Jay sighed as she flipped a coin up and down in her hand. She put it back into her pocket and watched the quartet as they played Two Hornpipes, her favorite tune.
She watched a figure walk out into the rain. "It's a little cold out there, mate!" she called, but he was out of earshot.

Kibo: Enough of this king-talk. I'll be right back.
Kibo walks over to Jamacia, smiling warmly.
Kibo: Cold and wet, aren't we?
He holds his hand out in front of her, and the water flies off her clothes in a fine, and surprisingly warm, mist.
Kibo: There, that must be better. What's your name, litt-lun?

Ranu paused. Most people thought he was still human but Dream was slowly seeping herself into him. He twisted and looked at her and smiled, "After the three years of heat I've had here," he said tapping his hat, "It'll be just grand to get wet."
With that, the teenager slipped outside, where the rain was felling heavily onto him. He removed his hat and stood stock still, staring upwards.

Jay looked at Kibo, smiling slightly. "Jamacia," she said, "But call me Jay, and thanks for getting rid of the rainwater,"

Storm gave Jay a critical look, a faint smile turning up the corners of her mouth. She gave Aubry a glance, waggling her eyesbrows at her.
"Fresh meat, mate. What should my surname be today?"

Outside, Ranu shivered. It wasn't the rain, for that was warm. He'd thought he'd heard a hiss. Spinning, he felt something smash into him then nothing else.
Inside, Dream's wings fluttered then she settled. She was highly aware of Ranu being dragged into an alley, but said nothing.

Jay's sharp ears picked up a soft thump from outside. She poked her head out the door, keeping one hand firm on her cutlass' hilt.
Noticing nothing out of the ordinary, she walked back inside, taking off her purple bandanna and wringing it of rainwater.

Kibo: Don't worry about Ranu. You'd be hard pressed to find something that'd kill him. Oh, pardon, I haven't introduced myself.
He stands up, bowing low.
Kibo: Admiral Kibo Botch, of the Spirit Fleet, at your service. Now, what brings you to Tortuga, Jay?

Ranu was dragged into an alley, where a man that looked fairly like him knelt over him. Looking at him a moment, he suddenly punched the unconscious teenager in the face. Nodding, the man stood and kicked at the teenager again, this time breaking his nose.
Watching the blood, the male drew out candles, lighting them and walking in a circle around him. He paused to kick Ranu in the face again then light the candles. He begun walking around the teenager swiftly. As he walked, he would aim a kick at Ranu as if he truly hated whom he did this to. He stopped and a wind blew out the candles, making the man looked down at Ranu, who's eyes were opening slowly. The man looked coldly down at Ranu a moment, then said, "Stop your brother."
With that, Ranu got a split seconds view of a boot smashing towards him, which was ample time for him to yell out for help, before he saw a splash of red then nothing.

"To be honest, Admiral," Jay said absently, "I've come to Tortuga to gather a few supplies before sailing to Port Royal to steal a ship, and go on as the youngest pirate to sail the Spainish Main...all without being captured and hung by either the East India Comapny or the Royal Navy." She smiled in spite of herself, then thought, Sometimes, maybe I dream a tad too over my limits...
Suddenly, there was a cry for help coming from outside. "What was it you said about Ranu not being easily killed?" Jay asked Kibo, raising an eyebrow and looking towards the door.

Storm joined them, using her hands to push back Jay, even though she was not rising.
"Leave the lad be, he'll be alright. Why steal a ship when you could be given one?"

The man finally stopped standing on Ranu's face and walked to the end, pausing and looking back at him, "I mean it. Stop your brother." Ranu lay still a few moments while his mind went into a half trance state, assessing his body for damage. Cracked ribs and a broken nose and left arm. Standing with a stiffled moan, the teenager reached for his hat, holding it losely. He shufffled to the door, feeling the hot feeling of blood seep down his nose. He stopped at the door, aware of the forecoming of tears, and fought back the emotion. The last thing he needed was Storm's mockery. He lent on the door and half calapsed. His eye was already going black while his nose bleed freely. "Kibo?" Ranu said, spitting blood from his lips in a bloody blob. "Admiral Kibo. I need a word and quick." His head span and he felt his eyes go blurry, but if he was offered help, he would refuse.

Kibo: *chuckles* Down, girl. You'll have a chance to argue your case in a bit.
He sits back down, offering her a glass of water.
Kibo: Water? I noticed you didn't order anything when you went up to the bar. Do you not like rum or something?
He shakes his head.
Kibo: Sorry, I'm going off on a tangent. I'm an Admiral. One who happens to have an unused ship. Have I piqued your interest yet?

Storm narrowed her eyes at Kibo, but talked right over him.
"Just what it sounds like, girlie. You get a ship, free of charge, free of commitments, free of the risk of having pices of your body cut off with umpleasent objects. Which is more then he can give you, I will garentee. So, would you like one?"
She happened to look up, hearing someone enter out of habit. Her eyes grew only colder, seeing Ranu standing there dripping and bleeding.
“What happened?”
