"Yes you can devi...." He didn't know how to convince her that she could.
She pulled her knees up closer to her chest and laid her head on her knees. A few tears slipped down her cheeks.

He pulled away from her a little so he could look her in the eyes, "Yes you can Devi."
She moved her face so he couldn't see her crying. She shook with stifled sobs.

She shook her head. "No... its not...." She curled into him and cried.
"Devi..." He called after her a bit and went inside after her.

She went to her mothers room and knocked on the door. "Mama..."
She sniffed, "When can we go home?" she asked.

"Mama whats wrong?" She went to her mother and hugged her leg, looking up at her.
"How long?" She had no of sense time and just wanted to be away from this place.
