Dani grinned at Scandal's response. Although she had a wonderful relationship with her father, her mother was different all together, It thrilled her to help stick it to Scandal's father.
"I hear their dances are freaky fun. And you know I love to dance."
Dani looked back to Chris and Cassie.
"Achilles looked fine fighting that dragon or what ever it was. I'm sure he'll be fine. I mean it's been a few months now. I hear Jen and Karen, are even starting a club to get him out of this rut he's in."
She wasn't trying to blow him off in the least, but he was strong and been though worse. At least Pat's alive. Eh's just time displaced, but he's ok.

Well, we can talk about Achilles and get to know Scandal.
*Chris went to Cassie's door and invited the girls inside. Just as this was happening, Mary Batson came down the hall. She stopped dead as she saw Chris Powell invite not one, not two, but three girls into a room. At night. All of them in pajamas.*
Oh...my....GAWD!
*She ran to get her cell phone so she could tell Wallace Wells about this!*

The "interview" with Linda went for a couple of hours, her asking questions and Wally telling her the story of his life. After a while the questions didn't seem very newsworthy, and it was more like the two of them were having an actual conversation instead of being interviewer and interviewee.
Wally wiped some sweat from his forehead.
"Man, it's getting kinda warm, isn't it? How about we finish off by catching dinner somewhere? Do you like Chinese food?"

And by inquiring minds Linda meant herself... She twirled some hair with her fingers and smiled...
" So what is it you look for in a girlfriend..?"
If Kid Flash didn't realize that Linda was flirting with him before then he was sure to realize it now.

"Thank you for joining us, Hartley. Have a seat." Hartley squirmed under the gaze of Headmistress Prince and Counselor Quinnzel.
"Is this about Chemistry? Because my partner finished the assignment..."
"No, Hartley, this is not about your academics. Though that may be a conversation for another time. This is actually something positive."
Yeah, right. Because your shrink and your principal get together and talk about how awesome you are, Hartley thought to himself.
"We have a new student who is enrolling in school now, and we wanted to assign him a peer mentor to help get him introduced to the campus. Doctor Quinzel suggested you." Hartley raised an eyebrow.
"Seriously?"
"Yup!" Doctor Quinzel swung her legs in her seat and swiveled to face Hartley. "It'll be good for both you AND him. He gets someone to show him around campus and teach him the ins and outs of Hero High, and you get to work on your socialization some more!"
Hartley sighed.
"Do I have a choice?"
"Nope!" Doctor Quinzel grinned at him even wider.
"All right, okay." Hartley wondered if he was getting the whole story here. There were tons of other students on campus who would be better to lead a newbie around by the nose. Ms. Prince stood up and beckoned for someone to enter her office.
He was a slim, dark-haired asian looking boy who looked as unhappy to be there as Hartley felt.
"Hartley, this is Amadeus Cho. Amadeus, this is Hartley Rathaway."
Hartley half-waved, feeling awkward.
"Hey." Amadeus looked him up and down and nodded curtly.
"He'll do." Well gee, thanks, Hartley felt like snapping at the newbie, but he bit his tongue while the Doctor was in the room. Diana gave them both her Headmistressy smile.
"I do hope that you and your unique talents will fit in well here at Hero High, Amadeus. Hartley, I hope that you two can help each other have the greatest Hero High experience possible."
The two of them exited the Headmistress's office. Hartley hesitated. So, what exactly did a peer mentor do?
"So. Does this school have any armory? Or munitions storage? How many of the students are armed?"
"Uh...."

Wally spoke without thinking first."The truth is...I think there's something wrong with me. I've had two girlfriends, ever, really. The first one...well, she's crazy. I don't mean, like, 'girl you so crazy' crazy, I mean crazy in the tries-to-break-out-of-prison-to-kill-me-every-now-and-then way. And the last one..." Wally took a deep breath. He should stop right now, really. He hadn't really said this to anyone before."I thought she was the love of my life, and I confessed that to her. I threw away the trust of my closest friend for her. But it turned out that she didn't feel the same way. I was stupid and blind, and she used me as a tool against her boyfriend. I..." Wally looked away."Ever since then I've been trying to convince myself that I'm okay, but truth is I'm not, and -" Finally, Wally's brain caught up with his mouth. This was a reporter that he was giving his deep confession to. This was all going to wind up plastered on the front page of the school newspaper! He slapped his hands over his mouth."Mmmph. I mean, uh, look at the time. We'd better get back to the school..." Before Linda could react, they were running again and they were back at the campus of Hero High. Wally was horribly embarrassed. She probably thought he was a huge douche or a total wuss. Wally stammered a bit."Uh....s-see you later." And he was gone.

*Chris wandered out of the girl's dorm in a daze. Everyone got to know each other and it seemed okay. But he still felt some tension in the room. Scandal was intense, to say the least. That was until Dani suggest they give each other makeovers. He had barely escaped that.
After unlocking his door, Chris tossed the Hero High legends book on his desk. He wanted to find the Logan's lost cabin. But how to find it when others failed? He was sure there were aerial searches done. Maybe there would be clues in Logan's school file.
Hm...this was a problem for tomorrow.*

Linda was in a daze when Kid Flash left her like that. She really had enjoyed the time they spent together and the last question she asked ... it wasn't for the paper, she just really liked him. Linda was stunned by Kid Flash's honesty and understood completely about getting out of a bad relationship. Linda wanted to hug him, to tell him that it would be okay... but Kid Flash left her at her doorstep before she could do any of those things. Linda felt empty... her heart ached... why? It was just a crush right? Then why did her heart ache so much... why did she feel like she was going to cry. It was just a crush.Why did she want their time together to never end? why? It was just a crush. Linda went in her room, she wrote her article about Kid Flash. She didn't talk about the girlfriend thing... or anything to personal. The article was about how Kid Flash got his start, his influence, and his adventures... a personality piece which also described him as laid-back and a nice guy who genuinely cares about other people. Linda paused a moment... she wanted to see Kid Flash again... she had to see him again. She ended the article.
" ...In world where all to often hero's may feel taken for granted, Kid Flash, (if you are reading this) I want you to know I appreciate everything you do. And should, in the crazy world we live in, you need an ally or just a friend, you know where to find me. Kid Flash is truly a hero worthy or recognition."
Linda then e-mailed her article to Clark. Surely not a front page piece, but decent none the less. The lingering feeling, the wanting to see more of him, it washed over Linda like a tidal wave. It was just a crush.. Linda went into the bathroom and took a shower.... yet she thought of being on the beach in Australia with him.. It was just a crush. Linda then went to bed and tossed and turned... thinking of Kid Flash. She woke up and splashed some cold water on her face... It was just a crush... It would be a long night.. if only... if only she could somehow get across to Kid Flash that she was on his side.

Achilles laid back in the stable, alongside Mysia who stood towering over him like a two trunked monolith. She busied herself, stuffing her trunk into the huge bin filled with fruits and shoveling them in her mouth at amost as rapid a rate as Achilles himself eats.
Meanwhile, Achilles busied himself, flipping thru the pages of "the Iiliad", immersed in the historical accounting of his and Patroclus' tale.

*Chris woke up the next morning with a plan. He wiped the dry erase board clear and got dressed. Wouldn't do to have Cassie see what he was up to. Chris sent her a text saying he was busy this morning and he went off to breakfast to get an early meal.
As soon as he walked in, the baseball team mobbed him. Bobby Drake was hooting like an ape.*
THREE!? YOU THE MAN, POWELL!
Huh? Three what?
Chicks, man! Mary Batson saw you go into a room with three babes last night!
Uh, no. Sorry to disappoint but nothing happened. Just talking.
Aw...don't be modest! I can't wait to tell the football team that Wally isn't the Don Juan of Hero High anymore!

*Chris shook his head and thought about looking for the Gossip Queen. Whoa, whoa, whoa...stop the clock. He had a better idea. Heh.
Chris wolfed down some cereal and headed to the administration building. He slipped into the men's room and slipped into his stealth armor. Chris stared at the mirror, pictured Emma Frost in his mind, and his armor shimmered. He looked just like the assistant headmistress. Excellent.
A minute later, Chris tapped on Diana's door.*
Come.
*He stepped inside and started the act he had been mentally rehearsing.*
Diana, darling, we have a problem.
What now, Emma?
It's Mary Batson. She's powering the rumor mill again. It seems she's spreading rumors of...for a lack of better term...orgy involving Cassandra and her boyfriend.
*The perfect bait. Chris knew that Diana wouldn't be able to ignore something with Cassie and himself involved. And Chris didn't feel bad because he was telling the truth about Mary and what she was saying.*
WHAT!? When I get my hands on that little girl...GRR! Let's go, Emma.
Just let me powder my nose, dear.
Are you okay? You sound sick.
*Uh oh.*
Just a bit of a cold. Run along, I'll catch up.
*Diana stormed out to look for Mary and Chris was left alone. He stepped over to the filing cabinets and started searching for student files. Ah! They were in alphabetical order by last name. But Logan went by one name so he was in the L's. Chris grabbed the files and hurried from the building. He went invisible as he headed back to his room.*

"I already knew that."
"-ready knew that, yeah." Day 2 of being a Peer Mentor was as scintillating as day 1. Amadeus Cho seemed to have the social skills of a brick, and was more interested in just grilling Hartley about facts about the school.
"So, why are you here, anyways?" Hartley decided to turn the tables on Mr. Question-and-Answer. "What's your power?"
"You don't have to have a power to go to Hero High. It is well-documented that this is the case. In fact, Hero High has an entire Journalism Study department that specifically targets non-Metas, is that not correct?"
"Uh...yeah...is that why you're so full of questions? Are you here for the journalism credit?"
"No. I have no interest in Earth media." Hartley was getting annoyed; he'd turned around the question to milk more answers about Hero High. Hartley put on the brakes of their campus tour.
"Then why ARE you here? Why am I 'mentoring' you? Why not pick someone like Mary Batson or Cassie Sandsmark?"
Amadeus paused, like he was weighing his words.
"I am here because this is the best place to be at this juncture in time. And I chose you as my mentor because I can be sure of you."
"Sure of me what?"
"Sure that you ARE you."
"Kid, you don't make any sense."
"Illogical. I make perfect sense. You just lack the perspective to properly understand yet." Hartley could see this kid just launching into popularity once he was introduced to the rest of the campus. They restarted their walk, coming around to Mysia's stable.
"This is where the school mascot lives. Her name's Mysia and she's a giant mutant elephant thing."
"Hyper-intelligence."
"I think she's of normal elephant intelligence."
"I was referring to myself. That is my 'power.' I have a vastly superior intellect in comparison to humans. OTHER humans. Like myself."
"Oh." Well okay then.
"If I say something that seems odd or out of character, it is most likely due to my severely advanced psyche."
"Oh." Broken record, Hartley. He cleared his throat. "Well maybe we should go look at the science labs then, or something."
"Excellent."

Emma Frost was in her office on a very long distance phone call...
" So, you contacted the other schools.... I see.... okay...and principal Roshi. Yes, alright.... a few weeks. I understand... thank you for telling me all this Obi-Wan... anything else. Okay. Bye.."
Emma leaned back in her chair with slightly worried look on her face. How was she going to break this to Diana. Right as she was in the middle of thought Diana came into her office.
' Come on Emma! After what you told me... we need to have a talk with Ms. Mary Batson.."
Emma lifted up an eyebrow.
" What I told you? Diana this is the first time I've seen you today.."
" But the who was in my office just a minute ago.."
" Probably one of our lovely students with a gudge against Ms.Batson."
Diana stopped in her tracks... upset that it seemed as though she had been had. Emma looked out the window in the office...
" Let it go. We have more important matters at hand."
" What are you talking about?"
" Haven't you wondered why Jedi Academy pulled out of all sports activities for the rest of year.. ?"
" I figured they were punishing the teams for something..."
" No... it's much more serious then that.."

*Chris was extremely distracted all day long. He couldn't concentrate on classes with that file sitting in his room. As soon as his last class was over, Chris ran back to the dorm to study. He even skipped lunch.
He started flipping through the file. Classes, grades, awards, and punishments. Blah, blah, blah. Wait...listed in the senior year section of the file was his residence. It said that it was a lakeside cabin with an unknown location. A clue! The cabin was next to a lake!
He needed maps! To the library!*

The next day Linda noticed her article was printed in the paper... it wasn't overly fan girlish... but didn't reveal to many personal details. Linda nodded at her work still... as a reporter was it okay for her to leave out some of the more juicy details of her interview with Kid Flash. Linda was unsure... she needed to find a way to justify it to herself... She would talk to Lois but Lois would just ask her what it was and then publish it on her own. Linda walked around campus... she passed by Ted Kord.. who asked her out- again and she refused -again. *sighs*
Linda really wasn't wanting a romantic relationship with anyone. But why... why was she unable to think about anyone but Kid Flash. Sure she had a crush on him but this was starting to feel like more then a crush... not good. Before Linda knew it she had wondered into the library... may be she would find the answer here. The answer to why she would withhold information about Kid Flash, why she felt so empty when he left.. just why.
The library was quiet as most students seemed to avoid it. This made Linda happy that she could be alone with her thoughts.

Jen had been having a really boring time. Karen had been super distracted, she guess because of her boyfriend and now no-one was coming to her club.
She sat there with her big pile of books and banners and looked around, what they needed was to show this to Achilles. She did wonder if he was ok, she hadn't seen the Greek hero wandering around campus being all sparkly and oily in a while.
"Okay.. first proposal of this club, find a Greek Hero and tell him he's awesome!"
