"Alright I'll be right back with some good eats." Jay said smiling as he walked back towards the kitchen. After several minutes Jay returned holding a rather large plater of diffrent kinds of food. "Here you go. I hope you like it." He said smiling as he slid the tray through the food slote and placed it onto the small table in her cage.

 "Thank you." Maria said politely as she began to eat not worrying about eating daintily. She hadn't been fed a proper meal in a long time and she was quite hungry. At least I'll have my strength back when I leave here.

"You're very welcome Maria." Jay said smiling softly and returned to his station behind the counter and began filling out some papers. He sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Lurana couldn't already be making her way back so soon, could she?" He whispered to himself and sighed as a shiver crawled down his back. Jay hatted it when that happened and what made him mate it even more is when he knew that she could control it....

Once Maria had finished eating she studied her cage more closely, although distracted by the bed. It was so inviting, especially since sleep had been eluding her. She was sure Jay wouldn't mind if she took a little nap. Now she just had to wait, like a dog in a kennel. Actually that was almost exactly her situation. Looking from Jay back to the bed one last time she got comfortable and gently closed her eyes, drifting into a land of freedom.

Jay glanced over at Maria as she laid down on the pile of huge pillows and smiled. He slowly walked over and knelt by her cage. He watched as she fell into the rem sleep and her breathing became steady. He quietly opened her cage door and gently drapped a light blanket over her body. It was time he too took a rest. Jay closed her door, turned the sign on the shop's door to 'CLOSED', locked it and then walked towards the back of the shop to his own small room where he could take a rest. In the room was nothing but a cot and a dresser. His real room was up stairs but he threw this together for days like this when all he needed was a nap. Before laying his head down onto the cot's small pillow he glanced at his watch, 9:48 pm. Jay sighed as he settled down for the night.
Hours passed and the new day greeted them with the gentle sound of rain hitting the roof and puddles out side. Jay opened his eyes and stretched. "Man... I wish I wasn't so lazy." He chuckled as he looked at his watch, 7:24 am. "Time to open up..." Jay yawned and gave a mighty stretch as his back cracked he glared down at the cot, "I blame you for that." He chuckled as he walked out of the room and looked around the shop. Most of the companions still slept soundly in their cages. Jay smiled softly and walked over to the shops door and flipped the sign to open as he unlocked the door.

Hearing the sound of Jay's footsteps Maria opened her eyes and slowly sat up yawning. She always woke early to avoid any surprises. She enjoyed the sound of the rain, natures way of washing away all the the negativity from the previous day. Looking over to Jay she smiled slightly even if he didn't see it. "Good morning"

"Hm? Oh good morning Maria." Jay said smiling warmly and made his way over to her, "Would you like me to make you breakfast?" He asked smiling down at her.

"Yes please. What ever is easiest." Maria replied happily. She wasn't quite used to someone cooking for her again but she jumped at the chance. Walking towards the cage door Maria peered out across the shop in the dim gray lighting. It didn't seem like anyone else was awake. "How many other pets are here?" She asked only seeing the bars and darkness of the other cages.

Leva slipped out of her lamp in Jay's pocket, "I miss anything?" She asked as she drifted to his shoulder, feeling like being thumb sized again. After the kids had left she'd wanted some time alone to think. After a few hours she was still a bit down. Part of a family, huh? She'd heard that so many times before, only to wake up in another man's possession after a yard sale. Everyone lies, and genies all around the world knew and accepted this fact. Nothing lasts forever but their curse.

"Well look who decided to grace us with her presence." Jay chuckled as he stood at the stove preparing everyone's breakfast. "Well we have a new girl in. She seems to be adjusting well..." Jay looked down at her small form and gently stroked his finger under her chin. "Are you hungry?"

Leva stuck out her tongue as Jay stroked her chin, "Master forgets that genies do not need to eat." She said with a bow of her head, "Otherwise years in a lamp waiting for a master to free one's self would be rather problematic." She explained, "But thank you anyway." She sighed and reclined on Jay's neck, feeling the warm pulse of his vein beneath her, "So, master, what's the new girl's name?"

Maria saw Leva suddenly appear with her own eyes but still was dumbfounded by it. Did she just. . . . .did she just appear out of nowhere? She thought starring at Jay's shoulder. She knew that there were other creatures out there but this was the first on that she had seen. Calm down and go wait for your breakfast Maria told herself as she walked back to the pillows and waited quietly in the slight darkness of her cage.
