Chaeren urged her dragon onwards mentally, knowing that whoever was in charge of the candidate probably wouldn't be happy if they found one of them missing. Chaeren figured it was probably bad enough that he'd missed out on his chores, yet somehow she didn't think anyone would really notice, what with the flight going on and all.
Yersith winged quickly on, though made a circle to waste time at one point as the mating flight participants came a little to close for comfort. After that though it was only a few minutes before the green dragon was touching down in the Weyr bowl, not far from the dining hall.
Chaeren deftly undid her straps and dismounted gracefully before turning and helping Talon out of his straps and offered him a hand down. "Well, home again home again!" she said and chuckled as she offered him her hand.

He felt the surge underneath him as Yersith picked up speed. He watched as they circled the Weyr, he picked out all the familiar places that he knew of. Before he knew it they were descending deep into the Weyr bowl. He took her hand then slid down off the dragon's back. "All too soon, if you ask me." He said, but with a grateful smile. Right as he reached the ground his knees buckled underneath him, he forced them to work for him as he made a few steps forward.

"Oh, watch out!" she said and caught Talon before he fell all the way to the ground. "Your legs fall alseep?" she asked with a chuckle. She listened to the sounds coming from the dining hall and turned back to the candidate boy. "You'd better get a move on, sounds like they've already started in there!" she said and stretched slightly after their long ride. It'd been awhile since she'd gone flying just for pleasure. "Thanks again for your help today. It was fun." she said with a smile.
'Yes. Today was...fun.' the dragon said to both her rider, and boy. 'When you have impressed, we will go flying again.' Yersith said matter of factly.

He grinned and rubbed his legs a bit, "Yeah, I think so." It had been longer than a year since he'd even ridden a runner beast. His legs throbbed, but he was able to walk without falling down now. He nodded and he turned to both Chaeren and Yersith. "It was fun, thank you." He grinned and nodded his head, "Yeah." He paused, "Well, I'm sure their looking for me. Till we meet again, I bid you farwell." With a beaming smile on his face he turned and jogged towards the Dining Hall. Two masses of Bronza and Brown joined him chirping at displeasure about his long absense and how they were both terribly hungry.

Chaeren waved goodbye to her young friend, leaning against her dragon and taking comfort in her solid warmth. 'He's a nice kid. A trouble maker I can tell, but at heart he's good.' Chaeren said to her dragon as she waved goodbye one last time. 'I agree. He will make a good rider some day.' she said in agreement with her life partner.
The sight of Talons firelizards reminded her of her own that were probably hungry right now as well. taking comfort in her solid warmth. 'Oh man, they'll tear the room apart if they're hungry and there's no food around! Lets go Yersith!' Chaeren exclaimed, mounting up quickly as she thought that. Yersith snorted her amusement but launched herself into the air as soon as her rider was settled anyways. When she landed on the ledge and Chaeren quickly ran inside to do damage control after taking the riding gear off of her dragon, Yersith remained outside. Even at night the temperature was warm and pleasant. Not so hot as it was at midday, but just right, even without the sun. Yersith liked it here, and hoped to remain here for a long time.

rimedragona Quote: Orana nodded To the weyr bowl then?" Orana said smiling she stetched her arms and began to walk beside her friend. Ithean staired back at Trith and circled above the little green dragon and then landed on Orana's shoulder. Malathan peered at the green curiously and chirped Trith made a small warbling sound in response, seemingly pleased, and then moved to follow Remia when she started towards the bowl. It wasn't long before they were in the great open area of the caldera, just in time to see someone arriving dragonback. Remia looked over at Orana as they walked. "Can you tell who it is? Are they from the Weyr? I can't make anything out from this distance." She wondered who would be arriving so early, but she needed to get her dragonet bathed and oiled before breakfast, or she'd be late to classes. Orana follwed and shook her head "I cant tell I have not seen her round before." Orana thought about this. "Perhaps she is a new trasfer." she muttered aloud, Orana smiled "What fist?" she asked Remia (Sorry for the short post)

Chaeren stood on the ledge of her weyr and stretched as she yawned widely. She let her arms drop to her side as she looked out at the morning sun, shining with a bright intentsity that warmed the land, and the rider. The weyrsinger ran one hand through her long black hair, making a face at the distinct unwashed feel and smell. 'Blech. I need a bath...' the woman thought to herself with a frown. 'Then come bathe with me, for I too need a bath.' Yersith said to her rider as she strode out onto the ledge and stood beside Chaeren.
On closer inspection, Chaeren found that her mount was indeed dusty. 'Alright, alright love. Just let me get the little ones and my bag of bathing things.' she replied and returned to her part of the weyr. Moments later she returned with a small leather bag on one shoulder, and her fair of flits flying about her excitedly. With the help of her dragon, the woman mounted up and rode yersith down into the bowl bareback. The dragon decided not to bother landing on the ground, so instead performed a graceful landing in the warm water of the lake. As they had flown past it at a low altitude, Chaeren had managed to dump her bag rather unceremoniously at the edge of the water, where it had rolled a few times before coming to a stop in the warm sand. The rider now looked around from her dragons back in the water and rolled her eyes in Yersiths direction for such silliness. Yersith only ignored her though and submerged herself so that her rider was unceremoniously dumped off her back and into the water. Chaeren resurfaced, spluttering as she tread water, wearing only a thin white shift as dragon washing attire. Being a dragon rider for the past two years had cured her of the majority of the reserved she had about nudity around others, but the little bit of the harper bred Chaeren still remained and demanded she wear at least something when swimming the the lake in the weyr. "Yersith!" she called out in mock anger at her dragon. "Did you really have to dump me like that?!" she demanded before laughing to show she was only joking. 'Yes, you were being to slow. Now go get your things and wash me please.' the green said, eyes whirling with amusment. Chaeren chuckled and began to swim back to shore to get the equipment she would need.

Dalron smiled and nodded to the two he had been talking with. "Thank you, your dragon is lovely by the way." He smiled warmly at the dragonet then turned with another nod to them. Maybe he'd be able to find someone who knew in the Hall or the kitchens. Now he just needed to find them! He walked across the bowl steering clear of dragon's as they landed with their passengers and the busy people milling about. He headed to where most of the people were coming and going. It was early so he hoped that was where breakfast would be.

A tall youth had been wandering aimlessly about the Weyr Bowl as Yersith performed her stunt with her rider. The boy snorted at the crazy dragon's antic. Stupid greens. This one wasn't even bright enough to land on the shore and let her rider off first. Surely she could think of that? He shrugged in response to his own thoughts. Well, greens definately weren't the brightest of the bunch. Not at all like bronzes.
Kaledan made his way to the lake, unable to resist the urge to see what poor soul had Impressed such a stupid dragon. Well, they said, like rider, like dragon. So, perhaps the person was just as stupid. Just what the Weyr need, a stupid dragon and her stupid rider.
As the boy drew closer, he noticed that the rider was female. And wearing almost nothing. Which didn't bother him. He'd seen worse his whole life. Nothing like seeing an old, heavy man naked to make you immune to just about everyone else. Even as he hit puberty.
Then Kaledan noticed that this was the greenrider with the slew of newly hatched flits that he had met recently. The new Weyrsinger. He noticed that her cleaning things were sitting on the beach not too far from him. He grabbed them and, kicking off his sandals, he stripped down to shorts, wading out towards the woman. He could use a bath and perhaps this fairly nice woman would let him help her wash her dragon. Even if it was a stupid one.

As Chaeren made for the shore, she noticed a boy there, who then stooped and grabbed her things and began to make his way out to her. She met him halfway and smiled when she saw that it was Kaledan and said "Ah, good morning Kaledan." the woman said as she tread water. "Good to see you again, and thanks for bringing me my things." she said taking them from him, glad that he had left the bag on the shore. She had dropped them there because the bag was one that she would rather not get wet. At that moment, said slew of firelizards descended from the sky and dove into the water all around the two humans and green dragon. They resurfaced, chirping happily and splashing merrily about. Chaeren could help but smile as she swam back to her dragon who was now floating serenely on the surface of the water, watching the flits, clearly amused by their antics. The rider woman climbed up onto Yersiths back, sorting through her things that she would need to get her job done. As she located what she needed, she started her work. At the same time, she asked Kaledan "So, what brings you out here so early?"
((edit: oh yeah, just an note but i was mistaken about the Weyrsinger thing. I asked Kolina and she said they're reserving that position to give away or something and as of yet it's still a npc roll 3nodding ))

The boy nodded as he met with Chaeren. "'Morning." He shrugged as she thanked him. He ducked, reflexively, as the fair of firelizards dove into the water all around him and the others. He swam after the greenrider, nodding a greeting to Yersith.
In response to the greenrider's question, the boy shrugged. "Was up." He glanced at the dragon for a moment, before finally just blurting out. "Can I help?" He would've fidgeted if it weren't for the fact that he was in the water and his efforts were at keeping his head above the water.

((hey niki, looks like Chaeren and P'las are in the same wing! you should maybe bring him in too?))
Chaeren blinked in surprise as the boy asked to help her clean her dragon. "Sure, why not?" she said aloud, and smiled. Mentally though she asked her dragon 'You don't mind, do you love?'
Yersith hesitated before replying 'I like it best when you bath me, mine...and I do not think this boy thinks well of greens.' she said, looking in Kaladen's direction and snorting lightly.
'Perhaps, but maybe you can show him just how good greens are? Besides, the faster this gets done, the sooner you can go lay in the sun.' she said, patting her dragons head comfortingly.
Yersith gave a mental sigh before finally replying. 'Very well mine, I will give it a chance. If he is rude though, I will dunk him in the water'
Chaeren just chuckled to herself before turning back to Kaledan. "Alright, come on up." she said, patting Yersiths back.

((Eh, sorry for the long delay... been working on P'las's weyr. ^.^ I may bring him in after a bit...))
Kaledan seemed a bit relieved that Chaeren was going to let him help. He blinked as the green's head turned to look at him and snorted softly. Apparently, the two were having a conversation. About him? Eh, who knew?
The boy scrambled up the green, carefully stepping gingerly, almost as if he were afraid to hurt Yersith. Somehow he managed to eventually get up the green's side, wet as he was and unexperienced. Hopefully, that would change. The unexperienced part, at least.

((I'ts okay, i just play ps2 while i wait xd and you'll have to excuse me, i'm not quite sure exactly how the riders clean their dragons, so you'll have to forgive me for any mistakes.))
"Okay, here." The green rider said, tossing Kaledan a scrubbing brush to clean the green with. "Now then, just scrub her throroughly with one of these, though not to hard as to hurt her." the woman explained before demonstrating with smoot sweeps of her wet brush, removing dirt and grime as she went. "You'll need to splash water on her every-so-often as you go so it won't just dry back on. And start from top to bottom." she said and started working on the front half of the dragon, who's eyes were whirling happily at being cleaned. The two blue flits, Eori and Ciel, perched on Yersiths head, chirping and watching the two humans curiously while the rest played in the water..
