That was NEVER his goal.Exactly, though many seem to miss this point. If people want to study foreshadowing in Naruto, take the beginning into account. Naruto hasn't lost his drive to become Hokage (he hasn't lost his will to save Sasuke, either) just as Sasuke hasn't lost the will to avenge his clan. Many people might argue that Sakura's goal wasn't Sasuke, but he HAS to this point, been her inspiration and presently, it is her goal to bring him back home. mingzhu

Let me state this again: Eye contact or blushing does not always signify romantic inclinations! So Sakura saw Naruto in a new light with his quick thinking and confidence, does not mean she is suddenly attracted to him. In fact, Naruto was known to be an idiot then, an idea coming from him to save the entire Team 7 is already impressive that even Sasuke thought so too (even if he didn't say it out loud).
Agreed. Sakura started to develop RESPECT for Naruto during the Wave Arc. I don't see any instances that proved she was in love with him. :/ Where did this explication come from?mingzhu

If she was that shallow, she wouldn't stick with him for so long. Even after knowing his faults and short-comings she still tried to stop him from leaving the village and confessing her feelings to him on the spot in desperate attempts to be with him. Take note, I said 'to be with him' not 'ask him to stay' that is because she stated that she would rather even go with him to Sound as long as he wouldn't leave her. In short, she was ready to run away with him, betray her village, leave her family all for the sake of him. And if this little lady isn't ready to go to Hell and back for Sasuke, I don't know what else to call this.
Sakura could have had a much easier way out by liking the guy who already likes her. It would be a LOT easier to attach herself to a man who didn't lead such a complicated and angsty life of revenge, bloodshed and betrayal.
Agreed. While Sakura did initially crush on Sasuke, her perspective about him changed once she learned more about him. Adding onto your reasons-- If she were that shallow, why would she risk her life on the battle-field and be willing to defend him against Gaara? She also went all out against Sasori, to the point where she was impaled in the stomach by a sword, just to find information about Sasuke's where-abouts. If this were all JUST a crush, she would have dropped Sasuke after he told her off enough times. Yet she didn't and she remained and she developed genuine feelings for the boy, feelings she confessed. mingzhu

AGH. SAKURA IS NOT A FREAKIN' CONSOLATION PRIZE. burning_eyes I'm sorry, but this is why I'll NEVER like NaruSaku. Even if the relationship sometimes strikes me as cute, I will never support it. The level of tardism I have seen in this fandom astounds me to this day and has always managed to turn me off. Anti-SasuSaku/Rabid NaruSaku fans simply cannot keep to themselves. They always have to make a case-in-point about "HOW NARUSAKU IS BETTER THAN SASUSAKU" or "You're blind if you think SasuSaku will still happen." It's to the point where they attack us for making FANART of SasuSaku and telling us to "go die." -___- I'm perfectly aware that other non-narusaku fans also bash the pairing/pairing-fans, but it has never been to as much extent. One of the reasons why I'm always content with the SasuSaku fandom is because we don't run amuck with WANK & WANGST. The majority of the fandom doesn't attack unless provoked to do so- something that is occurring more and more often. We never go around posting "NARUSAKU SUCKS (unless provoked)," or "LEESAKU sucks." I know because if we were anything like the NaruSaku fandom, I would not have stuck around for four years. confused I myself don't like certain pairings but I never go around saying "BURN IN HELL" or "GO DIE PLZ." Honestly, telling people off because of their preferences only makes you out to be the a**. Wah, thank you so much for agreeing! *has nothing else to say because that helped her in and of itself*

I don't really mind NaruSaku, but most of the fans are just plain retards. They don't know how to properly defend a pairing, or they hate characters for a stupid reason.
I think the pairing is cute, but for some reason, I can't see it happening.

Eh. I don't know. I don't want to diss the NaruSaku fandom. because I do know good sane fans. But that fandom has ruined a LOT for me.
I don't know if many if you know/remember this, but I was a big SasuHina fan once. Now, I didn't go preaching it was canon (it wasn't and it's NOT) or I thought it was going to be, because I though, and STILL think, that NaruHina and SasuSaku will be the final pairings (IF Kishi decides to have it).
But then, I suddenly see something like this: "Man, Hinata just flat out SUCKS. She's got nothing going for her, and she's not NEARLY as cool and strong as Sakura. Her with Naruto would just be retarded, and no good for Naruto."
"Sasuke needs to die. He's emo and stupid for bailing out on Konoha to go with that rapist Orochimaru. He doesn't like Sakura, so they obviously would be a HORRIBLE PAIRING!"
"...Hey! You know what, I think those two could work out!"
"YEAH! SasuHina forever!"
....OMGPLZ. And then we get all these accusations of how even though Sasuke and Hinata have not even interacted ONCE, it's enough to be canon, when NaruHina and SasuSaku ISN'T.
SasuHina, as a CRACK pairing, is fun and cute, and I understand why people think it could work, IF it were possible, and IF the crcumstances were a bit different. SasuHina, as a could-be-cannon pairing, is just STUPID, because I don't see how a freaking LOVE CONFESSION not make sense, and two people never once talking to each other make sense.
Hinata likes Naruto. Not Sasuke. Get the ******** over it. >> It's CRACK.
Really, (with an exception of a few people in the) NaruSaku fandom. The SasuHina fans had a good fandom until you took over and basically made for Hinata and Sasuke to whore each other so that Sakura and Naruto would have no competition.
It's like bashing...and really, nothing in fandom pisses me off more than that. xP

.. Wow. Are you guys venting or what? xDD Nevertheless, a lot of you have brought up excellent points. [And I love LAPs. heart ]
Honestly, there are only a FEW NaruSaku fans that don't get on my nerves. I really hate this 'superior' attitude a lot of them seem to carry around with them, and I'm getting SICK of them being SO certain that NaruSaku is going to happen.

Yet most of them seem to ignore what happened with SasuSaku and NaruHina in Part I. I mean, come on. SAKURA STOPPED SASUKE'S RAMPAGE WITH A HUG. That is anything BUT romantic. Name me one OBVIOUSLY romantic NaruSaku moment.
Something else I've noticed.. they say Sakura can easily change her feelings, and start liking Naruto? Then Naruto can just as easily fall for Hinata.
And like a member on NarutoFan stated, it's as if both Sasuke and Hinata need to disappear for their pairing to happen. Because, trust me, Hinata's not going to stop liking Naruto anytime soon, and Sasuke's a wild card because we don't exactly know how Sakura feels at this point. [I'm putting my money on those chapter covers, though. Those quotes were just.. so.. SasuSaku-ish.]

I have met some NaruSaku-ers that are nice and respect how much I dislike and understand where I am coming from. So its nice. But like I said, not all of them are like. Ive found a majority of them that spend little time defending the right way.
That is all. They frustrate me to end and Its hard to be optimistic and say nice things about the couple when their fandom isnt exactly putting me on any neutrality with them. But I guess they could say the same about SasuSaku-ers
