Hello there,
Yes, once the game goes live, there will definitely be an IP block.
I'm afraid you would have to obtain a US serial - Also you would not be able to play with your friend in the UK.
The best thing I can say is to keep an eye on Home | Aion™ Fantasy MMORPG to stay updated.

My guess is that the Russian company Innova bribed NCSoft in order to get us. I'm not gonna lie, we have quite a lot of Russian speakers, especially in the capital city area. But most of them are over 30 years old, those who still lived during the Russian occupation and what not.
So Russians see potential buyers here. But if they really did their homework, they'd see that we currently nearly hate them, and most of the "potential players" that in this is the younger crowd, don't know Russian for s**t and hate anything that has to do with it, with a passion.
