Nathan followed her, not really noticing the man as he sat the little girl on his lap and thanked her for letting him in in a whisper. When he finally looked up, he found himself staring without knowing why. It'd been a long dry spell for dates or more, but that didn't normally mean anything, so why now...?

He continued reading without really noticing Nathan. His voice was soothing though there was something else being hidden that perhaps would be let out if it weren't for the fact that he was reading a children's book. If perhaps he was speaking more relevant word it would show. He continued for another few minutes until he finally finished the story. The children happily thanked him and then gave the man room to stand. He did and when he turned he finally noticed Nathan. For a moment, the other's face struck a bit of nostalgia, but he couldn't remember if and where the two had met. Regardless, he went over to introduce himself. "Forgive me if I took up a bit of your time. I've made it a habit to come read to these children ever since I moved to this city. My name is Yoru. That's all I really like to tell people the first time I meet them." His voice became a little less soothing and a little more monotone as he spoke with Nathan.

Nathan stretched out the hand with the puppet on it, captivated by the stranger without a clue why and thus forgetting the puppet altogether. He grinned a little at Yoru, the expression feeling weird to him - it was rare now to see such an expression on his face. Seven years, but felt like yesterday to him... "I usually like to start with, 'hi, I'm Nathan', too. Just a name and a smile - unless it's someone who's been rude, then I open with something less friendly."
With a nod, he noted the puppet and blushed as he removed it. "Sorry - you probably didn't want to greet Mao-uh, Martin. And you didn't encroach, I just like to make them smile before I come in if I can. Yeah. I'll stop being strange and leave now..." The Angel swung towards the door, the blush much worse by this point.

"No, that's quite alright. I can understand the want to bring these children at least a tiny bit of joy. I simply wish to help the children have a much better childhood than I did. I had to struggle on my own and I don't think anyone truly should go through that at a young age. However I must leave now so if you were coming in to spend time with them, please feel free to stay. Like I said, I apologize for taking up part of your time with them." Yoru walked past Nathan and left the room.

Nathan watched him leave, then started the story he had to tell with the puppets he'd brought along. Usually this calmed and distracted him, but today he couldn't stop thinking of the man who just left. He hadn't been remotely interested in anyone in seven years, so this was strange for him...
When he was done he hugged the children as a group and represented them with the sweets the nurses had okayed earlier.

On his way to work, Yoru tried to remember if he and Nathan had met somewhere before. The young man seemed very familiar, but he couldn't remember no matter how hard he tried. After a while, he decided to just let it go. He figured if it was that important, he would have remembered by now. Yoru took his place at the check out counter of the book store he worked at and watched the few young customers move about the store trying to find what they were looking for. Most of them were high school students, judging by their uniforms.

The Angel had changed homes and jobs once Mao was gone, by this point just having settled into a job at the nearest orphanage along with a supermarket job. He travelled around to various places on his days off, just talking to people.
Today he needed to take some new books to the children, so he called into the bookstore and headed straight for the children's books. He frowned, unsure which books they already had...

Yoru was an extremely dedicated worker, unlike Mo. Any orders that were phoned in he had read soon after. The afternoon was rather quiet so he simply sat alone tending to the store and helping the occasional customer that came by.

Nathan started to head for the checkout, but when he saw Yoru he froze and stared. Then he gave in and hid behind the shelves nearest to Yoru so he could watch him. He smiled as a small child went up...
"E-excuse me, where can I get a caterpillar book?" she asked, voice extra quiet.

Yoru looked down and gave the child a gentle smile. They would be at the front in the children's section. Would you like me to help you find it though or would you like to do it on your own?"

She squared her shoulders. "I can find it on my own, thank you." She deflated a little and gave him a sheepish look. "B-but if you want to come too, then you can..."
Nathan swallowed a chuckle and he urge to dash forward to help her as he continued to watch.

"Oh no. If the princess is able to do it on her own then there is no reason for an ugly old dragon like me to come along," Yoru replied playfully, though sounding fairly serious.

"B-but you're a prince, not a dwagon!" She protested, clasping her hands together and giving him large eyes and asking softly, "Please?"

Yoru stood up and walked out from behind the counter. "Alright, alright. I will help you princess." He picked up the small girl and placed her on his shoulders. He then walked with her to the front of the store and, knowing where everything was exactly, picked up a book and handed it to her. "Is that what you are looking for or is it another?"

Her eyes lit up as she was placed on his shoulders, and now she examined the book carefully for a moment before nodding. "This one's good..." she whispered. With a smile, she kissed his cheek and blushed. "Thank you..."
Nathan's heart melted as he watched. "Awww!" He made the sound quietly, but made sure to hide himself anyway.
