Suddenly you all hear voices coming from beyond the door:

Voice 1: "So where are we again?"
Voice 2: "I already told you, this is my home."
Silence
Voice 1: "But what-"
Voice 2: "I said be quiet!"
Loud smacking noise
Voice 1: "That hurt, you didn't have to-!"
Loud smacking noise
Voice 2: "Shut up! Hmmm, a door, maybe this is the way out..."
Voice 1: "I thought you said this was-!?"
Loud smacking noise
Voice 2: "Well, let's find out..."
It gets quiet, but you think you can make out strange words
That's when the door blows up in a hail of smoke & splinters, a bolt of lightning coming from it, slamming into the back wall.
Voice 1: "Why didn't you just open the door?"
Voice 2: "..."
Loud smacking noise
As the debris clears you can make out two people. The first looks about 6 1/2 ft. tall. He is swathed in black robes & a cloak hanging down by his feet, the hood covering his face until right above his eyes, casting most of his face in shadow, he has a black quarterstaff that appears to be made of a stone behind his back, seeming as if it is just floating there. He has a bit of white hair poking out from the hood & tan skin. He appears to be human. The other is a halfling ((my friend plays him, & he's not here right now, so I'll have to give you a description later))

In response to the door's malicious verbal attacks, Darastrixen cannot help but get very, very angry. He manages to hold onto his tongue just long enough to hear the thing tell them of their fate before he explodes.

Fool! You bring us here to pay for our crimes, making note of murders. Yet you offer redemption if we can but kill even more!? You call yourself just!!?

Those that had heard Darastrixen's demands originally are shocked to note that the voice has moved a significant distance without drawing their attention at all. Darastrixen, however, is only fed up with matters at hand. He feels a burning sensation in the back of his throat, and his blood ignites within him.

Patience, I cannot play my cards too soon. Much as though I would love to burn that door to the hells.

Well, thank you, most of you, for your most prompt replies. As you are now quite aware, I am not the one who summoned you here. I am just as infuriorated as you all, and have a severe urge to...burn things right now. For the sake of my survival though,

Darastrixen snorts loudly, obviously resentful of the situtation, and perhaps of the concept of working with other races, though they would not realize this.

It seems as though I am going to have to trust you, but only so far. My identity will remain a secret until such time that I can recognize your full intentions. Now, that having been said, for now you may think of me as a mage, though in no way as physically inept and pasty-faced. For your own safety, I shall grant you all the benefit of my protection, that you will not be harmed by my unique methods. Do not be alarmed.

Darastrixen walks to each in turn and will use the invocation "endure exposure" on them all. He explains that this spell is intended to protect them from certain atmosphereic extremes, but that it will also shield them from his "magic." When he is finished, he returns to an object of his attention when he had first arrived. That is to say, the objects under the three beds.

Why are there even beds in here?

((hello to you all, I have returned from my trip. Sorry to have not been here to reply so far. In any case, that is a search check of 5+5=10))

"you there, the one flying around, you seem to be in charge of this......gathering.....what are you doing in my home?"

these people might actually know the way out of this dam place.....I should give them the gifts......
With that he pulls a pinch of some powdery substance out of a pouch and seems to mouth some words, as if preparing himself to say somthing.....

"He is not in charge here, however much he may be talking. I believe that none of us know what we are doing here. Besides you, of course."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 13, 2007 9:49 pm

"Do not assume that this kobald is in charge here." The True Necromancer responded. "I follow no one but Nerull and even then it is not so much to follow him as to follow his teachings." His tone was none to gentle, the mere though of being lead by a kobald enough to sicken him. The filthy creatures weren't much good in life, and even worth less in death. Being lead by such a thing was something he would really, REALLY, be annoyed by.
"As for why we are here, from what we have been told we are here to be punished for our crimes." he continued, bringing his tone down a peg or two. "And if that is true, and if this is your home as you say, then by simple logic you must either be another person held against your will, or perhaps you are our jail keeper...."

((Okay, I can't help but point this out to you Darastrixen. Count your party members, than add the fact that this is the only safe room. That might answer one of your questions))

Under the beds are chests. Iron bound, reinforced, &...locked.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 14, 2007 2:14 am

Hmm. A kobold you are? Always with the darting and the dodging they are, they are never having the manners to die easily! Well, I suppose the increasing of the party is for the better. And, haha! Perhaps you will surprise me, small kobold! And I am supposing these two new arrivals will be wanting to join and assist with the escaping, yes? Very well! Now, we must march! Hopefully on the organs of our captor, eh?

Hale lets out a deep booming laugh, still remarkably unfazed by the exploded door.

((*cough*, I am sorry for not making this obvious before, but the "kobald" is invisible, and can remain so for as long as he so pleases. This was the only reason that he did not use his breath weapon earlier, as it would reveal him to be a kobald. Unless someone wants to spend a see invisability on him, there really should not have been any identification stare However, since it's rather hard to undo three posts, I suppose I can think of something to un-invis him quickly, and assume that it had happened beforehand...))

Darastrixen takes out a dagger and stabs into one of the metal chests a couple of times, more to test its composition than anything else.

Hmm, very good, reinforced with iron, quite plainly locked, yes, this is descent handiwork for an amature.

Darastrixen gets up from on the floor. He'd have to "examine" these chests more thouroghly later. However, burning off the locks would surely spoil his surprise. It is only when Hale makes his blatent comment that Darastrixen realizes the foolhardy descision he has just made, and what a fool he must look even now. A kobald, etched with green scales, and hovering in midair with no effort whatsoever.

Darastrixen roars with fury, hearing the resentment that is so obvious in the Necromancer's tone, and in Hale's words. He breathes deeply, and before any know what is happening, crison flames leap from his mouth and engulf those below. Although quite dramatic, the recipiants of his attack are puzzled to learn that the flame has no adverse effect upon them. Instead, it seemed to ignore them altogether. Darastrixen snorts, a pillar of flame ensuing from his nostils.

Yes, it's true, I am a kobald. But not just any kobald. I am Darastrixen, dragonwrought kobald, all watcher of my tribe, and you would be foolish to underestimate my power. Remember, it is only by my good graces that you remain unharmed by my breath, and I am often a fickle humanoid.

As for you then,

Darastrixen points a clawed finger at the new arrival

It must be apparent to you that somehow they reject me now that they see me for what I am. I must agree with their assertion though. If this is your house, you must be the one who brought us here, or you know the way out. Which is it!? If you plan to be sheltering yourself in our large numbers, then you must be able to be of asssistance. One of you is a mage, for all that flashy lightning, but the other? Come on now, I haven't got all day. Oh, and do step inside. This room supposedly wassafe, but with you two standing just outside it like live bait, it may not be so for long.

((True seeing perma, sorry but I wasn't going to tell you guys until later, and I thought that they would know that I was the mage here.))
hmm....this one could cuase some problems

"I am not here to show you the way out of MY house, you got yourself into some argument with a guest of mine, I have no place in this argument, I am a Mage(almost spitting out the words) and it would be wise that YOU do not raise your voice to ME, as such, you seem to be the most intellegent one in the gathering, besides maybe the.....priest......over there, and you should know why he brought you here. As for my house, I have some rings here that would alow you to communicate with me no matter where you are in it, it might help you a bit."

hmm...and I thought I might get some intellagence out of this group....

Roberts fist clentched when he heard the mage refer to the fake dragon vermin as the most intellegent one in the group. How dared he?! He had to mile over spellbooks, study ancient lore of magic and religion, and learn complicated gestures and words of arcane power! That thing at best couldn't match his intelligence. His kind were only good to learn inate abilties like sorcerers, or awaken thier dragonic heratage or demonic heratage if they had it, like warlocks or what this creature was. None of it had to do with intellegence! None of it!
The the words that came after that actually made his calm down a bit, letting his hand uncletch as he heard the mage actually hint that he was more intellegent than the lizard. But putting aside the his feelings of hatred towards the dragon wanta be, Robert thought it would be wise for him to add a few words of his own, in hopes to try and smooth over what the lizard had spatted.
"I must apologies of the L-... Kobalds rudness." Robert began, bowing slightly towards the mage.
"It seems that our little friend here doesn't have any manners. Now..." Robert straightened, bringing his hand up to the pipe the rested between lis lips. "As for the rings that you so generously offer us... Would you mind if I see them for a moment? As I'm sure, most of the gathered part here has had enough of a problem dealing with magical items of the glove variety and would most likely like to know just what these rings do before we don them." Then he added. "Just to put thier minds, as well as my own, at ease of course. I am not suggesting these rings are a trap, because that would be insulting our most generous host. Its simply a percaution. You know, better to be safe than sorry."

"Do you all make it a habit to speak as much as possible?" Donirox mumbles just loud enough for them to hear.

Seems to look a little more relaxed
This one isn't a fool....interesting.....

"hm...yes you can....although I don't really get what you meen by the gloves, they're very polite...."

seems to think about tossing the rings over then changes his mind.

"you seem a little to intellagent to be only a preist....maybe you're something more?"

from the interest in the rings most likely wizard.....I'll have to watch that one....

With that he mutters a few words and orders what seems like air to hold the rings out in front of the priest for a few second then coem back to him.
