------------------------ ((Hey, we all get distracted by shiny things! XD)) Simply nodding to Lavan's concise answer, the young traveler returned his attention to the task before him. As the two Devil Rides swerved around him, Kino decided to take Lavan on his word and left the monsters up to the two men; Saren's enthusiasm gave him the feeling that the odd man was a bit more than capable. Something also told Kino that the two worked quite well together. So, trusting in them, Kino focused on the Custom Sweeper threatening him those guns. The threat turn into action as the metal monster opened fire. The range was pretty point blank; the Custom Sweeper had a confident look on his face, awaiting his swiss cheese. What he got was a surprise- Kino ducked under the Sweeper, blade drawn, and lunged forward digging under the beast's chin. In his safety behind the guns, Kino shifted his footing and raised a foot to kick to the monster off of his blade. Launched several meters away, the monster picked itself up stared Kino down. "See, big dumb monsters. No big deal!" He called out behind him to Lavan and Saren, not yet bothering to check on their situation. The odd samurai did not want to offend by assisting two grown men that he'd just met. But, the Custom Sweeper on the other hand, was something else. Infuriated by the comment, it readied its weapons with a vicious expression. ------------------------

Saren "Embyr" Fuliside & Lavan "Firestorm" Chitward As they were lining up for another charge at the pair, one of the two Devil Rides' engines suddenly let out a loud cough and then a grinding noise as it slowed to a halt just behind the sweeper, wisps of smoke coming from it's chassis as it slid to a stop. The other one, heedless of it's companions fate, charged Lavan, eliciting nearly the exact same result as last time, including Lavan falling off again, only this time managing to land on his feet. It was as the Devil Ride looped around with Lavan watching it angrily that Saren spoke. "We both know what you want to do Lavan. So do it." He said. Lavan glanced at Saren, opening his mouth to say something. "Don't try to deny it. Remember I can feel the heat too." He said. It probably sounded strange to Kino, but it made sense to Lavan. After a moment he looked at the closing Devil Ride. As it passed the Custom Sweeper, there was what felt like a dull thud as it's casing swelled, fire coming out of the cracks for a moment, before it stopped, smoke flowing out instead as the machine shut down. Lavan shut his eyes right after the flames came out, a grimace on his face as the air around him heated up a few degree's as well.

"...So yeah... We're recruiting." Bainz sighed, having explained..everything he knew about the Phantas Magoria Mystici Praefectorum. It looked as though Clyde was only listening. He was trying not to mention girls of any kind. "...With everything that might happen, uhm... We could use your help, Clyde." "...Why me?" Clyde's question was akin into a cold whisper. He had really been this drained since Calico had called him 'darling'? "...Zola's probably a better guy for the job... Hell, he's better at everything.." "He's busy trying to build a bakery." Clyde almost jumped. His eyes widened slowly. "...Bainz.. What?" "Yeah, I don't get it either... Maybe it was something I had to be there for? Ugh, this is why Dreamancers don't have otherworldly friends..." Bainz sighed, smiling wryly. "See, we... Ah, I'll explain later. Anyway, you coming or not?" Clyde couldn't believe that. Zola was carrying the collective goal of themselves, Calico and Rio? How was that possible? No... Why wasn't Clyde helping him? "....Yeah...Just let me get back up, okay?"

At the same time the attack on midgar was happening, another group of the robots had started to descend from the sky from above the clouds in a large ship. The ship had a large cargo of bio waste that had been the run off from their home base, perfect for their current task. On the ship their leader chuckled as he gazed to the ground bellow. bellow them was a forest though to him it was an eye sore. "Not enough gleaming metal here to call a place of beauty, pity though it'll be some time before in does gleam with beauty with the silver sheen of metal" and after those words the tank on the ship began to open up and large amount of waste well onto the forest bellow, the waste was so acidic it ate at the trees, the grass, even the wildlife seemed to melt away to the acid like water that fell from the ship and above the Pegasus like robot laughed madly at the site bellow.

Shortly after the robots began destroying the forest near Junon, a different one then that which hosted Mornelith's grove, A single figure in a tight red shirt and loose brown trousers, was approaching the area. The figure stopped, eyes raising to the ship above, catlike ears twitching. "What is all this..." He asked himself quietly, before abruptly raising an arm. Suddenly the spread of the acidic bio waste stopped dead as it seemed to hit a wall, although nothing was there, nor would any non-magical sensors notice anything different. It was like a wall had been there the whole time, even though there was no solid object stopping the waste, just air. The man let his arm fall, watching quietly from well away to observe.

Shortly after the decent of the acid had halted, many of the robots detected a life sign other then the animals that lived there. The Pegasus like robot looked to the sensor and smirked "I see, does this thing have strange powers like Weil detailed us before we began this mission" he wondered slightly out loud, he then looked over to some of his troops and smirked "send in the air brigade, snuff it out and drop bombs bellow, set fire to the acid and whatever is blocking it. I want to clear this area today, not tomorrow, today" and just like that the bay hatches on the ship opened up and a large group of the robots with ion propelled jetpacks took to the sky then descended down towards the life sign bellow and found the figure and each pointed their guns at it primed to fire at the slightest movement. Meanwhile the ship above opened the bombing hatches and dropped a heavy pay load of napalm bombs lighting the acid ablaze in a purplish hue, then other bombs began to drop to try and break the obstruction

While the ship commander was busy talking to himself and giving orders, the man below was noticing some interesting things. He could feel all the energy of the deaths of the things flowing, but rather then do what he was familiar with magic energy doing, it seemed to be sinking, sinking down through the very rock. Then, suddenly, it merged with a massive flow of power, something so much more massive then anything he had ever seen before. Something like this had never been hinted at existing back on his world, so he had no idea what this was or what it might be capable of doing. And considering who he was, that would be a terrifying prospect to those who knew him, simply because of the forces he had once wielded and could again. The man couldn't sense the robot's coming from the ship above, so the first he knew of them was the humming of their jetpacks as they closed in. The cat-like man got an irritated look on his face as his defenses began coming up, a process invisible to the mundane non-magic users of the world, although the robots sensors might have noticed slight flickers on other spectrum's of light as the defenses first came up that vanished almost immediately. Nothing was visible on any normal viewing spectrum to show the seven-layered defense he had up, a technique completely stolen from his mortal foes. Insult them all he could, those Hawkbrothers had known how to quickly make some very effective shields. The cat-man began to raise his hands and open his mouth to say something, which of course caused the robots to fire, since he had moved. Most of the bullets slid off to the side or ricocheted for a moment, then in the other light spectrum's the air around the man got heavily distorted for a moment before fading back to normal. then all the bullets were starting to just stop dead as soon as they got near him, like they had hit a wall. Little did the robot commander above know, but the bombs he was dropping on the obstruction below were actually making his predicament worse. For some reason, as the bombs hit the obstruction, the napalm fire burned hotter and hotter, slowly scorching away more and more of the bio waste it had lit on fire. The cat-figure suddenly conjured up what looked like a thin crystalline shard of ice the size of a large sword. That shard suddenly launched violently and quickly away from him towards one of the robots, tracking any evasions it tried to make with laser precision, as it was guided and propelled by magic, so it could perform any and all maneuvers it needed to hit a dodging target. And, as a construct of pure magic, bullets and other non-magical attacks and defenses wouldn't affect the shard in any way. This form of magic was like no other practiced anywhere on Gaia, this was completely new magic from a totally different world, and thus, didn't need to obey the rules of Gaia's Materia-based magics. ((OOC: Hope this is alright. This character is actually a powerful mage and charismatic speaker, but in exchange he's pretty much useless at most everything else XD Also, I like your new outfit for your Avi.))

As soon as the creature tried to speak to them, the robots began to open fire on him, though they'ed son find out that he had a special defense set up around him and a good chuck of their shots just bounced off, though they wouldn't stop firing upon him till they where put out of commission, which a good chunk of them where as the strange blades cut them down. The leader of the robots glared at a screen that showed what one of the robots was able to see then sighed as he regained his cool "Take all cannon priorities and take aim on that thing, load the thunder cannon and make sure it's charged to full power, if that doesn't work...ready the the last resort." soon the main cannon bays began to close and the ship turned around, a large shutter began to rise up and a large cannon began to appear from it, electricity arced from the metals of the cannon, metals that where never seen in this world, soon the bolts began to arc in a more chaotic way and a lot faster, soon the cannon glew in a yellow hue then it fired. A large stream of pure electric force made it's way toward the creature bellow, even if it's defenses could hold against it the ground around it would be destroyed around him, most of it would only have ash remaining from the high voltage of the cannon, though it wasn't magic or anything, more or less a super charged static cannon, so chances where good thing creatures defenses would hold just fine. ((If I'm understanding right he should be fine since it's not a magical attack, hope I did understand it lol))

While the assualt wasn't inherently magical, it's opponent's particular defense was focused against physical damage in it's basic form of kinetic force rather then electrical-plasma force. However, thanks to a lack of knowledge on the robot commanders part, it had provided the cat-person with both a problem AND a solution. Since it had taken so long between the first robot the man had spotted to now, he had had plenty of time to set up his complete defense net. So when the electric bolt launched at him, right on impact several strange things started happening. As the bolt hit, the napalm fire on the bio waste got severely larger and brighter, burning a bright blowtorch white for a moment before cooling enough to go back to red-orange. The lightning got close to the man, but then seemed to shunt aside, most of it breaking around some kind of invisible dome, with only the energy that hit dead on actually fully impacting, and that energy was just dissipated. This left basically a cone shape behind the man that had been totally leveled with scorches all around him. As the static and smoke cleared, the man was looking thoughtfully up at the cannon. Was that some form of self-contained magical holding device that powered that attack? There was no energy draw... The man was thinking to himself. That was bad for the enemy though. Earlier the man had been curious, seeing what was going, then he had been attacked and retaliated. Now however, he wanted something out of this fight. Now he might actually start fighting. And since the enemy seemed to enjoy lightning so much... The mans hand blazed a golden yellow that grew to white as he smiled. He was actually already enjoying himself, he hadn't had the grasp of so much magic in a very long time. This world was so much more abundant with it, and that was just what he could see. Whatever that massive flow deep down below was, that was his new big project. But for now, even the magic on the surface was a massive amount of power to the man. The man raised his hand, and suddenly a massive bolt of what looked less like the electric force the cannon had fired and a lot more like a bolt of pure lightning shot out, zigging and zagging just like real lightning to slam into a random point on the hull. This wasn't some measly little Bolt spell lightning strike either. This strike actually hit with the force and raw power of a natural lightning strike, something far more devastating on a very very local scale then any Bolt spell. Well, not quite. It had that much power when leaving the mans hand, but thanks to easily explainable science, it lost about eight percent of its power between points. A huge energy loss, but unfortunately that was still a lot of electricity. Whether the ship's hull and systems would be able to withstand the bolt without something frying was something the man never even thought about. With the way the man had been attacking, the enemy might just think that he wasn't using the attacks he wanted, but reciprocating. After all, when he had been shot at by machine guns, he had sent out kinetic objects in return, or that was how they would appear without some study of the data. And now, when that lightning cannon had hit his defense, he had responded with electricity in kind, returning fire with a bolt of actual lightning, the only difference between it and the kind mother nature generating being that it had gone from his hand rather then ion discharge from the clouds. (Yes, the science is totally easily explainable XD Basically the way lightning works naturally, equalizing energy between places, wasn't really present here, so it lost lots of power, because yes, that was basically a summoned on command bolt of legitimate lightning XD)

The Pegasus robot slammed his arm on a control panel as the dust cleared and the creature was still standing, his rage was feared by his crew, but what they feared more was the attack the strange creature had launched towards theirs ship, though the general sighed as he hit a switch that activated a pulse shield that would absorb the lightning to a point, though the remainder damaged the left wing of the ship breaking it's stability. "Forget the stability" he said as he glared at on of the robots reaching for the console that would send power to the other wing. He glared to the screen then sighed "Load the test cannon with that stuff we stole from those Pirates, Prepare the last resort. I know lord weil would of wanted us to test this eventually, now is the time." Meanwhile the ship would just tilt to the right as flames consumed the left wing. It was soon apparent that a new cannon began to replace the thunder cannon. In it's place something that resembled the sister ray appeared. A large barreled cannon appeared from the ship and pointed to the figure bellow. "Did you load up all of the materia we stole? Good fire the Magic cannon!" he yelled. it didn't take long for the cannon to fire off a shot of pure magic down toward the figure, and it didn't take long for the crew of the ship to see the downside of the cannon. It had drained all of the ships power and it began to fall from the sky. The general sighed then glared to the crew "Make sure this ship is salvageable when I return, I'm going to see what remains of our pest, and eliminate him if I must" he said before he opened a bay door and jumped out and opened his wings, his arms being replaced by plasma blades he flew in the general direction of the creature to see just what the magic cannon was capable of, and if it was a weapon worth developing.

The man didn't seem particularly impressed, by either the ship or the new cannon it was sprouting. If it couldn't take one little lightning bolt but could use artificial magic or whatever it had done, then whoever had designed it probably hadn't been consulting with any mage worth bothering with. And so he did't take any precautions to reinforce his magical defenses, something that turned out to be a tad problematic. As the massive Materia Cannon fired and hit the barrier, the man realized his mistake. It wasn't anything lethal, far from it, but it was an error in his judgement. As the blast of magic hit his barrier, the napalm fire blazed intensely bright, lighting up the horizon for miles like a sunrise before the flames suddenly died mere moments after. As the man had been shunting energy to that fire, when it went out the rest slammed directly into his barrier. This shattered several layers of his defense before hitting his reflective reaction layer. This layer absorbed energy, feeding it into the barrier, which absorbed more and fed it back, repeating the process. It was no insurmountable barrier, but it required precision, knowledge, and skill to beat that no machine could generate. At least that was how the man perceived it, and in this case he was right. There was no way that cannon could bypass this barrier and with the powers the man was drawing from nothing short of Gaia's Holy would be able to brute force past this barrier. Of course the barrier literally basically didn't exist against non-magical attacks, but that was what the entire defense was for. The air around the man glowed green for a moment as the last of the magic hit it, the plants around him that hadn't been killed seemed to swell and glow a pleasant green. as the glow faded from around the man an instant later, it did from the plants as well, leaving them swelled to several times there size, the little grass blades now up to the man's waist. This was because the magic reinforcing the barrier dissipated away as the input stopped, since the man didn't want to put forth the effort to hold the barrier at that level. He idly reassembled some of the destroyed layers as the enemy commander exited his craft. Finally. The man thinks, pausing his mostly reconstructed defenses. Maybe this one wouldn't be another mindless thing intent on attacking him like those piles of metal around him had been. (Sorry if this seems weird. I'm working on resolving some conflict with the character personality xD Anyways, if you get curious about how this guys magic and such works, feel free to ask. I't would be easier to respond in a dedicated post then try to mix it in with actual posting XD)

The Pegasus robot gazed at the creature below him then sighed "So...you use this thing called magic, correct?" he questioned it from above only giving a short time to respond before he began to talk again "By orders of my lord, I'm to clear this land for a new production facility, and your making my job a pain, go run off to the many cities the other generals are taking care of and die there, I've already wasted much time and resources dealing with you and I need to get this job done so I can move on to the next" he stated firmly before charging his plasma blades before the creature, these being far from magic and more meant for piercing the hard metallic hides of the robots and repliods of his world "If you wish to continue to be a annoyance I'll cut you down here and now and show you what true terror lord weil has allowed me to bring on this world." he said before taking a fighting stance with his blades fully charged to maximum which had enough strength to cut into even the hull of his own ship

The man didn't even bother to respond when the flying robot commander asked if he was using magic. It was pretty obvious to him, nothing he had seen done by anything besides magic could replicate the acts he had just performed. After the robot commander had finished talking and assumed a fighting stance, the man had crossed his arms, waiting silently for him to finish. "So, you serve a being named Weil, and now you seem to think your meager technology will intimidate me into backing down." The man said in response, slathering enough contempt on the word technology to make a sandwich from. It was fairly clear he didn't think of it highly at all. "Well, how about I give you a new offer. I could use people, and you seem to be stronger then a lot of the people I usually get a chance to talk to around here." Not that that was saying much, he preferred to avoid getting into touch with actually strong people without enough backup's to kill an entire city with. Which actually spoke of just how he regarded this opponent quite neatly. "Join me and leave this Weil, and I will let you live, even after these pathetic attempts to kill me." The man said, and his tone implied he didn't expect the robot to consider for even a moment. While the robot might assume he thought that it would decline, he actually meant the opposite. Whoever this Weil figure was, this man considered himself far superior to anybody that relied on 'technology'. This commander should be smart enough to see that he was clearly superior and agree to his generous offer without hesitation. But of course as a backup plan, he had prepared to send a massivly strong wind gust into the thing, enough to lift a car without much trouble, so it would lift even an armored human with ease and hurl him very far. Along with the gust he was ready to just raise a wall of dirt between them. He had been taken out by people with swords before, a mistake he didn't intend to repeat. And to top it all, he had the energy for both several eldritch bolts and another lightning bolt already gathered invisibly, so he could cast them even faster then before. And thanks to the amazing way this planets magic was, there was energy for all of this! After the world-damaging disaster on his home-world magical energy had been very unavailable, the energy gathering in lines and pools rather then existing equally everywhere as ambient power. This world's atmosphere was filled with all the energy the man had once wielded, the power he had forged a nation from. (So he doesn't actually know what a robot is, so he doesn't know that the wind gust might not work well. The earth wall is just a stalling maneuver to keep the guy from hitting his magic barrier until he can fire attack spells in return. As for the phisical defense barrier, the attack would breach it, but it would still be deflected somewhat so it wouldn't hit him, although it would come close. Just an FYI ^^)

He smirked at the man, he could tell how serious he was with his offer by just scanning his vocal pattern. Though it didn't interest him in the slightest all he cared about was fulfilling his mission and this thing was in his way "You don't seem to have much faith in technology, well we do indeed come from two different worlds, your offer sounds...well lets not mince words I won't accept I serve lord Weil. I'll come out of her alive because your just one man...and I have an army with me! Boys lets go!" he yelled out as soon from the crashed ship piled out a large number of the forces charging toward the man most of them firing their guns when their commander flew higher into the air then charged his blades then shot down a bolt of pure plasma down to him. No matter how much magic this thing had, it couldn't take a full army on by it's self...though maybe two could take this army on Gun shots could be heard from a far distance behind the man and four rifle shots zoomed by him taking out rows of the robots, behind the man now was a young girl clad in black and red, a red hood obscured her face, though she soon took the hood off exposing her face and her silver eyes. Her gun was red in hue and soon transformed into a large sythe. She gave the man a thumbs up as if to say I've got you covered or go ahead and fight your battle.

The man shrugged when the enemy commander turned down his offer. "No matter to me if you refuse, it's your life your throwing away." He said. It was true, he had no faith in technology, anything that had ever been actually impressive had always been pure magic or technology hybridized with magic. "You think your army of technological things is enough to stop me? Now we know who has no faith." He said after the thing called it's allies, before all the shooting started. That few second gap saw shimmering around him as he erected a new defense barrier, and then the bullets started flying. However, many of them ended up whizzing right by, with the rest that were on target stopping dead against the physical defense field and fell to the ground. Even as it happened, the man was drawing together more power, to start blasting both the oncoming army and the commander that had taken to the air. But then he paused, glancing off to the side as though he had noticed something. Just as he looked, the gunfire from behind started, bullets tearing past him and into the enemy lines. Then the red-clothed woman appeared behind him, as her strange thing in her hand transformed into a large scythe. Then she threw a thumbs up at him. He looked for a second, before letting a tiny smile and nod go. The air around her shimmered for a moment as he used a bit of his gathered energy to place a deflection spell on her. Back on his world, that was enough to stop even the most determined of crossbow bolts dead, but whatever these weapons were had more punch then that. So it would slow down incoming shots to her main body, and anything that would hit limbs or just skim her would be turned to fly past her harmlessly. Not flawless of course, but the defenses around him were a bit jury-rigged at the moment, and physical attacks wouldn't go through either direction. This one would allow her attacks through unimpeded and still provide it's protection. He would leave her with that to deal with the attacking army of robots, they weren't strong enough to give her too much trouble he assumed, there were just a lot of them. He turned towards the commander and the oncoming attack from it, sweeping a hand around. Then it was like a wall just slammed into the attack, blowing the plasma's cohesion as it was slammed sideways and with it, the charge, causing it to fizzle away. "You seem very fond of this pseudo-magic that your using." The man commented at the robot, gathering more energy into coherent lightning, and sending the bolt at the metallic commander. He didn't even need to guide it much, the lightning would go after the metal on it's own, it just needed a little nudging.
