Pili was startled out of her fasination with her toes.
"Yea..." she said softly, not really to anyone. At the mention of the chain mail she said,
"Oh, I can't really wear that. This cotton alone is hurting me, that might just kill me!" She smiled and pulled on her shirt, trying to get it to fit more comfortably with no avail.
"I don't supose you know of any place that might accomidate my wings?" When ever she refered to her wings, she would inadvertantly flap them. A tearing sound erupted from her back and her shirt floped down. She rolled her eyes,
"Not again! Well, I supose this is what scales are for!" she said, referring to the convient location of the thickest patch. She took the shredded peice of fabric off and stuffed it into one of her pockets.
"Sorry if this makes you uncomfortable..." she didn't understand why she couldn't just walk around like this, her scales covered everything up rather nicely.

-From ontop of a small hill Skywize slowly notices a town, as he nods a bit.- "Finally I might have found something from all this venturing." -Unaware of his exhaustion he falls to the ground with his right leg still caught up in Quazo's saddle. The lizard quickly stops, as Skywize's body is hurled several hundred feet from the lizard. Skywize lays there motionless, as the lizard begins to walk away.-

((I'm sorry this took so long. I'll try and check more often.))

The sudden touch. Somewhere in the deep recesses of her mind Astraea registered the smallest ounce of fear. Here she was, temporarily (at least, this was her hope) blinded, in the midst on one exceedingly irritated mortal, to whom she had proved a tad disagreeable as of recent. Why was it that the most rational feeling was usually the weakest within her? Yes, the emotion that had jumped into her conscience had been great amusement at the irony of the situation. In fact, she could feel the very skin of her cheeks tightening and her already slitty eyes squint further: tell tale signs of a smirk.

"Top of the mornin'," she said good-naturedly, adopting a very harsh mortal accent. The words sounded chunky and out of place (since Astraea usually spoke with the fliud silkiness of the elven language when forced to use human words), but then again, the human language was such. "Have a nice trip? I knew I wasn't going to see you before fall." Her provokations brought a deeper set smile to her face. That, and the utter horrible humor of these puns.

"Why don't you just have your wings out all the time? I don't see why you should have to have them covered up all the time. But uh... Yeah, you might still want to wear something that covers up your chest." Devasad finished, looking more intently at his toes.

"There's a tailor's down the road, who might be able to help you out. I think her name is Nera, or something close to that. I hear she's quite a popular choice for customised clothing. I'm sure she'll have no problem with accommodating your wings." Looking up from his toes in the water, he quickly scanned the square. "You.. uh.. might want to head there sharpish. I can see a few scandalised looks from some of the populace here. I might just head back to Sapphire River now." Trying to remember, he looked at the woman next to him. "You're at Sapphire Springs right? If you want, I can hang about and give you a ride down there?"

Cyrith grabbed his weapons at the stupid puns, and gritted his teeth. It would be so easy right now. Just a quick lunge, and she would be silenced for good. But why was it so difficult to do? So, he just settled for something else.

Slamming the blades on both sides of her head, less than an inch from the skin, he leaned down close. Then, in as sinister a voice as he could muster, he whispered to her. "Do me a favor. Shake your head no. Please? For me?"

"Though my father is human, I cannot understand why your race and others are so insistat upon covering your bodies. Were you not born naked as the earth? And when you die, shall your worthless linens not deteriorate faster than the clothes Mother Earth adorned upon and intended you to wear? As I said, this notion of restraining gramets I understand not," Pili said shaking her head. Nearly everyone was staring at her, and those who were not either could not see her or were trying very hard not to look. "And yes, I think it would be very nice to get a ride from you. I'm a bit tired from the trek here."

Pili made her way to the seamstress, a little plump human woman whose motherly aura radiated from her, touching everyone within eyesight. She caught a glimpse of Pili from her shop window and ran out, grabbing her by the arm. Pili was a good two feet taller than this woman, yet she was being pulled into the seamstresses shop.

"Jus' what da ya think yer doin' out thar? Showin' the world... what would your mama say?" the woman said in a scolding motherly tone.

"She would say that clothes are only for those not intune with Terra," she said smartly.

"Ah, so 'twas your mama the dragon! Explains alot! Now, my dear, jus' let me take some messurements..." a tape measure appeared in her hands and she quickly too Pili's specs. "Don't you worry, my dear, Nera will make you somethin' nice." She grabbed some lite green material and shoed Pili out of her room. Thrity minutes later the woman returned with the finished work. It was a curouse gramet, a string for holding it around one's neck and another for holding it around the back. The strings were golden and sparkled in the day light. The front was fairly simple. Nera showed Pili how to arange the shirt and Pili paid the woman.

"Thank you!" she said smiling, "This is much better, I can flap my wings and the material is so thin, I don't feel it!"

"But ya are covered!"Nera reminded her. Pili left the little shop and return to her new found friend.

Aria went back to her home town at Sapphire Springs. " Hello. Mum, sis?", she shouted, but no one replied. When she took a good look at the village, all was left was the remains. " Where are all the elves? Mum, sis, anyone?" no one replied. " What happened here?"

-After lying on the ground for days. Skywize slowly rises to his feet, as he looks around. He slowly slides his hand to his head, as he holds onto it.- "I must continue." -Feeling a bit replenished he reaches for a small bottle heald on his back. He pops the lid off of it and places it to his lips. He tilts it back slightly and the smooth liquid slides into his mouth. He finishes and places the lid back on it. Using his right sleeve he wipes his mouth and continues to the village up ahead.-

Astraea chuckled morbidly at his incites, although careful to keep her head from any lateral movement. Having, a moment previously, shifted her head slightly (as is the tendency of living things to do) and also having felt the sharp, cold metal of a blade, she realized that he was holding at least one weapon to her head. "You, like me, are one for jests, no?" she asked, slowly bringing a searching hand up towards her head. She located a blade and gently pinched it between her index figner and thumb, directing away from her head. "Yet, it seems that you like jokes that are only funny to yourself." Releasing the blade, she dropped her hand and gritted her teeth in anticipation for the snapping point of the mortal (and thus the fatal blow). "Prove me wrong," she goaded, her muscles tensing unconsciouly.

Cyrith pulled the blades out of the ground, then sheathed them after a proper dusting off. "Jokes? Why would I laugh at jokes when I really have nothing to live for? Nothing to care about? My family abandoned me at a young age. The one who took me in died because of me. I have lived a darker life than most thieves. And you think I would laugh at jokes? Stop trying to make me laugh."

Then he did something that no one would have expected of him. He held out his hand, and grabbed hers, pulling her to her feet. "Now. Why are you here? Why did you follow me? And why do you eyes look like they have been seared shut?"

((Erm... what is the joker above me trying to push?))

Relief flooded Astraea. She hadn't been aware of how tense she had grown. Perhaps her instincts weren't so twisted afterall. She nodded her thanks, both for the hand up and for the decision to spare her life.

"Come now, nothing to care about? Life itself is precious, whether or not others choose to treat your existence as such. You've just been in the wrong places at the wrong time, kid." She assumed that it was likely he was not learned in her bloodlines, and he wouldn't know if the term 'kid' was properly used. She herself wasn't even sure if 'kid' had been used correctly, since he could very well be her elder, but then again, all elves were supposed to be as ancient as the trees and wiser than friggin' owls. What kind of elf would she make if she couldn't even present herself as clear-headed and old?

Deciding it best to stray from such a touchy topic, she returned to his last statement that had caused her some worry. "Seared shut?" she wondered aloud, bringing her hand up to her face to examine the after-math of that blasted scuttle. Indeed, the skin beneath her fingers registered as burnt, scabbing, and misshapen.

"This won't do," she murmured, and reached down to her waist, where survival tools were kept neat and organized in a treated leather pouch. She retreived a small knife that she used when gutting rodents and held it lightly in her hand. Looking to the mortal (or at least directing her head to where she imagined him to be), she grinned wickedly and said, "You were very tempted to kill me before. Would it satisfy you to cut the lids of my eyes open? I'll try and answer your other questions after, but right now, I'd like to be able to see."

((I don't know. But they're not only didn't read the rules, but they ain't that great an rper, if you judge them by the complexity and thoroughness of the prof))

Cyrith accepted the knife, and nodded before he realized that she couldn't see that. "Alright, I will. But two conditions. Stop calling me kid. While growing up with the Elves, I was looked and treated as an equal. I wish the same from you. You do that, and I won't start calling you old and decrepit. Fair?

"And the second condition. Please stop making horrible jokes. Yes, I wanted to stab you, but because you followed me, and you make some horrible jokes. I only have so much tolerance for that kind of thing. And while I'm holding the knife to your head, you wouldn't want my hand to slip, now would you?" That one word emphasized like you hear the Mafia emphasize "protection."

Aria went to Pili's house for some company. Moon flew over the forest and she spotted PIli's house. They landed." Pili, are you home?" she called out.

(For race... she put "white" <.<;; )

Astraea chuckled sheepishly, shrugging her shoulders. "Not everyone can have a natural knack for humor. I try where I may, but I guess my effot goes unappreciated. Very well, if my jokes pain you so, I will attempt to keep from cracking them."

Kneeling down, having decided that it would be better to be closer to the ground for support, Astraea nodded that she was ready. Her heart pounded as she anticipated the knife drawing nearer... nearer... "Wait, wait, wait!" she said suddenly, holding one hand protectively out in front of her. "Here. As a token of good faith--well, you're the one with the knife to my head, but I digress--take this." With slight urgency, she handed him a leathery, sallowed scroll, watching it transfer from her hands with some reluctancy.

"It's coded, riddled instructions on the Emerald Fire. Without it, I cannot attain my goal. And, since I know the ancient language better than you--I'd assume--the code would be easier for me to crack and stealing it wouldn't help you so much. This puts us at an impass, yes? A fail safe: something that we know will force the other to uphold the unspoken vows of one elf to another." She wished she could see his face. Reading expressions proved much more useful than listening to (most likely) deceiving words.
