What you know about the clan/bl: Involves some sort of toxic smoke, and using it for techniques and transformation.
Rp Sample:
"Hey you, stop there!" a voice shouted out. The figure walked on, a hood pulled low over his eyes. It was hard to tell anything about the figure other than it was obviously male. The face was obscured, and the huge trench coat the figure wore obscured the body. One of the guards that yelled at the figure raised his katana. "I said stop!" he shouted. The figure kept walking. Pissed, the guard stepped forward and slashed through the figure. It exploded into a cloud of smoke, The smoke was cloying, and the guard tried to block it out, but he breathed in too much. He coughed and hacked, falling back. The other guard walked over to help and he too breathed in the smoke. Within minutes the two lay dead.

The same figure stepped out from behind a tree, a mischievous smile on his face. A clever one-liner rested upon his lips, but he decided against it. It wasn't the time, nor the place, for such silliness. No, he had a job. And he always had the chance to spout off one after killing his target.
He put his hands together in the form of a few handseals. He mumbled the words to his technique, and disappeared into a puff of smoke. He'd been here many times before, so he knew how to get in. He could use this technique because he knew this hallway intimately. He appeared on the other side in a puff of smoke. The two inner guards turned in surprise but before they could attack the figure that formed in front of them, blades stabbed their neck, a pair of kunai in the figure's hands. He slid them into his belt and kept walking.

As the figure walked, he shed his trench coat, wisps of smoke curling off his body as he walked down the hallway. He took a right turn, then a left, standing in front of a huge guard, a massive sword in his hands. "You..." the guard said. "Me." the figure said with a mischievous grin. The sword swung down and sliced through the figure. The figure laughed. "Such violence." the figure said. He formed back to normal and his kunai came out quickly, impaling the guard through the chest. The second one came quickly and speared the guard through the throat.


The figure threw open the doors, watching with delight as his target jumped up in fear from his desk. "Hey! You miss me?" the figure asked. The man took out a knife and threw it at the figure, who dodged it. "Not nice." the figure tutted. He ran forward as the man tried to draw a second knife. The figure vaulted over the desk and the man raised his knife, expecting the figure to land in front of him. Instead the figure landed behind him, picking up a vase from a pedestal. "My employer wants this." he commented. "Who's your employer?" the man asked, having wheeled around to face the figure. The figure suddenly threw the vase at the man, the ceramic shattering in his face. The figure grabbed his fallen knife and stabbed the man through the chest six times. "I am. And I'm over that vase." he said as he left. He hesitated at the door. <********, forgot my clever one liner."

What you know about the clan/bl: Uses both Wind and Water chakra to create and control Ice and snow.
Rp Sample: Genshi sat in some decrepit pub on the edge of forever, sipping the first stout of his life. It was bitter on his tongue and he couldn't help but cough as he brought the glass from his lips. A laugh came from the corner of the room, a figure dressed in a dark brown robe, all his features covered from sight, save for his thick brown beard and long pipe. The smoke wafted high through the rafters, and each time he puffed it, his black eyes shown brightly.

The figure spoke softly, but was the only other man this far up the mountainside so his voice traveled in the cold air,"Ya know...," he'd a strange accent Genshi couldn't place,"They've coolers if ya fancy yourself somethin a bit more... effeminate." The young shinobi was like most, hot under the collar and ready to prove himself to the world, and in a fit of anger threw the pint glass towards the figure. He didn't seem to notice, the glass almsot seemed to just slide into his out stretched hand. The figure just back and sipped it for a moment as Genshi looked on thinking,"What the hell is wrong with this guy?"

Not a second after the man had put away the last of the beverage, the cloaked ninja lept at Genshi, his hands some strange sort of paw. Genshi slipped back in his chair, knocked glasses of different liquids over himself and between the two ninja, and in an instant and with one quick movement of his hand, the liquid solidified into ice. Murky and alcoholic ice, but ice none the less. The figure wasn't expecting that at all, smashing threw the ice and missing Genshi completely. He caught himself on his paws and quickly flipped himself up and over, very stylishly I might add, but Genshi was out the door and into the snow.

The young ninja ran quickly, fully realizing the error of his ways. He looked over his shoulder to see if the man was coming, but the path behind him was clear, just a pub and a beautiful snow capped mountain. He pushed his glasses up on his nose, pleased with himself. This was before he turned back around to see the figure burst forth from what seemed to be thin air, long wisps of black, ruby and tan energy wafting about him as he popped from nowhere. His staff high and aimed to come down at Genshi's head. The younger man rolled to the side,the staff smashing down not a moment later, snow flying high above the older in a V formation. This gave Genshi an idea, quickly he commanded the snow to change direction and come right back down onto the figure.

The strange being was crushed beneath a snowdrift the size of a small minivan, with Genshi packing it down for safety before he continued on his way.

He didn't make it half a mile before the figure burst forth in a similar matter, but this time appeared further down the road. Genshi's eyes narrowed and he couldn't help but think to himself,"OH HELLZ NAH!" He lifted his hand in a seal as he ran forward, large shards of ice appearing around him as he ran forward quickly. The icicles flew towards the figure as Genshi screamed,"Why won't you fraking die?!?!?!" Several of the shards torn into the man's billowing robes and planted themselves in the ground, rooting him in place. But for some reason the man didn't really seem too troubled about it, now looking towards Genshi as he ran, still one icicle to deliver the killing blow.

The icy talon sank deep into the cloaked man. The warth of his life seeping out and down the shard that pierced him.Genshi stopped, looking at the man; his lips didn't quiver, nor was his body growing any more limp. This had to be the oddest man he'd ever met, even in death he was strange. Genshi had to see who he was, lifting up the hood of the cloaked man to reveal a paper bomb, the tag now burning. He looked down as he made a sign to slide back wards quickly, the liquid didn't look like blood at all... it was black... and foamed when it fit the ground?
The thing exploded, ice and beer going everywhere. Water and alcohol splattered Genshi as she shielded his eyes from the blast with his hands. He sighed, knowing...yep... he was stil standing there.

Once more the crazy b*****d stood before him, but this time help a pint glass of the same dark stout he'd thrown at the man earlier. Genshi looked between the glass and the cloaked face apprehensively, not sure to trust him or not. He then resovled himself to his fate, reaching out and taking the beverage. The man made a motion for him to toss it back, something Genshi wasn't excited about. He swallowed hard and threw it back, chugging is little heart out. Tears welled up in his eyes as the bitter liquid ran down his throat. It was warming and soothing, but so horrid! As the last drop slid down his gullet, Genshi just dropped the glass to the snow covered dirt, falling into a tiny crater reminiscent of itself.

The man just smiled and turned away, walking off into the snow. Genshi's eye twitched as he watched the man walk off, a long brown tail behind him."What the frak?", Genshi thought as he looked down into the snow and picked up a tiny lighter with a monkey face on it.

I believe you would be humping either Lament, Sosay, or Hinote's leg sir.

What you know about the clan/bl: By combining earth and lightning elements together the user can create dense crystals to use. The color of the crystal depends on the user's chakra color.
Rp Sample: ((Sorry about what happened before. I'm changing my mind on my Kekke Genkai as well. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and hassle I have caused. It wasn't my intention.))

Ketsue ducked his head as he heard a shuriken whiz past his ear. He spun around to face his new attacker. In front of him stood yet another mercenary after the bounty on his head. "Not another one, why can't you leave me in peace?" His question went unanswered as his attacker threw three kunai knives towards him and began to sprint around him. Ketsue followed the man with his eyes as he formed three crystal shuriken from the air and threw them towards the oncoming kunai knives. After Ketsue heard the sound of three seperate clangs of metal hitting crystal, he formed the proper hand signs for his crystal prison jutsu. Three identical crystal spikes sprang up from the ground around the mercenary, trapping him quite effectively. Ketsue leaped in to the air and began furiously making hand signs. After he finished he was directly over his attacker, who was looking up at him with a mortified look on his face. For good reason, Ketsue was now glowing a radiant blue color as an aura surrounded his entire body. Ketsue folded his arms across his chest and opened them, raining down a barrage of hundreds of crystal shuriken on his helpless opponent.

Landing on the other side of the crystal formation he created around the mercenary, Ketsue stood up and surveyed his handiwork. A satisfied look adorned his face as he confirmed that his attacker was dead. Another one dead, many more to come. As the light around Ketsue faded he visualized his camp in his mind. He had picked the spot the night before because it was only half a mile away from the town. He performed a single handsign and disappeared from the spot, leaving many tiny crystals in his place. They shone a deep blue as they reflected the light of the sun. Eventually the sparkles faded as the pieces fell to the ground.

Because if I don’t get back to you on this, most likely nobody ever will…

Quite simply, EVERYTHING is wrong with that sample. It’s impossible to find something you did right. It reads like a fact sheet of someone listing achievements in a recent battle, not a RP sample at all. Not to mention instead of showing what happened, you say the name of a technique, what it supposedly does, and don’t describe anything.

@Mondude: Simply put, this sample is rather depressing. It’s a bit better than before, but it still feels like you’re just putting information in front of me, and not really taking advantage of what the bloodline can do. And when I say that, I don’t mean it’s power in combat. I mean the literary possibilities of being able to melt into water, transform your limbs, and pretty much any water manipulation techniques the clan has. As one who considered taking the clan just for the possibilities it could give me as a writer, I can’t help but find the sample below par.

However, despite my personal feelings, you did show the workings of the bloodline fairly well, though your descriptions were lacking. I’ll give it a pass. Approved.
Also, never use numerical symbols in an RP post. That’s just a bad thing for a writer to do. Four is Four, not 4.

@Alth: I... I honestly don't know. It's an awesome sample, but the showings of the clan itself are few and far between. If you think you can keep up the quality of that sample in your regular posting however, I can let it go I think. Approved.
