My brother says he is arrogant about music. He'll listen to something and say "Oh, I like how the trumpet part influnces the tone," or something.
I feel this way about animation. I'll say things like, "See how fluid the movement is? That is how you tell it has a high frame rate, high budget."

MahouTragicQueen There are lots of sterotypes in music. No, duh. That's what usually puts band into a genre. I read that thread, SJL likes it. surprised Also, I am tempted to change my name to "The Valorium Camper" for a while.

Comrade Clara I like music, but I don't really care too much about it. What I mean is that I have no musical standards whatsoever. My favorite music is that generic pop crap that all of you sophisticated musical people hate so much. Agreed. And I'm actually grateful for that - when you learn to enjoy eating shoe leather, you don't mind not having filet mignon. smile

SJL Yeah. It's just that music is a larger medium than Anime, not to mention it isn't broken down into stereotypical characteristics such as, "magical girl", "mecha", "cuddly creatures", etc.

Spider_Jerusalem I find it much easier to relate to people with similar taste in music to me than it is to relate to people with similar taste in Japanese Animation as well. It is easier to find people with similar taste in music.
