I'd say Kashimashi, but the main character's stuck as a girl in that instance. It's also yuri, and I'm not sure how Reg'd feel about that comparison.

Lord of Armageddon One of my favorites. Funny as hell.
I find it's underrated. Rumiko Takahashi is a great artist and everyone blows their load on Inu-Yasha, when Ranma has action, romance, and mega hilarity. It's amazing.
