Fiasco watches her laugh in amusement. "The answer to that question depends a great deal on how well I'm doing." The teasing in her voice not escaping his atention. "If I may be so bold as to make a sugestion, smiling is far more becoming of you than this mask you wear now." he says without a hint of incincerity in his voice.

Khyn's face turned serious.
"You presume much and know nothing. Why would you think I wear a mask?"
She shook her head slightly, as if in irritation and turned to glance in the window beside her. She stared into the eyes of her reflection a moment before looking back at the boy.

Fiasco smiles at her iratation "Guilty on both counts." he pauses breifly, and sudenly his mirth evaporates. He replaces his smile with a dry, stoic expression. "Sometimes," he says evenly "You must hide your true nature to throw people off. People don't look at this face" he points to himself, "and expect you to accidentally cover your teachers desk in liquid nitrogen. And," he begins to conclude, while smiling yet again " I think your trying to fool me, or people, or possibly even you." He stops for a moment. "But, I'm no phsycologist. And once again I've continued on a rant that naturally causes me to assume even more. And you know what they say happens when you assume right?" He looks at Khyn expectantly with eybrows raised.

He really is a thug, Khyntari thought to herself. And one who talked a lot, that was for sure. She didn't answer him, merely crossed her arms over her chest and stared towards the front of the bus. Was she that transparent that a complete stranger knew she was hiding. She closed her eyes. Maybe he would take the hint and leave her alone so she could keep up her act. This strange boy seemed to like to dig at people and see what made them tick. And she really didn't want to be dissected like that.

Getting no response other than silence, Fiasco opted to finish the thought "It makes an a** out of Uma Thurman."

They rode in silence for a few minutes, Khyn ignoring the boy, and the boy being polite enough to return the favor. A soft tone in her backpack told that she had a new text message. She read it and then sat there, key tones chiming her reply. Once that was sent, she glanced discreetly back to Fiasco a moment before then reaching up to press the bell pole near her window. The bus slowed down and she stood up. She moved out of her seat, slinging her pack over her shoulder. As she walked out the back door, pack bouncing on her shoulder, she didn't take notice of the school id card that fell out of the side pocket and quietly landed on the bus steps.
Khyn rubbed her arms in the chill night air as the bus sputtered to a start and moved off down the road. She hastily walked down the few blocks of her neighborhood and toward her home.

Fiasco watched her get up after signaling her stop. "Farewell Khyn. Until we meet again." He says politely while bowing his head slightly. He begins to watch her go, but then errs on the side of caution and turns away. He waits calmly as the bus lurches into motion again. Not a bad day, he tells himself. All in all. Pity he didn't bring a book. It's a long ride back to his car. The bus comes to halt after his own signaling. He stands to leave, but then notices the dropped card, and of course, curiosity got the better of him. Stooping to pick it up, he recognizes the face of the girl instantly. "What interesting luck you have Mr. Fiasco." He says to no one imparticular.

When Khyn got home, her Mom had a plate of dinner ready for her. She grabbed it, looking over the sushi rolls and salad as she made her way up to her room. She put the food down on her bedside table, tossed her backpack on her desk and turned her stereo on. She popped a roll into her mouth and stripped out of her track uniform. Grabbing her towel, she went into the connected bathroom and jumped in the shower.
An hour later, she was in pajama shorts and t-shirt. She sat at her desk, slowly finishing her dinner as she stared out her bedroom window. She knew she should be getting to bed since it was almost 10pm, and yet she wasn't all that tired. She was feeling homesick for her old home and old friends. She dreaded the next day where she'd have to go back to the "New Life" and "New School". Damn she hated how powerless she was.
The next morning came too quickly. Khyn found herself looking out the window as her English Lit teacher droned on. She stared at the track field, memories flashing through her mind.

She loves the past, and is fascinated by different events of the wars. She is Japanese, Russian, German, and Romanian. She wears glasses and can't stand the thought of contacts. Nekomi sat inside the library, waiting for class to start, she kicked the edge of the table idly, bored with nothing to do. She kicked it too hard and cursed under her breath. "Soku... " Yawning, she took out her drawing book and began to randomly doodle to pass the time. She watched others file into the library, single file. She drew dragons and random cats and dogs, her sketches becoming more out of the ordinary. Growing bored with it, she stashed away for Sketchbook and walked out of the library into the clustered halls. Trying to avoid peoples gazes, she shifted to a wall, and watched the other students chatter and gossip about "who kissed who" and things they did over the weekend. She wished softly to herself some of them would burn.

Fiasco gets off the bus and limps to the parking lot where his car awaits. He heads home to get what little sleep he can before school tomorrow. He pulls into his driveway after a rather uneventful car ride to find all the lights still on. Opening the door to to his mother yelling something to his father about how putting duct tape on the chimeny isn't fixing it.
"Daren?" his dad asks from the kitchen. "Officer Donnigan called for you about an hour ago. Your not getting into more trouble are you?"
Fiasco can only smile as he responds "It's not what you think. I witnessed some vandalization. It wasn't me." He begins to walk up the stairs to his room.
"No." his father continues. "I know your not. He said he'll talk to you at school tomorrow." He walks out of the kitchen to look at his son limping up the stairs. "I take it you did something about the disturbance?"
"Yeah. Hurt one of them pretty badly. I'm not finished with them though. It was a pretty diner that they destroyed. I'll be late coming home tomorrow, I'm going to help clean up that very same diner. I'll see you in the morning." Fiasco concludes as he reachs the height of the stairs.
"Try not to worry your mother." Fiasco hears as he closes the door to his bedroom.
Fiasco's alarm clock goes off a little earlier than normal the next morning. He hops into the shower and dresses. A little breakfast and he's on his way. He drives past the destroyed diner, looking at the broken glass of the windows, and the broken spirits of the owners. Time enough for that later. Without a long bus ride all across town, he makes it to school with time to spare. He walks to his first class, brushing past people in the hallway, waving to those that call his name or wish him good morning.

Nekomi looked around her surroundings, letting a tired yawn escape her lips. She deicded she'd head over to her first class, Math. She dreaded that class and usually doodled on the papers instead of doing the actual work, but at the same time she payed attention to what the teacher was saying incase of a pop quiz. She let herself slide off the wall and into the classroom, taking a seat in the back where no one would pay attention her. She liked it better that way. She pulled out her textbook and notebook and started to quickly do her homework before class started.

Khyn's 3rd period class was a study session and she spent her time in the library. She had set up a wall of books in front of herself on the desk and had notebooks and text books sprawled out before her. There was about 10 minutes left of 3rd period so she started taking care of the notebooks and her pens and highlighters. Winter finals were coming up in a few more weeks, and the change in schools was difficult. The classes were easy for her, but she still had had to learn different things. Plus she didn't like to fail, so she studied a lot. Getting a "B" is like coming in 2nd place.. only winners get anywhere in life!
She stood up and grabbed her backpack, plus several books that she'd be borrowing to take home to study. She went to the librarian's desk and started the checking-out process. The librarian looked at her expectantly and asked for her school ID card to finish. Khyn searched through her backpack pockets. With a puzzled frown she searched the pockets in her school uniform, and then her backpack again.
"No, no where is it?! It was here yesterday!" Khyn looked at the librarian, embarrassed.
"You'll have to either find your card or get a new one. I can hold these books until end of school today," she was told by the librarian. Angrily, Khyn turned around and left. She walked down the hallway towards the office to obtain a new ID card.
