Kimino smiled "The souls can't hurt us on their own......maybe a concentrated beam of like a 1000 from the demon king himself can but not one" he said as a few more lights appeared
Alex grinned from the ledge as he watched the scene below
"The demon king is gaining power this is almost over"
A small blue fiend appeared behind him he cast stop on it before looking back at the scene

"Yes Kimino that is often called a soul cannon. But admit it you like looking at these buggers" Alpha also smiled.
"We are getting closer now. Thats a human soul" Hikari said pointing out a slightly deformed sphere.
Asmodeus was leaning against the side of the door whistling wow this is boring she thought. Suddenly something caught her eye. "Looks like i have my own errand to take care of" She yawned and headed off down the corridoor leading back to the higher levels

Kimino smiled "The study of souls is an important part of the cults curriculum kinda reminds me of my times as a boy in the chamber of souls"
Oassu laughed "Hard to think of you ever as a boy Kimino" he frowned as Alpha indicated the deformed sphere "Why do we get the deformed ones?"

"Ok. those two are human souls you can tell by an aura that is given off. How big that is usually tells you how old it is and the colour may change depending on the element the life form was. However there are some people that like to mess with these things." Alpha explained.
"Souls can be moulded, modified, manipulated you get the idea. All that can be done if you have such power. They can even be reused however doing this can lead to a few deformalities " Hikari added to Alpha's lecture.
Seph glared at Hikari "You've done it before haven't you?!"
Hikari lowered her head "I won't deny it. It's true"
Asmodeus headed up towards the old arena. She looked around. the place had been filled with small blue fiends. She noticed her current destination had been blocked up by what appeared to be a large pile of rubble. "Surely this place should be cleaned up by now" She complained

Kimino sighed "Once you get into darkness it's hard to not get dragged further in, I thought you'd have more pride and honour than this Hikari"

Hikari looked blankly at Kimino "Meh there are two types of battles one to protect and one for pride and honour. No offense but I don't want to give you my life story. Anyway theres only about 300 metres left." The passageway began to open out and the walls changed to a more rounded shape. The number of souls passing by was increasing rapidly

Kimino frowned "The Demon King may just be around this corner I don't expect any of us to have what it takes but we can only try" he said as the souls brushed through him lifting him up through the light chasm above.
Oassu sighed "Damn I'm the least powerful one here as far as combat's concerned" he smiled as the souls began to lift him "Still I can't be all that bad if I made it so far"
Alex smiled from above "Finally the power to conquer worlds is here!" He cast is arm out across the chasm of souls beneath him "The Demon King will arise and be enslaved by me and I will harness his energy and use it to take over this world!" he drew his arms back and raised them to heavens "but hell I suppose I gotta give those fools some credit they did help me get this far and they still are determined to finish this quest" he glanced down into the colourful carpet of souls as Kimino's figure emerged from below

"Honestly do you all have to be so negative, it's not good for you" Alpha complained. "He's right. This guy knows how to play with your weakness and doubt" Seph agreed. The ground began to shake. An almost blinding light was ahead "Thats it up ahead. But something isn't right and I'm not talking about the obvious." Hikari said looking around
With much effort Asmodeus managed to squeeze through a small opening she had just made. She walked through one of the regular illusions in the wall these tricks are starting to show through After walking through several illusions and corridoors she came to a thick metal door "Sorry everyone but i'm not going to stand around watching" She muttered slowly turning the handle

Oassu glanced about the beautiful scenary as he floated on the carpet of souls "It's beautiful"
Kimino pointed to a large cluster of souls forming into a shining ball in the distance "That's where the Demon King will come from" as the souls rose up to form a relatively human shape was forming

Kimino frowned "There he is" he said pointing to a large ball of light in the center of the carpet of souls.
A slim figure walked out and checked a watch on his arm "About time you cretins got here" he stretched in his business suit "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I've been waiting for those pieces of the dark crystal for a long time" he smiled brightly his teeth flashing in the light of the souls.
Oassu's jaw dropped "This is the demon king.......?"
Kimino reddened and frowned "Yes"
