Jen watched Billy go, looks like she was going to the assembly after all. She waited till they were out of sight and packed up her bag. She had to follow them, there was no way he was in his right mind.

She had a vague notion that her cousin would be upset at her skipping but this was for a better cause, plus it now looked like they were going there anyway.

She stood up and walked calmly out of the boy's dorm following the small boy dragging the larger blond along for the ride. She paused every now and then to let them get ahead. She really just wanted to keep her distance.

*Chris and Wally backed away from Dr. Banner before there was an incident. They'd just have to track down one of the magic teachers after the assembly. Wally said he was going to sit with the football team and Chris was going to follow when he saw Cassie near them and the cheerleaders. That was until Bobby Drake grabbed him.*

Chris, my main man, my third baseman. Where ya goin?

I was just going to go over there and-

Sandsmark again? Chris. Chris, Chris, Chris. You're sitting with the baseball team. We don't mix with the bucketheads and the pompom heads.

Hey! Don't talk like that about-

And Sandsmark is okay and all but you should never have gotten involved with the skirtshakers. Baseball players date the lady athletes. Come on.

*Bobby grabbed Chris by the ear and dragged him to where the baseball team was sitting...and shoved him into a seat next to Lisa Snart.*

The assembly was now in full swing. The seats off-stage were filled with the students waiting on their own acknowledgments and those who simply wanted to be their for their friends. Onstage were all of the teachers, seated to the left and right of the main podium on center stage.

Achilles stood on the stage, appearing to look everywhere but out at the assembly full of students who were watching as he was being presented an award for having adapted from ancient Greek times to the modern culture as well as he had since the start of the school year. Head Mistress Diana shook his hand and he hurriedly left the stage, declining to say a word at the podium.

He maneuvered his way through the seats and found the empty spot next to his sister and plopped down, his cheeks flushed.

Diana then stepped back up to the speaker and said, "Up next, Professor D and his presentation."

The contraversial music professor stepped up to the podium and looked out to the students, "If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music. All good music resembles something. Good music stirs by its mysterious resemblance to the objects and feelings which motivated it. It is cruel, you know, that music should be so beautiful. It has the beauty of loneliness of pain: of strength and freedom. The beauty of disappointment and never-satisfied love. The cruel beauty of nature and everlasting beauty of monotony."

The students blinked at the cryptic statements being made but Prof D turned a smile.

"One students in particular exemplified the very meaning of music this year, perhaps more so than any other year before. I would like to call ... Hartley Rathaway ... to the stage."

Jennifer Kale accepted her award from Miss Harkness, for outstanding achievements in the field of sorcery. Having won the top spot in numerous magical duel competitions and even Dr. Stephen Strange touted her as a possible future Sorceress Supreme, she as this year's natural. She shook Miss Harkness's hand and stepped back off the stage.

Daimon Hellstorm then took the podium.

He said, "I am to pull a special double duty here this year, as I am both pleased to announce the young mage who has improved the most over the course of the school year, and am saddened as well as we will be bidding farewell to that very same student."

His eyes roamed the seats off of the stage until they fell upon their 'target".

He continued, "Billy Kaplan has been made an astonishing offer to continue his schooling in the sorcerous community of New Salem, where our own Miss Agatha Harkness originates from. But even more pleasing, is that the governing body of New Salem, has decreed young Mister Kaplan to be the heir to the prestigious title of New Salem's High Priest. Billy, please come up on stage."

Billy slowly stood up from his seat, looking more pale than ever ... and ill. He wiped his hands on his pant legs and slowly made his way toward the stage as the kids around him reacted to the news he would be leaving Hero High.

Cassie clapped as Billy went to accept his award. But she couldn't be heard over Donnie who was yelling out.

"FORGET THAT DORK! WE WANT KILLER!"

Cassie gave Donnie a dirty look.

" Sit down and quit being a jerk! Achilles will get his award when it is time right now it's Billy's turn. "


Donnie looked over at Cassie.

" WHAT?Am I suppose to care? BOO-HOO-HOO... LET THE DORK LEAVE. THE SOONER THE BETTER!"

Cassie then jabbed Donnie in the gut causing him to sit down and keep his mouth shut.

Okay Linda knew nothing about magic, nor did she know who the woman was on stage. Hell, Linda didn't even know who Billy was. But she knew a story when she saw one and this had front page written all over it. Linda immediately stood up.

" Excuse me! Linda Park here with the school paper. Who are you? and why are you doing this?"

A bold move... yes... a stupid move... probably. But Linda wasn't going to run from a story. Can't let little Miss Lois Lane have all the glory. Still you didn't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out this lady meant bad news.

Jen had shrunk down into her human form so she could sneak in without being spotted by Bruce who was standing by the doors keeping watch. It was good being smaller sometimes she could hide in the crowd. She had lost Billy but then he had gone up to the stage and the cause of Billy's mood was revealed.

'Oh...it was Satana..' Jen said clutching the book. It was Daimon Hellstorm's sister, a person that should be dead and in Hell.

She looked across to the back of the hall and saw that her cousin was also out for the count. 'What the heck that spell just took out all the adults?'

Jen stepped into the large group of panicking students to see if she could spot her friends. Any minute she could Hulk out but she wanted to figure out what to do first, magic was not something her strength could fight against.
