"You bet. Watch out... he's a character," Mephistophiles warned.
"Was ist passiert?" Doktor Faust asked, bending down to the person he had no idea was his descendant. "Ist er krank? Oder schlaft?"
Faust VIII woke up, and the first thing he saw was his great-to-the-eighth-degree grandfather staring down at him. He scrambled backwards in unadulterated terror.

"I know!" Faust said. "It's like looking in a mirror... mein Gott..." Doktor Faust's eyes flashed in recognition when he spoke German. "He doesn't know, though... Mein Herr, koennen Sie Englisch?" Doktor Faust shook his head.
"Aber, du kommst aus Deutschland..." Doktor Faust pointed out.
"Ja, ich komme... meine Freunden sind aus Japan."
On hearing this, Doktor Faust started to laugh. "Japan? Grippst du nicht mein Beine! Japan ist nicht ein Land!"

"And, incidentally, it's all he speaks, that and Latin, which is about right for this time period if we are indeed in the 1500's. He doesn't believe that Japan is a real country; he thinks it's just a myth. He wants us to stop 'pulling his leg."

"ok, well reguardless...we need to find a way to get home! the last thing i need is to be married off to some farm boy, which is very likely for this time period.."(they got married at like age 14 then right?)

Ja, vielleicht, ein bißchen, aber so jung!" Faust said, laughing nervously. Translating, he said, "He thinks you're pretty, Netsubo."
