"Not... many though I do have some old shoes that was out grown," Helen replied.

Though he knew he was going to have to re-calculate all of Andarien's future growths.

"At any rate, you'll need boots if it's winter, and I hav-had them... I'll have to switch out both boots and shoes."

And Andarien would need boots, he already knew this.

"Well you already have lots to do with the clothes," Andarien pointed out. "I need night clothes too. Nana and Ada say there's really good places to get good boots there. You won't have time to do everything!"

What was Helen going to do? Work non-stop until the family left again?

Helen chuckled, it was true he did already do a lot (in some ways he was just as bad as Shiro).

"True, though I don't make boots and shoes, I order them from another shop, that is out of my ability range, and while Trisha deals with a lot of things, she doesn't make them neither. So you are right about that, you can wait until you go, but you do need at least one good pair of each, just so you're not walking barefooted...."

He hummed at this and then added.

"Though both your mother and sister like doing that well enough."

Andarien wrinkled his nose. "I don't like going in my bare feet," he said quietly. "It hurts and I have to watch where I'm stepping instead of being able to look around at things."

He respected his mother and sister for their preferences, but he had preferences of his own.

Helen chuckled, he had always figured it was just one of those things that passed from mother to daughter because his mother was like that too.

"Fair enough, I'll see about getting at least those shoe replacements by tomorrow, but if you need boots, you'll have to borrow."

He could probably get one, but when they're in Spring instead of Fall, getting boots would be more difficult.

"Okay," Andarien agreed. "We should measure me now, then, so you can get started so you don't have to work really late, okay?"

He didn't want Helen to have to work harder than absolutely necessary, and as far as he was concerned, the sooner a job was started, the sooner it would be finished.

Helen nodded in agreement, the sooner he did this, the sooner he could finish everything off.

"Let's do that then," and he got out his measuring tape.

It took a while to re-measure everything, especially since he wanted to be able to double check all the clothing he had set aside of Andarien to make sure they fit properly.

After a while, there was a knock at the door, and Earendil poked his head in.

"How's it going in here?" he asked, stepping inside. He grinned widely when he saw Andarien's clothes. "Very nice!" he grinned. "I like it. Helen, you are very talented."

"It's really comfy, too," Andarien grinned, "except that the pants are too small but Uncle Helen is going to make me some new ones so I can wear that instead of this pair."

"Why thank you," Helen smiled brightly.

He was glad that Earendil did, it was a very different style of clothing but it seemed to suit Andarien just fine.

"As I was telling Andarien, I will at least get him a new pair of pants before the day is out so he won't be too uncomfortable, and I'll have the rest of the clothes ready before you all leave."
PostPosted: Tue Jul 31, 2012 9:02 pm

Earendil shook his head incredulously. "I don't know how you'll do it, but if you say you can, I believe you," he told Helen. "And thank you. I don't know what we'd do without you."

True to Helen's word, by the afternoon Andarien had pants that fit him, and by the time they were preparing to leave the next day Andarien had multiple outfits ready for him to wear as well as a new pair of hardy leather shoes that fit. By this time, Andarien had recovered from his growth and learned how to button buttons and how to tie his shoelaces and string tie. Overall, he was quite proud of his new clothes.

"Where are we going?" he asked his parents as they brought their bags and his chest to the portal room. "Borderlands or Tor Karad?"

Eon was following after Andarien, but was also being careful to stay out of his way so that he wouldn't get stepped on.

Lin had taken a while to pack up, with the help of her family they had given her raw goods to trade in case she would need to with promises to bring back something some of her siblings wanted.

Gaia was great, but when there were some things they made from scratch there were better things in the places Lin traveled. Besides, who knew what the family would find.

"We're heading to Tor Karad I believe..." she looked to Earendil for confirmation.

Miyuki was the last behind them, as she was talking to her grandfather Donovan. Donovan handed her some blank scrolls and told her quietly that she could use them once she had an idea of what to use them for. As far as information went, scrolls weren't as good as books, but for runes, scrolls could hold far larger rune arrays and be opened quickly while still being somewhat light.

That or she could make some nice wall scroll paintings.

Miyuki put them away and thanked him. She was going to have a lot to keep her busy, between the egg she still carried with her and all the new lessons she was to learn on her own.

Andarien had placed his Ponyta egg, puzzle box, and his various gear kits into his chest, so that he had nothing but his chest to carry. He would worry about hatching the Ponyta once they had some time on their hands to take proper care of it.

"Tor Karad," Earendil agreed, carrying his own bag. "Mother will be quite happy to see us for a longer period of time while we send out our messages and wait for the rest of the group to arrive. And who knows where they might be? We know for certain Wren will have to come from the Westland, most of the others will be coming from the Borderlands ..."

He chuckled softly. "Mother will be thrilled."

"Do you think Uncle Daeron and Iorlas got married yet?" Andarien asked brightly, his eyes sparkling even behind the lenses of his goggles.

"Hmm... that's a good question," Lin murmured thoughtfully.

With the time difference anything was possible, she certainly wouldn't except them to wait on them.

"I guess we'll see once we get there," she grinned.

"This is certainly going to be interesting..." Ryu commented from the doorway.

In coming were the mer twins and Nadia. They had wanted to come along because they wanted to know what the ocean was like. Mers were said to originally come from an ocean, but they had never been to an ocean before.

Naida leaped forward and tackled Miyuki who nearly fell over since Naida was much, taller than her.

"Oi! You're heavy," Miyuki pouted.

Feng looked around, "Where's the neko trio?"

"Ura won't be coming," Earendil spoke up, "but Shiro and Kaito should be here any time."

Even as the words left his mouth, the two nekos in question joined the others in the portal room.

"Sorry we're late," Shiro apologized, carrying his bag on his back. "Kaito-"

"-slept in," Kaito interrupted, traces of a growl in his voice. "You don't have to bug me about it. Yesterday was really long for me."

Lin was about to ask what Kaito was doing yesterday when she realized with Kaito and Shiro traveling with them for the whole trip (unlike Feng, Ryu and Naida), there was probably a lot they had to prepare for.

"So you all have everything?" Kara asked.

Both she and Donovan were there to see them all off. Since they wouldn't see some of them for months or in even a year.
