stare Talon....you know that guy...from Dragonheart....he was the baddie. i agree, though. hurting sucks, but she could be dead, and there would be no chance to remind her how much you love her. also, what i meant by that is that there are times when good things happen, and times where bad things happen. you're just in a bad times moment, and a good time moment will come again. that make better sense?

Galdrea stare Talon....you know that guy...from Dragonheart....he was the baddie. I am fully aware of that. Still, he has a point- at least I think he does. I have seen enough of death to know that it is not to be feared, but respected. Personally, I don't care if he was the villian. What made him bad was being a p***k- not his views on crossing the veil into the afterlife.

While I don't like instilling violence in others, it is how I feel. I have lived long enough to know that it is not angst, or rebellion of a teen with nothing he sees of value- which is where most people that share this belief can be found. I honestly feel that way and see no reason to sugarcoat it. Again, for what it is worth, I also offer aplogies to you, Spork. I realize that this topic is not exactly calming or soothing to you.

*heavy sigh* I seem to have killed this thread for the moment. Perhaps it is best if I go on my own way for a while. Perhaps Spork and Gummi can revitalize it with something happy. Happy is not something I am good with for now.

Hmmm...
Rather than bring the topic up again, I hope no one would mind if I changed the subject.
I just introduced the idea on the "Ideas for Radical Guild Improvement" thread, or whatever we call it. Anyway, details are over in the thread, but I was thinking of creating a sort of Arena for people to go into and flex their muscles whenever they feel like it. I'd be willing to manage it, even to set up tournaments. I just know how much I sometimes itch to just go at an actual person instead of an NPC, and I want to allow people to do this sometimes.
Thoughts?

that would be hard to manage. Because people's character's powers are based on different systems. You'll have a hard time keeping everyone from thinking they can win.... and from trying to powergame and such....

It's the classic "Samurai vs. Medieval Knight" all over again. Who would win? The best way to find out would be to make them fight. Unfortunately we can't very well do that.
So we pair up a wolf-demon with two katanas who specializes in lightning magic with a two thousand year old elf black mage with a large staff and a bow and arrow. Or a telekinetic against a battle-hardened cyborg with plenty of guns. Or a dragon-like creature against a knight with a broadsword. The outcome could go either way, couldn't it? Especially depending on the constiution of each character.
The idea is that everything thinks their character can win. I have a belief that at least 5 of my characters could royally lay the smack down on most people. But they each have their flaws and weaknesses. All that someone would have to do would be to exploit those weaknesses and the tide of the battle would quickly be over.
And people are always welcome to create new characters...
