if so:
he'd sing crazy, crazy rainbow star all day and
all night.
and we all know how bad luffy's singing is. xd
what if oda had a character to represent himself and that
character joins the mugiwara crew?

Vega punk is actually a character yet to be seen in One Piece, but from whats been told he's a genius scientist who works for the government^^
As for your "what if" then he'd probably have eaten the Ink Ink Fruit
What if One Piece characters acted out Phantom of the Opera, with Luffy as the Phantom?

well...
what if no.1:
what if luffy's room was made of sponge?
my answer: it would soak up all the water from the room
protecting luffy from the sea...or in the same effect,
acting as a form of sea (like sea stone), and trapping him
from his devil fruit powers.
what if no.2:
what if luffy was made of sponge, not rubber?
my answer: he'd be mizu luffy. lol.

Then Nami's ship would be made of either strong bills of money or gold, Sanji'd have a harem, Zoro's crew be drunk, and Luffy's would be obsessed with food XD
What if some one gave Luffy the talk, and he misinterpreted it for yaoi? (OMG!!! *faints*)
