You hear nothing from behind you as you make the hand signal, and then notice that the Akatsuki is not looking at you but at something over your shoulder.
Turning around you can see that Misao and Anji have already made like the trees of Konoha...and left! You see them clambering up and over a window as something buzzes by your ear, a single destruction bug.
"C'mon wonderboy!!" Misao yells from the window s the bug reaches the large Akatsuki.
~FWOOSH~
Upon impact the bug turns back into a smoke bomb that explosions on contact, filling the small warehouse with white smoke. Giving you a chance to escape!...if you can remember where that open window is.

"!!!" Motoko looked at the Akatsuki woman. Her figure was absolutely frightening. She was more beast than person. The large tail and mouths everywhere..The young girl's hand slid down to the holster at her side, snatching three senbon from it, her hand still shaking slightly.
She had to pick a target..she assumed the body was real enough. She launched three of the thin silver spikes at the woman's torso, her eyes turning to her teammate on the ground.
"Sanosuke! Let's go!"

Kyo turned tail and ran as soon as the smoke bomb exploded. Unfortunately for him he couldn't find the window right away. He realized he was lost in the smoke when he ran face-first into the wall behind him.
Running his hands through the familiar seals he inhaled a large breathe, then quickly spit it out. The fireball that came from his mouth opened a hole in the wall in front of him, which he threw himself through.
Stopping for only a second to breath some fresh air, he started on a mad dash after the two that had left him behind.

Smoke rushed out of the hole that you created and you start to dash out into the rice field with your comrades. Misao's Byukagen is still active as she says, "He's not moving, I think we lost him with the smoke bomb---Wait, no something is moving. Kyo look out!!!"
From behind something springs out of the smoke and is making a beeline right for you!
Objective: Dirge of Destruction!
Speed + Defense + 8-sided Dice = Total Number of Successes to Evade the Akatsuki Attack
If a 1 is rolled then a Dramatic Failure is produced, you are grabbed by the attack and pulled back towards the building
14 Successes = Evade the oncoming Attack

The senbon flew through the air and right on target, however there was a soft ~ting, ting, ting~ sound as the mouths on one of the tails caught the senbon and began to chew them.
"Senbon, such a disgusting taste to them. Are you trying to spoil my meal, kunoichi?"
As you started to run she casually reached down and picked up her straw hat placing it on her head. "I do love a good chase..."
Meanwhile, Sanosuke was dashing through the wetlands of the rice fields next to you as you both made a beeline for the forested area that would lead back to the refugee camp. "If we can make it to the forest we will stand a 35% higher chance of survival or escape in this situation."

Kyo didn't stop to turn around, but he did look over his shoulder in time to see the attack coming. In the next few moments of his life his brain seem to stop, his mind had frozen over as his instincts of self-preservation took over.
It was though he wasn't in control of his body, but rather was viewing the actions of someone else through their own eyes. As his foot hit the ground to continue his run, his leg bent down and the straightened as he vaulted himself into a flip forwards and to his left. As he flipped through the air he turned.
Upside-down and facing the attack he landed on his hands, forcing himself through a series of four back flips, and another flip with a turn mid-air, forcing himself into a run again. By the time he started running again his mind had unfrozen. He dared not look behind him again, but he figured he cleared a good five to seven feet from the attempted attack.
"How the hell did you manage to talk me into coming along!?"

"Because apparently you're morbidly curious about PRINTING PRESSES!" Misao exclaimed at you! She and Anji come skidding to a stop after gaining about 150 yards of distance from the building. "So what was that exactly"
"I'm not sure" Anji responded.
As the team watched the smoke billow from the building in silence for a long moment everything almost seemed peaceful. Then Misao exclaimed, "Whoa! He's doing something again, watch out Anji!"
Multiple objects flew from out of the smoke towards the group. Misao and Anji dodged, jumped and rolled out of the way and you saw the large objects whirl past you as well.
As they missed they travelled on and slammed into the forestry behind you, leveling some of the trees. As the dust cleared you could see large metallic objects impaled through some of the remaining trees and in the ground, giant kunai.

"What. The. HELL!?! There's no way anything human could toss this s**t."
Kyo was shaking as his mind raced through all of the imaginative possibilities it could come up with, one of them being a sort of demon with a cannon on it's back. A cannon that fired giant kunais.
"Something like that's not possible..." He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. He though of the things he liked; robots, wiring, kittens. Then he pictured the demon firing kittens out of his cannon, and he felt better. A thought struck him, and he decided to be vocal with it.
"What if that wasn't the thing they're hiding? What if there's a weapon somewhere around here that they're using to toss giant things at us? WHAT IF IT'S A GIANT CANNON!?"

Clearly the collective age of the group is shown as Anji and Misao look at each other then you as the idea, in the paniced state everyone is on, actually seems more than plausible. "RUN!!!" Misao said as she pointed towards the forest and took off at a full spring.
Anji as well looked freaked out and had his hands in the air above his head as he dashes towards the forest as well!

Kyo took off after them. He hoped that it was wasn't a cannon. He also hoped it wasn't some sort of terrifying cannon firing demon. Although he soon realized that if it was a demon, he'd most likely be the first to be eaten, as he was the last of them retreating.

The smoke started to clear out of the building and Dirge saw the three Genin disappear from the rice fields into the forest. Another huge kunai drops to the floor out of nowhere and leaves a small impact crater as his hand grips around it's handle. He is about to lift it up when a flickering image of another Akatsuki appears.
"Is it secured?"
"It is now but there's three nosey Konoha Genin that discovered it."
"And?"
"I was about to dispatch them."
"Leave them, the 'package' is more important"
The image disappears and Dirge lets out a deep, disappointed "Tch."
Meanwhile in the forest, Misao has the team stop after fleeing more than 500 yards into the thick, rainy forest. "I think we lost him, I can't see him anywhere near us. He must still be at that house." She pants, leaning against a tree while she tries to catch her breath.

Motoko ran through the fields, her feet splashing through the water. Every step made her feel slightly better. Like she was escaping fate.
She nodded at Sanosuke's assessment. "Ok. Sounds good, but..won't that lead them back to the encampment? What if innocent people get caught in our conflict?"

Sanosuke pondered that for a moment, "That was a variable I had not considered. While it is likely that Akatsuki knows of the encampment we can't risk that they won't assault it if they are provoked."
Finally reaching the forest Sanosuke takes to the trees. He looks around as if he is thinking for a moment. "We'll go to the northwest, which is still parallel with the refugee camp but not intersecting while we, uhm, flee."

"Kind of like messing with a hornet's nest.." Motoko nodded as they reached the forest. Their temporary 'safety'. Though she wondered how safe the trees would make them from their attackers many mouths...
The young girl jumped slightly, grasping a tree branch with both hands before using it like a vault, launching herself into the rest of the tree tops. Her feet took her flying through, catching up to Sanosuke. "Alright, Sounds like a plan..." She paused slightly. "But then what?"

Sanosuke looked over at you and say, "Hmm..... I have no idea yet. We could always depend on the Chaos Theory and hope that in some cosmic consequence will give us a small advantage."
~CRASH~
From behind you can hear entire trees near the edge of the forest being torn down. Sanosuke half looks behind himself and he catches what looks like the black cloak of Akatsuki starting to gain on them.
"Run! Run! Little Genin, all that exercise will make your meat taste SO much sweeter to my pets!"

"So, what should we do now? Keep heading back to camp or risk going back for a second look around?"
Kyo was looking down while he spoke, at his thumbs. He was looking at his thumbs because he was twiddling them mindful against each other. He was doing this because it provided visual stimuli, which he knew would distract himself so that he didn't start thinking about a cannon demon again.
