Matteo nodded at Tristen's answer to the sandwich question, making a mental note of something for later. After a few more sit ups Matteo would fall back onto the ground and lay flat, letting out a grunt as he hit the ground. "Alright, twenty." He said, groan as he rolled to the side and leaned back up, no doubt feeling a little sore. Now that they were done Matteo would stand up and look to Ms. Dendra, as did the rest of the class as they awaited further instruction after finishing their sit ups. "Did you know Ms. Dendra is best friends with the Tulip, the Alfornada Gym Leader, a Psychic Gym Leader specifically. She sometimes helps out the gym leader with these goofy aerobic exercises. Ever see those? ESP she calls it, don't know what it stands for. Penny, Fela and the rest of 'em one time find a PoryTube video of Ms. Dendra and Tulip explaining the exercises. It was kinda funny. I got detention though for making a joke about it to Ms. Dendra." Matteo would randomly say as he looked at Ms. Dendra who was currently helping the twins do their exercises, seeing it as good of a time as ever to regale Tristen with a bit of academy lore. Several minutes later the class bell would ring, Ms. Dendra caught completely off guard as she was distracted by the twins. Looking towards her students she called out. "Okay, I guess that's it for today! All of you be sure to shower when you get back to your rooms, drink water, and enjoy your evening! Class dismissed! Now you two..." She said before turning back to E. and B., still trying to get them together. Matteo would see his chance to slip away without dealing with the twins and turned to Tristen. "That's my cue to split. See you later, Tristen." He said, giving Tristen a quick wave before heading off and leaving Tristen to do whatever he would for the rest of his day.

SubonicXP Matteo would see his chance to slip away without dealing with the twins and turned to Tristen. "That's my cue to split. See you later, Tristen." He said, giving Tristen a quick wave before heading off and leaving Tristen to do whatever he would for the rest of his day. Tristen listened on to Matteo as he told about some of the going ons in Paldea. Ms. Dendra close to the gym leader in Alfornada? That was interesting. Then again, it was probably expected. With the Victory Road route seemingly running under the jurisdiction of the academy, it effectively seemed as if the gym leaders were teachers in and of themselves. Or at least at this point is what Tristen is assuming given everything. He’d probably talk to his adoptive father later about it. With the bell ringing, Matteo would give his goodbyes to Tristen, Tristen returning the notion to him. He’d see him tomorrow during Mr. Salvatore’s class during the second period. Speaking of whom, Tristen made it a note to stop by Mr. Salvatore’s classroom if he was available to get a bit more help on his make-up work for his class. While it wasn’t going to be due tomorrow, now that he thought about it, he wasn’t really given any due date on it, he still wanted to try to get it some of it down so he could be relatively on speed with the rest of the class. Following that, errands that he wanted to go take care of. One of which would be seeing about getting GRAY that discontinued Rotophone. The more Tristen thought about it, he was left to wonder if he would be able to get away with getting one, never mind explain why he would want a discontinued one without the Rotom in it as opposed to a new one. Never mind that Tristen has his own SNAG. That was probably going to take a fair bit of explaining and maybe give someone something to be open to the idea. Then after that, simply just to stop by the nearest Pokémon center near the academy to get his Tera Orb recharged after all this time. Tristen would start making his way off the field then made his way off back inside of the academy, going to see Mr. Salvatore once again if he was available.

Tristen would eventually find his way to Mr. Salvatore's class room, finding the door open and on the inside the teacher himself. The man looked to be trimming and filing the claws on a Galarian Meowth, the cat patiently sitting on his desk as the teacher helped groom him. Mr. Salvatore would become aware of Tristen's presence as the Meowth meowed in his direction. "Hm? Oh! Bonjour, senor Tristen! Here for more help with the assignments I take it?" He asked the boy as he turned back to the Galarian Meowth, continuing his work on the cat. "Don't worry, we'll be finished here soon. Please, come in and sit down." The Meowth would follow Tristen with its eyes, its body posture indicating that it didn't exactly trust the Manetric hybrid nor did it care for his presence as it was slightly more puffed up than normal, fur raised. "Oh calm down." Mr. Salvatore told the cat.

Tristen would traverse the halls and find his way back to Mr. Salvatore’s classroom once again, knocking on the door to make his presence known. He seen the Pokémon and Mr. Salvatore there tending to the Pokémon. “Hello, Mr. Salvatore. Uh, yes sir, I was wanting to go back over the stuff we talked about yesterday again just to make sure that I am getting it. It was pretty hard yesterday, though. I was wanting to see about trying to get at least some of the assignments that you gave me finished before I go to bed tonight so I can at least turn some of it in to you tomorrow in class.” Tristen explained to the Language teacher. As he made his way in, getting a better look of the Pokémon , Tristen started to realize what exactly it was. “Isn’t that a Galarian Meowth? I’ve seen a couple of those before. You made trips to the Galar region too, Mr. Salvatore?”

Mr. Salvatore would give a little nod and a smile before responding to Tristen's question in the affirmative. "It sure is! And I most certainly have. Galar is a lovely region, I visited to spectate the yearly Champion Cup one awhile back. Marvelous battles to behold! That Leon sure is talented as well. While I was there I met this little guy here and added him to be trio of Meowth. He's easily the most rowdy of the three, aren't you?" He said with a chuckle as he rustled the fur on the Galarian Meowth's head, the cat little out a happy purr as it nuzzled up against the hand. "Alright, mon cheri, I need to help young Tristen here with his schoolwork so back to the ball for you." The man said as he took out a Pokeball and recalled his Pokemon before minimizing said ball and stashing it in his front coat pocket.
"Now then, what can do for you, hombre?" He asked Tristen with a smile. "That is exactly what you are still struggling with."

Every time it looked like I was getting it, but when as we went on, something threw my understanding off track. It happened a few times through that hour yesterday we spent together. What’s worse, after I was done from here yesterday afternoon, between an errand I needed to go on and having to do, some Mr. Hassell’s homework that was due today and some of Ms. Raifort’s homework, I have to admit I didn’t get too much of an opportunity to work on your make-up work.” Tristen said, a bit regretful. Which that reminded him…there was Ms. Raifort’s report for tomorrow as well that he didn’t factor too much into his agenda today. At this rate, he was going to be up a good chunk of the night trying to do all of this. Suddenly he started missing working on stuff back at Snagem. At least there was some leeway there. “Anyways, I was wanting to review over what we did yesterday and make sure that I do have it down pat and then I want to try going on my own from there.”

"Ah, that's right, Kalosian practice. Forgive me, I have another class working on the Alolan dialect, sometimes I get things mixed up." Mr. Salvatore explained, giving off an embarrassed chuckle. "Alright then, do you have your worksheets with you? If not I could pull out some copes. And here, let me get a textbook real quick..."
Once all was done and said Tristen and Mr. Salvatore would be seated at the teacher's desk with the worksheets laid out and the book turned to common Kalosian phrases. They had gone over again how to greet someone and tell them your name and now Mr. Salvatore moved onto how to common questions which was also a lesson in formal and informal speech. "Now if you wanted to ask someone how they are in a formal setting, like at work or to an adult you would say comment allez vous? For an informal setting with friends and peers you would say comment vas tu? And for your best friends and close family you might use the most informal comment ca va? Kalosian has a lot of these instances where what exactly you say depends on who you are talking to. Does that make sense to you?" He asked Tristen, making sure he understood what he was saying. "Pop quiz; how would you ask your classmate, who you only see in class and never outside, how they are?"

Tristen tried to pay close attention to Mr. Salvatore’s impromptu lecture, going over the worksheets that he had and referred back to the text book. It was a wonder to the Manectric hybrid that common phrases they were, they were still baffling. It was perhaps the whole formality part to it, by chance? Paldean for instance had phrases that he understood that ended masculine and feminine, which sounded odd, but it was what it was. It almost felt like it doubled the entire dictionary just on its own. Then comes Kalosian, which effectively tells Paldea ‘Tiens mon soda.’. It was a wonder as Tristen went on and studied over the language just how language just came into fruition to begin with. Then the impromptu quiz. Listening to Mr. Salvatore, Tristen had to think on that for a second. In class, but not outside? It felt like a trick question somewhat. Maybe not ‘comment allez vouz’ since while technically it was in his ‘work’ setting, it was more towards his friends, or subsequently his peers in class, and it was in class, and not beyond the school. So the semi-formal one, right? “Uh, its ‘comment vas tu?’” Tristen answered Mr. Salvatore. It made the most sense to him.

Mr. Salvatore cheered for the boy, giving him a polite clap. "Not all phrases or words in Kalosian have these three levels of politeness, though almost all of them have two, formal and informal. Now that's not to get into masculine and feminine like we have in Paldean. Any who, let's keep going..." ----- Some time would pass with Mr. Salvatore aiding Tristen in his Kalosian make up work. Plenty was explained to Tristen such as further explanation on formal and informal speech, going over the greetings again which also changed depending on who you addressed and the time of day, as well as looping back to the masculine and feminine thing. It was no doubt a lot for Tristen to take in but Mr. Salvatore at one point would notice the clock and realized it was getting late. "Well, jeune homme, I need to be leaving so that's all the time I can give you today. Think you got it?" The teacher asked his student. Once he got confirmation from Tristen that he was good the man would get up and give Tristen a little bow before saying. "Au revoir, a la prochaine! Goodbye, until next time!" He said with a smile before leaving the room. "Oh! Lock the door on your way out, s'il te plait." The teacher as he popped his head back in briefly and then left once again, leaving Tristen in his room to collect his things.

Tristen, relieved that he managed to get the question right, started to feel a little more confident about the assignment given to him now. As he continued on, getting the impromptu lecture, it still looked rather daunting, even with this new understanding of the language. But it wasn’t as bad as it looked before. Maybe he could have a fair bit of his make-up work done to turn into Mr. Salvatore by tomorrow like he wanted to. “Thank you, Mr. Salvatore.” Tristen said starting to get his things together to stash in his pack. “See you in class tomorrow.” It wouldn’t take long after Mr. Salvatore leaving the class room before Tristen found his way out the door himself, checking the door to find the locking mechanism, locking the door and heading out.
With that after-school lesson now under him, it was time to run the errands that he needed before he settled into his dorm for the evening. He would pull out his SNAG for a second to check the clock. Pokémon centers were open at all times so the Tera Orb wasn’t that dire to be taken care of, and he had perhaps until late tonight to see about his history report, but he wasn’t so much as sure about seeing about looking into that discontinued Rotom phone. He figured to go on ahead and take care of that first. Tristen, unfortunately, didn’t quite know where to actually get one of them however. He figured his best lead at this point was back towards the front of the academy, where the library was at. Namely, the information and reception desk where he ended up signing up for the tournament roughly three weeks ago and give him an idea as to where to look, if there was anywhere to look.
Stashing his SNAG, He would walk off from Mr. Salvatore’s classroom, down the halls, and on his way to the reception desk, all the while trying to figure out how to explain that he wanted a Rotophone without the Rotom.

"Oh, hello there Tristen! Having a good evening? How did your classes go?" The front desk receptionist asked the boy as he walked up, recognizing him instantly then again it was hard to forget about not just a foreign hybrid but also one evolved at such a young age. The Psyduck behind the front desk would let out a loud yawn, no doubt sleepy this late in the day, and then proceed to acknowledge the boy with a quake and a head tilt, its way of saying 'hello'.
Looking around Tristen would note the library was pretty empty, just a few students milling about, even fewer utilizing the books. Quiet evening.

Making his way down the stairs and off to the desk. It was far from the massive bustle of academy hours. Students mostly have either recused back to their dorms or went off around Mezagoza to do whatever they felt to do. Once he arrived at the desk, he was greeted by the receptionist. Tristen had to take a quick breath to himself. He hadn’t fully worked out as to how to explain to anyone the situation. “Uh, hey there. Um…I know this is going to sound like a crazy question and all, but do you know anywhere that I can get a hold of a Rotophone that’s no longer being used. Obsolete, rather? Something without the Rotom in it?” Tristen asked the desk receptionist.

"Hm? A Rotophone that's not being used? I suppose that is a strange request, unless of course you're taking the academy's Integration of Technology and Pokemon class, then I could understand why you might want to an obsolete Rotophone. Couple years ago one of our students modified an old Rotophone to be controlled by a Porygon instead. Are you trying to do something similar?" The receptionist asked Tristen upon considering his request, not waiting for an answer as they walked off. "I think I have some old units somewhere..." They muttered to themselves as they disappeared into the back.
It would take several minutes before the receptionist returned, Tristen only kept company by the Psyduck as it stared at him for a long while before slowly falling asleep, still holding its head. Kind of cute.
The receptionist would return in time carrying a Rotophone, one that was fairly bulkier than the ones Tristen was used to seeing, more square than rectangular and had a physical keyboard composed of tiny buttons. "This was all I could find, not sure how long they have been sitting back there, must have been overlooked for recycling. Sorry I couldn't find you anything more recent." The receptionist said as they sat the ancient looking Rotophone on the counter and slid it towards Tristen. "Will this do?"

Tristen couldn’t help but to sweatdrop for a moment as the woman walked off to go check to find any obsolete phone. Someone actually tried what Tristen and GRAY was looking to do? When did that even happen? And why would a regular Porygon need it unlike GRAY who literally couldn’t exist outside of a computer device? Questions among questions. When she came back with the old Rotophone, Tristen was left astonished over how big this thing was. A wonder how technology had advanced all this time. Then again, that he could recall, the Rotom Dexes back in Alola weren’t exactly compact either. Maybe the Rotom itself had to do more with the portability of the device than anything. “This should be fine, thank you.” He said. “Do you want this back for recycling by chance? Or is there anything that you want me to do with it when I am done?” he then asked the receptionist.

"Oh no, you can keep it. We'll just end up destroying it and throwing it out anyways, it's too old for any kind of recycling. So take it, enjoy!" The receptionist answered Tristen, letting him keep the ancient Rotophone.
"G-gengar!" The Gengar behind the receptionist concurred. Wait, Gengar? Where did that come from? And where did the...Psyduck...go...huh, it was gone. That was weird.
With Rotophone acquired that checked one more thing off of Tristen's to-do list. What else could he get done this evening?
