"Fang's improved a lot since I first met him," Keegan nodded, after getting down from Nitro's back. "And it's still amazing to see you all grown up, Nitro. Keep up the good work." The redhead patted the Charizard's shoulder, rather impressed by how well his friend had trained him. He could recall when Mike and Nitro would wander around Lavaridge, just a boy and his Charmander. Keegan had always envied him, mainly because it took Keegan a long longer to get a Pokemon of his own. And that makes Themis my first actual Pokemon, Keegan thought with a chuckle, once again wondering when the Electrike would finally decide to evolve.
"There must be something we can do around here until Fang's ready to go again," he suggested, putting his hands into his pockets. He didn't think that Nitro wouldn't need as much of a rest, although the Charizard had pushed himself rather hard during the 'race'. "Maybe there'll be someone around who wants to battle or something."

((Sorry I haven't posted in a while, it's super CMT week ^^; ))
Bored, she walked aimlessly around for a while. She ventured out into the grass again, and soon came acroos a Pidgey, fluttering around in the grass.
She decided Ratata would battle again. Ratata was soon in front of Train, looking at the Pidgey it would be battling. As soon as Train gave the command, it slammed into the Pidgey, full force. Ratata was much stronger than it had been when Train had first caught it, so the Pidgey was pretty well weakened.
The Pidgey kicked up dirt in Ratata's face. Train grinned a bit. Sand Attack seemed to be all of the Pidgey's new favorite attack, or at least the ones she'd battled. She gave Ratata a signal, and it knew what to do. But instead of Tackle, it ended up striking Pidgey much quicker than before. "Whoa!" Train excalimed. "Ratata, you learned Quick Attack!" Train was proud, and patted the mouse pokemon after the Pidgey had fainted.

Mike hopped off of Nitro, also giving him a reassuring pat on the head. "Time for a rest." He held up the old Pokeball, withdrawing the Charizard inside.
"Well," Mike started, looking around at the vast scenery of Goldenrod. "Maybe...Keegan would like to battle me?" The boy adopted an almost sinister look, turning towards the fellow Lavaridge child. "Hm, maybe not." He said, looking instead at Kasiya. Not yet. He thought to himself, suppressing every urge to fight. Soon...

Keegan raised an eyebrow, and shook his head slowly. "Not happening," he said, cracking the knuckles on his right hand. "Something like that couldn't even be called a battle. More like a slaughter," he added. "Perhaps someday, we'll be in the same league, but not anytime soon." Truthfully, he'd never really seen Mike battle all that much before, but he was no fool. Keegan had started off much later as a trainer, so it was only natural that he'd be behind. Also, he'd lost even more progress now that his strongest party member was gone, and Mori would need a lot of training to bridge that gap.
He saw Mike's tentative gaze at Kasiya, and was almost certain that he'd be challenging her instead. If that's the case, she'd better not hold anything back, he thought, frowning. He'd seen her battle against Jaeshan that one time, and she had quite obviously not been putting her best effort into it. His fingers traced over the Ponyta's Poke ball, now preoccupying the first slot. He glanced around, wondering if he could find some low-level Pokemon in the area for her to train with. He turned to Kasiya then, an idea in mind. "Hey Kassie, lemme see your PokeDex for a minute."

"Yeah, it sort of strange. After that I woke up in this house. Touya, that's the guy I healed, said that it was meant to be for Pokemon and not really humans so that's why it hurt. He said I have these other weird powers too, like reading Pokemon's memories and stuff. Which I did by accident when I read Zyphyr's memories. He said I'm what the locals of Viridian called a 'Child of the Forest'." She gave a sheepish grin, wishing that she knew more about herself. It felt oddly strange to not know yourself when you were always you.
"He also said that he's my brother. Well an adopted brother. I have no true family. He said that he found in in the forest and his parents decided to adopt me." After a short pause she spoke up again, with a bit of urgency in her voice, "But you'll always still be my big bro too!"

"I better be." Dante grumbled good naturedly on his end of the line. "Child of the Forest? Huh, well that sounds fairly interesting. Even if you dont know, or have a biological family, your true family is the people you grew up with and the people you care about. At least thats what I think anyway. " He shrugged at that. "It sounds like you have been busy though. Heh, we haven't talked in a day and all this happens. Hopefully things will be less eventfull, or at least less shockingly eventful, for us." Looking down at the end of the bed he spotted Kenny half in and half out of the end of his bed. Rolling his eyes he shook his head at his pokemon's antics. "So what are you planning on doing next?"

I wonder when Nina will want to have that gym battle, Kasiya thought, staring at her shoes, and rocking back and forth a bit on her feet. I should get Shocker back from Professor Oak's house soon, I bet she's going crazy there. I wonder how the other Pokemon are doing. Is Seto being good? Has Digger made friends with anyone yet? Is Rosemary getting over her fear of everything? How's Allie doing? her thoughts continued to race in her head, coming back again to settle on the upcoming battle with Nina. She'd need that Marsh Badge, and soon. Perhaps after this little adventure with Mike and Keegan, she'd give her friend a call. Maybe we can just hang out and do girl stuff again, she thought, smiling. I bet Nina would like that...
Kasiya blinked, barely catching what Keegan said. "Oh, sorry, I was spacing out again," she laughed, reaching into her pockets. "Here you go. Oops, that's my PokeNav." After a bit more digging around, she produced the proper device. "What's up?"

Mitsu liked the way Dante thought of family. It made sense and definately lifted her spirits up. "True, true. I wonder if either of us will have a conversation where something normal happens for once," she laughed a bit then becagn to recall. "Although maybe we have . . . Ah, well either way, it's good to talk with you."
Haku trilled a bit as Mitsu gave her another playful poke. Thinking about what he had asked Mitsu came up a conclusion. Or lack of. "I don't really know. I mean, I don't really have any plans. Haven't really given it much thought. I guess I'll train my team some, Haku could use quite a bit of training, and find out about more of that Forest legend." Hopefully things'll become more clear. It's all so confusing. "What about you?"

"Thanks," Keegan said, taking it from her. "I just need to check up on Ponyta's stats. It's been a while since I've looked at them," he explained as he opened it, and turned it on. After a moment or two, he found the entry on Ponyta, noting with a furrowed brow that it would be a rather long time before Mori learned her first fire type attack. I wonder if she was given any egg moves, he thought, going over the list the handheld encyclopedia presented him. There was no way to know for sure, other than by finding out from his parents, are calling out random commands to see if Morgan would carry them out or not.
At that moment, he heard the slight chirp coming from his PokeNav, which he took from his pocket and checked. It was another message from his parents. He raised an eyebrow, and read it, laughing a bit at what he read. "So she knows Double Kick?" he mumbled, shaking his head and sending a note of thanks in return. "It isn't Flame Wheel, but it'll do." He put the Nav back into his pocket, turned off Kasiya's PokeDex and handed it back to her, pretending as if he hadn't just been talking to himself. "So what's the game plan, kids?"

"Actually I am going to do some training as well. I also heard about Pokemon Contests and I figured that I would give it a shot. If nothing else my pokemon could use the experience it will give them. Maybe I will vist some lower level gyms for Levi and Moeder." He mused to himself. "Then of course the beach party my mother is throwing. Your going to that right?" He asked curiosly. He figured that that would be a good time for them to see each other again. " I hope you find out more about that legend. It sounds very interesting, if I hear anything about it I will make sure to call you."

Mike scrunched his face at Keegan's immediate dismissal. It's hard to find good rivals these days. He sighed, once again akin to the Fortree Gym Leader. As he watched him and Kasiya interact, he wondered himself what the boy was looking up. He heard something about Double Kick, an image of Portabello flashing in his mind at the mention of a Fighting attack.
"I don't know." He replied to Keegan's question, nodding over to the girl. "I'm up for anything."

"Pokemon Contests. They had one in Lilycove I think. They sound interesting, also with all that grace and glitter I don't think I'd be able to win." She gave another small laugh, she had been so different than most of the other girls on the island back home. "And of course I'm going! It sounds like a lot of fun, plus I'm sure your mom made some great events for it. And I do too, and thanks in advance! I'm pretty sure I'll need all the help I can get." Haku pokes at Mitsu this time before squirting another jet of ink into her face. Or she tried at least. Mitsu barely dodged the ebony colored ink before giving the growing Horsea another playful poke. You're definately growing. And you'll need some training too.

"Yeah, me too," Kasiya nodded, casting a glance in the direction of Goldenrod Gym. I have this sinking suspicion that she's not even there, she thought, frowning. She pocketed her PokeDex, and sighed. "I'm sure we'll think of something," she said reassuringly, glancing at Keegan again. "Who knows Double Kick?" she asked, tilting her head. "Oh, that new little Ponyta you got? Maybe we could go and do some training?" she suggested. "It could kill a bit of time while Fang and Nitro rest up, plus it'd be beneficial at the same time."

"Yes she tends to throw good parties. But yes the race does sound fun, who do you plan on entering? I bet you can guess who I am entering." He chuckled a bit at that. Outside Moeder was hopping around through the tree's while Levi was spotting pokemon and using her new found ability at aiming was shooting them with Water Gun's. If any of them choose to actually give chase Moeder just glared at them, if that didn't work they got one of her powerful punches.

"Yeah, that's right," Keegan nodded, and groaned inwardly. "She'll have a decent move for the time being, at least, but she won't learn Ember for quite some time. And I've named her Mori," he added, once again touching the Poke Ball that rested in the first slot. "Training could work. Might be some interesting folk to battle nearby, too," he added, scuffing the pavement with his shoe. He didn't know how long the two flying Pokemon would take to recuperate, but the prospect of giving Mori a try, and seeing just what kind of use she could get out of her hereditary move was enough to get him motivated.
