"I don't do the true love thing," Malik responded. "It seems to...impossible to me. See, my mom left right after I was born. She said I was to fussy to handle. She hated me, actually. She wanted to stop after my big sister. My dad had loved her unconditionally, but after she left...he changed." Why am I telling this to a complete stranger? Why do I think he'd care? Malik sighed. He hated emotions.

"So you're mom couldn't handle two kids, and your dad was so devastated by her leaving that he became abusive? Am I on the right track so far or am I guessing too much?" Kura asked carefully, looking for the best way to get to Malik's balcony without killing himself.

"That's about the gist of it, yeah." Malik said, running his hand through his hair. He's on the right track anyway, but he's missed the most important stuff... Malik shivered, which he tried to blame on the sudden draft of wind even though he knew that wasn't it, and wrapped his arms around himself. That's my secret that I'll take with me to the grave. Even if I do fall in love, I won't tell. He peered down over the balcony. "What are you doing?"

"Finding the best way," Kura began, jumping up and grabbing onto the bottom of the balcony. "to get up to your landing, without interacting with the ground. Help me up please?" He smiled innocently, making a cute face.

Malik laughed, a little bit giddy at his new friend's near-death predicament. He leaned over the balcony, placing his feet between the rungs in order to hang on, and leaned over to grab the other boy's hands and haul him over. "Do the words stairs mean anything to you?"

"Yes, but I find them a very boring and simple challenge, no fun, and beside, I would've had to stop talking to you," he replied, grabbing hold of the tanned one's hands.

Atemu blinked, watched Ryou grab his keys and then leave. He snorted. "Oh! Sure! Let's forget about poor Atemu!" He pouted and walked out of the white haired boys room. "Least he could have done was said good-bye." Atemu muttered as he unlocked his door and wandered inside. His stuff was nearly unpacked, about 3 boxes in the cornor of his room. Everything was a blue color and he only had a few things hanging on his walls. Like the great pyramids, those were up. His bed was average, nothing interesting here. Kind of like Atemu...average, nothing iteresting...On the outside, that is.

"True, and if you let me shut-up I might never talk again." Malik pulled back, hoisting him up and over the railing. He may have been thin, but everything on him as solid muscle, so he was a lot stronger than he looked. "So," he grinned, "what were we talking about?"

"We were talking about your family life, but that seemed a little too sensitive a subject, so let's change it, O Tense One," Kura replied, laughing as he lightly rubbed Malik's shoulders. "Wired as can be, again."

His plum eyes blinked, and he looked out his window. It was still raining and Atemu could see blurry figures. He saw one hoist another male on his balcony. His eyebrows furrowed, but he realized that his hair was starting to droop, so he walked back into his room and shut the window. He could still hear faint voices, but he ignored them and walked over to his boxes. He ripped one open and started taking things out. they were mostly pictures of his family and friends. He placed them on the desk by his bed and continued unpacking in a calm silence.

"I told you, I'm always wired. My sister is still convinced I have ADHD." Malik thought for a moment, as best he could through the haze he always got while reciving a shoulder rub, "what else can we talk about anyway? You know about me now, what about you? You have any family?"
