"Of course paying. I do not see that man being very hospitable." Terryn shrugged. "Why do you bring it up?"

Marcus looked at her hesitantly. "Well, we're not going to be living in that manor for much longer, are we?"

"I would hope not..." Terryn blinked, only then realizing what he had meant. "You wish...to move in there?"

Marcus shrugged, still trying to see whether or not Terryn's features indicated that she was opposed to the idea. "It's not far from my work, and it's quite safe. And it should be cheap, although I doubt that the doctor will go out of his way to make us comfortable."

"I do not need the doctor to be accomodating, only tolerable." Terryn sighed. "I know a little about alchemy, not very much but perhaps I could help him during the day and do something with myself while you are working."

Marcus nodded, glad to see that she was beginning to warm up to the idea. "Yes. I'm sure he would appreciate it. You don't mind, then?"

Terryn shrugged, leaning against him. "I suppose not. Anything is better than that awful manor."

Marcus nodded. He didn't particularly dislike the manor, but he thought Terryn would feel much more at ease anywhere else. "I'll go inside now. And speak to the Doctor very briefly. Would you like to ask him about your prospects as an assistant?" he asked, slipping his arms around her.

Terryn shook her head, sinking into the seat and nuzzling into his neck momentarily. "Not right now. I will ask him once I am more than the vomit girl to him."

Marcus chuckled, his hands wandering. Terryn's figure was fairly familiar to him now, and he did not feel tentative in the least anymore. "There's no guarantee of that ever happening, I'm afraid."

"Well, then I would at least like to know him better." Terryn shut her eyes feathering a few kisses on Marcus's neck. "Especially since I am a woman, and I know that he will be reluctant to take me on for something like medicine."

Marcus shrugged, kissing Terryn's neck lightly. "Well...Dr. Drabinsky is unlike other men. I think he scarcely noticed that you are a woman, and I am almost certain that he will not care in the least."

"Let us hope not." Terryn sighed and let her body relax, feeling less pain than she had. "And I suppose it would be good to have a doctor in the house were there to be more complications from whatever I drank."

"Yes, sir." Terryn yawned and detached herself from him, leaning back into the seat of the carriage. "I will be here waiting."
