idea what was going to happen. She just hoped other girls would have the courage. The courage to break out, to defy the system! Lillian was so thrilled at this idea, she nearly screamed a war cry! But she didn't, she wanted this to go perfect, and it would.

Somewhere in a high, solitary room, a pale, wan young woman opens cloudy eyes unaccustomed to light. For the first time in thirteen years, she turns her head. Wide-eyed, terrified, she slips out from under the rough sheet and begins to scream. She screams no real words until her throat is raw, screams until she can taste the iron tang of blood in her mouth, screams until the nurse rushes in and forces laudanum down her unresisting throat. She sleeps, but she will soon rise.
After thirteen years, Johanna has awoken.

Lillian jumped at the sound of a scream. It was a horrible, deafening scream. She was worried, what if that was Willow? Even if it wasn't, she still was a little concerned. What happened to that poor girl? Or maybe... No, no. It had to have been real. I'm not hearing things! Confused and worried- a combination of feelings she rarely ever experienced until lately-, she went to sleep. Tomorrow, she would find out what had happened.

Upon opening her eyes, Johanna is greeted by the sight of desperately grey walls covered in rotting muslin padding. Slowly, she stretches near-atrophied lips into a wicked smile. She was terrified. Now she understands.
She understands everything.
The first bells of six o'clock find her wandering the halls, deliberately placing one foot in front of the other. By six-thirty she has found the common mess hall, and sits attentively in the exact centre, gazing, and occasionally giggling, at nothing.

Willow was sitting in the corner, growing weak. Two days past, and willow was still sitting in the corner, not moving, not thinking, just sitting. In the morning, Willow started thinking about certain things, certain memories. From the day she first made a crumpet to her mothers screams as she saw her daughter carried away in a barred carriage to Lillian's laughter. Lillian. Whatever happened to Lillian in the past few days?Willow began to worry. She remembered the plan. "Oh my, I must Go eat right away! I must see Lillian and start making those grenades!" As willow scourged the room for flamable materials when she heard a painful scream. "Jesus, what is that!"

Lillian walked down the hallway towards the mess hall. She was thinking, thinking about all sorts of things. What had become of her friend Willow? She seemed to have disappeared. She hoped she would come to dinner. Who screamed? Why? She desperately wanted all of these questions answered. She didn't even bother getting today's gruel, she just sat down. Looking beside her she noticed a girl. She seemed to be staring at a space somewhere between the wall and the ceiling and giggling to herself. She might could come with us. "Hello there." Lillian said as casually as she could, the nurses were looking. Leaning, she attempted to see what the girl saw. As far a Lillian could tell there was nothing. "Whatcha looking at?"

The deafening dinner bell rang. Willow was relieved that she finally got a chance to leave the cell. She skipped down the glum halls and glided into the large cafeteria. She began to look for Lillian. When she had found her, she gave her a bear-hug. "Hello! I missed you. Or I would have If I had realized I was still breathing. Who's this?" Willow gazed at the completely loony girl sitting close to her. "Hello, there, m'am. " The girl didn't answer. "I almost forgot. Have you thought up anything about 'the great escape'?"

Lillian gasped. "Willow!" She hugged her as tight as she could. "I missed you too! Are you all right?" Lillian looked over to the girl beside her. "I have no idea, but I thought she might.... you know." She looked up at nothing in particular. "Well was think about what we would use." Lowering her voice to a whisper, she continued. "I thought we could get some cloth and fill it with gun powder.... All I need to figure out how we're going to actually get it. You got any ideas?" Lillian glanced over at the loony girl again. Is she ever going to answer?

"We could soak the cloth in oil, attach a string to it, set the string on fire, and throw it! Crap, where will we get those materials?" Willow thought hard. "Hmmm. . . . . .well. . . .when the nurses come to inject us with those HUGE syringes filled with sedatives, and jab them with the syringes. We can take the keys and go into storage room number 11. I'm sure they'll have stuff in there.

"You are brilliant my friend!" Lillian clapped her hands together. "We should do it together..." She thought for a moment. "If they don't do it at the same time, we'll break the other one out. If they do, we should meet each other at the hall where the storage rooms are."

"Well, let's see.... We could take her." ,she pointed over to the loony girl, "Assuming we can get her to talk." She thought for a moment, "I don't know anybody else too well... What about you?"

"No, not really, loony girl it is, the one girl that belongs here and she's the only one that is a good friend to us."Willow nibbled at the porridge. Oh my god, it's alive!Willow couldn't bare it, it tasted far too grotesque. Now, we'lll have none of that! No Anorexia in this house! "So, Have you conjured up a date? When will we leave this raggedy place behind?"
